General Info
Kindness can be hard to find in a robot, but R.E.G.I. was essentially programmed that way. R.E.G.I.'s name stands for Ring Extractor Generation I (one). He was built by Eggman as a prototype for ring collection, storage and delivery; one that is maneuverable, faster than large cargo drones, and could deliver rings to forces anywhere, as well as help repair in some cases. While he has made several trips to the front lines, he's never fought himself, but has seen quite a number of damage done to both sides.
He was equipped with an AI program to give him decision-making functions, but still remained neutral and under the command of his creator. However, after the Eggman Empire's fall, his command signal was disabled, and his AI program began to work on overdrive, taking in the personalities it has seen and crafting one for himself, as well as giving him conscious thought processes. R.E.G.I. was never battle-hardened and was made to more or less 'heal', so outwardly, he became a kindhearted individual who cares for the safety and health of both biological and non-biological creatures. He does have a sense of duty and place (carried over from his time serving under Eggman), and will follow any orders given to him as long as it doesn't involve him directly harming others. His neutrality and kindness can benefit anyone who needs help, be it hero or villain.
Ability Info
R.E.G.I. was built with quickness and durability in mind. His rocket tail allows him to pull off a multitude of movements while airborne, but on his feet, he is quite clunky. More of a medic than a fighter, he will most likely try anything to avoid conflict. If cornered, he will fight using mostly ramming, clawing and boosting his rocket tail into his opponent, but only until he can find a way to escape.
The rings reside in his body compartment, compressed and organized in rows. When they are needed, they are delivered by opening the hatch that also serves as his mouth (the mouth does not move otherwise, even when talking). However, the stored rings do not, by any means, make him invincible. He is still vulnerable to damage, EMPs and whatever weaponry is good against robots, no matter how many rings he has in store. He is also able to fly using the huge rocket booster mounted in his tail, which is ball-jointed to bend in any direction to propel him. His energy sources are the rings kept inside of him, as a result, he has to constantly keep at least a small amount of rings within him to function normally. If any emergencies should occur, or his rings are forcibly removed, he has a backup electric battery that lasts him 5 hours in order for him to find more rings.
