South Island
Located in the temperate South Seas, South Island is home to pristine beaches, rolling plains, lush forests, immense waterfalls, a small desert, and some of the steepest, most inhospitable mountains in the world, but relatively few cities. Though it was once a mysteriously free-floating, roaming island, detached from the Earth's plates and driven by the power of the Chaos Emeralds, the island has since come to rest just offshore the United Federation. In our story, South Island could be considered a protectorate of or even part of the United Federation. The current UF president is a South Islander.

Towns & Cities
Emerald Town
Southwest across the river from Spring City, on the southern peninsula of South Island, lies Emerald Town. It's a sprawling, peaceful, heavily forested rural suburb, speckled with quaint cottages, the occasional little shop, and many unpaved roads. Besides the long stretch of beautiful beach on the southern shore, there's not a lot to do or see in Emerald Town, but for those who want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the island's larger cities, it is a very nice place to live, and not a long drive from Spring City.

Spring City

Spring City is a moderately-sized, extremely clean and well-kept city known for its numerous parks full of dense natural foliage and... springs, for some reason. (Spring City is home to Spring Yard, hence its name.)
Starlight City
Located at extreme altitudes on a high mountain plateau, Starlight City is a tightly-packed, highly urbanized, extremely dense city of tower skyscrapers. Because of its altitude, it tends to be much colder than the cities nearer to sea level, though the geothermal activity of the area (including a massive hot spring coming down from the top of the mountain) help keep it an inhabitable temperature. Due to this altitude, however, the only way besides plane or helicopter to reach Starlight City is by Sky Rail.
