Agility	Capable of virtually unparalleled speeds in excess of 760MPH. Sonic can perform amazing gymnastic feats with impressive jumps, wall- and ceiling-running, and unrivaled acceleration. He can even seemingly defy physics and defeat inertia with his energized midair maneuvers, such as his homing attacks and fast-dropping "bounce" attacks. He sinks like a stone in water, though.
Strength	He has enough arm strength for his high-speed acrobatics, but he isn't known for being a bruiser.
Toughness	Fit and flexible with a thick set of springy quills on his back, Sonic is an experienced fighter capable of using chaos energy to protect himself (such as with his "Insta-Shield" and protective aura while performing spin attacks).
Energy	Running might as well be Sonic's "neutral" state. It takes some pretty intense action to see him lose his breath for even a moment, and even then, he recovers quickly. He also has a strong connection to the Chaos Emeralds, having used all seven many times, and is capable of Chaos Control in a pinch.

General Info

Courageous, upbeat, quick-thinking, and a little rash, Sonic seems like a living embodiment of the beloved wisecracking hero-with-a-heart-of-gold stereotype. He is, to some degree, but what people sometimes miss is that he's actually not a perfect goody-two-shoes. While he's the kind of guy you can always count on to try to do the right thing, he often approaches the task of heroism from a unique (that is to say reckless) perspective, and is never bothered by making a mess of things if it means saving the day and having a good time doing it. He doesn't care what others think about him, and he isn't afraid to say what he thinks, either.

Sonic truly lives for the life he leads. While he can't stand injustice or seeing people robbed of their freedom, he loves every minute he spends fighting for a cause, and gladly dives headlong into danger and opposition whenever it rears its ugly (and usually mustachioed) head. However, on the flip side of the coin, Sonic also relishes in every minute of leisure he can get. If he's not out taking a jog (the term "jog" being used loosely where it refers to Sonic), he's probably lounging on a beach somewhere or even sightseeing. He seems to like being alone just as much as he does being around people, so it's common for him to disappear for long stretches of time, going wherever his feet will take him.

He can be a little flighty or even playfully antagonistic at times, but all in all, Sonic's a good guy to make friends with... if you can keep up with him!

Ability Info

Running faster than the speed of sound isn't something that just happens. Not only does it call physics into question, but it also necessitates that the runner has some sort of supernatural strength, endurance, reflexes, and not an ounce of fear. Sonic meets all of these preconditions. Though he's no brute, the blue hedgehog is probably as close to the pinnacle of fitness as is possible, an athlete rivaled only by the likes of Knuckles the Echidna. He can maneuver faster than any normal eyes can track, perform incredible feats of acrobatics, sprint across water, make huge, death-defying leaps at high speed, and even use the downforce from his quills to run great distances on walls and ceilings.

When it comes time to fight, he's no glass speedster. Not only can he take hits pretty well, but his quills are so tough that, when curled into his famed Sonic Spin, he can act as a living cannonball, blasting through everything from robots to rock walls. His fighting style isn't limited to just throwing himself into his foes, however. Just as dangerous are his fierce and fiery-fast kicks, many of which appear visually similar to those employed in the acrobatic, breakdance-like martial art of Capoeira.

Sonic is by no means invincible or unstoppable, but give him a reason to push himself to the limit and he virtually becomes a force of nature. To quote his first recorded line: "Don't mess or you'll get burned."

  • Sonic can't swim at all. He can't even doggy paddle. His body is so dense that he just sinks straight to the bottom. But, he's so strong he can actually power through and run underwater anyway.

  • The Tornado was originally his airplane, and Sonic is actually a skilled pilot. He thinks wing walking is a lot more fun, though, and never really cared for the upkeep involved in owning a plane.
