Ability Ratings
Agility

6.5star.png
Pushes near 95 mph, but he has to remove his jacket and cape-- too much drag. Good jumping ability, fairly acrobatic (pretty spry for a middle-age guy), great acceleration, and a good swimmer. A true knight must know no obstacles!

Strength

4star.png
Fit, but not special.

Toughness

2star.png
A healthy build, but not remarkably tough in any other way.

Energy

4star.png
While he no longer has his youth, he can still dish it out for a good while, and has good recovery. Too much still puts a stitch in his side, though.

General Info

Saying that Corin is "a little eccentric" is like saying an ocean is "a little moist". First, he insists on being called 'Sir Corin', and introduces himself by an incredibly pompous, mostly-invented full name. All but a caricature of anachronistic heroism, Corin is an overblown, theatrical, dramatic ham. He may or may not be aware of this. He seems to fancy himself as a sort of old-school hero-- steal from the rich and give to the poor, an underdog knight-errant, that sort of thing. Chivalrous and (mostly) upstanding, he'll go out of his way to help the downtrodden... whether they want his help or not. If you're in trouble, he'll leap to the immediate rescue, no matter who you are, short of nebulously-defined "evildoers". His overblown, overeager sort of heroism and almost painfully black-and-white world-view often cause as many problems as it solves. However, it does solve problems now and then-- he doesn't just leave a path of destruction in his wake. Usually.

Sir Corin has a good heart and good intentions at the end of the day, but a decidedly questionable grasp on reality and an abundance of zeal to act on his interpretation of things. A number of people have a 'quick, pretend we're not home' reaction to his arrival. His never-ending idealism make it nearly impossible to deter him, and also prevent him from noticing the sometimes less-than-rosy reaction he gets. People tend to know his name, for better or worse, after they've been affected by his presence.

However, he's not universally reviled. For all his questionable actions, he's incredibly personable and friendly, the sort who'll buy a drink for a stranger and pay for your meal at the slightest provocation. With his snazzy hat, cape, and goatee, he oozes old-fashioned gentleman, outside of a sometimes too-short temper and quickness to action. Just don't ever indicate that you're in need of help, because he will leap at the call with a dramatic speech and a bit of overdone gesturing. (If there is one thing he does very well, it is chewing the scenery. He's an ex-stage actor, you see-- some theorize that it was one too many blows to the head in a rehearsal that led him to take up his current persona.)

Ability Info

Sir Corin would hardly have survived as long as he has as if he wasn't a (surprisingly) good hand in a fight-- he's quite the athletic specimen overall. He's quick; he's strong, in a gentleman's sort of way; he can even swim decently well (and is said to have amazing lung capacity thanks to how much of a blowhard he can be). Considering how many scuffles he's had to scrap his way out of, and how many other scuffles he's had to run away from, it's a lucky thing he is, too. He's no bar-brawler, but he can hold his own in a fist-fight and even fence a little bit, and while he may no longer have youth going for him, he's quite the fit middle-aged man.

Of foremost note: give him a polearm weapon (particularly his personal weapon, a half-pike), and he can be a right acrobatic whirlwind of pain. He's particularly fond of using it for pole-vaulting over and around enemies, and jumping down on his enemies and evildoers with it. He's surprisingly competent with it-- he can even balance it on its point and stand on the top, though only for about a second before he crashes back down.

Trivia

  • Closest friends: The open road.
  • Likes: Classic literature, theatre, helping those in need of assistance, telling about his adventures, seafood
  • Dislikes: When people don't want to hear about his adventures, debauchery and dastardly acts, citrus, not being referred to by his "full name"
  • Favorite color: Blue
  • Birthday: February 2nd
  • Home: Seems to be seen around Cape Norden a lot, so that'd be as good a guess as any.
  • Character Theme: Emilie Autumn - 'By The Sword'
  • Misc. Facts:
    • Sir Corin is missing his tail-- he says it's from a heroic life-or-death exploit. While this may be true, it's equally likely it was a mishap involving a can-opener.
    • His hat is always worn at a rakish angle. It's never been seen upright and normal.
    • Corin has a past as a classical actor, and he's not afraid to show it off. (This helps his larger-than-life image, as well, as he's near-constantly projecting-- known to the layman as "speaking very loud with great emphasis.".)

Notes

  1. Which is, sadly, not a bizarre kind of aardvark/wolf hybrid, but is instead a kind of hyena-- so it's pretty unrelated to actual wolves. Go figure.
