Ability Ratings
Agility

1.5star.png
Capable of okay jumping, a small bit of swimming, and climbing, but he's plain and simple not really flexible and not the most agile out there. Tops at 18 mph. In other words, ahahahano.

Strength

6star.png
While better at punching than lifting, Murdoch is still a regular powerhouse. Not the strongest, but the guy was a boxer, and it shows

Toughness

6star.png
Stocky and tough, and a good fighter, Murdoch is a moderately tough guy-- he has to be, he can't move enough to avoid it.

Energy

2star.png
Regarding running, his opinion is "this is why we have motorcycles". Fares better fighting in place, but still...

General Info

Let's put this right out there: Murdoch is not, by any stretch of the imagination, a likable man. A violent, heavy-drinking opportunist who can't go two sentences without a flurry of swear words, he seems to go out of his way to make sure that nobody even tries to act friendly with him. He's not the sort who's a jerk on first glance but nicer at heart. No, his first impression is pretty darn accurate: a short, rough and tumble devil who chronically smells like alcohol, and cares only about fame, fighting, fortune, and himself. The only people he won't just up and punch in the face are the people he knows could punch him back; that's just about the only standard he has.

It should come as no surprise that Murdoch's entire philosophy boils down to "look out for Number One"; for that, he's got absolutely no alliances and seems completely devoid of moral standards. If something will work for him (or if someone will pay him!), he'll do what it asks... until it stops working for him or someone offers him more. That's all he'll do-- no more, and no less.

He gets in everyone's face; he holds grudges; he starts fights because he thinks they're funny; he couldn't care any less if he's got any respect, renown, or reputation, as long as he gets what he wants. In fact, he does have a reputation-- he's an ex-boxer with every win under his belt accounted to knockout, and was barred from boxing in official tournaments when it was found out that the backs of his gloves were reinforced with solid metal plates. It should come as no surprise that one of his most persistent nicknames was Murder. In fact, even outside of the ring, he has a special pair of gloves... He'll do whatever it takes to win a fight-- he's got a wide wealth of knowledge on how to fight dirty, and lives by the philosophy that it's only cheating if you can't punch out the guys who come to stop you.

Yeah, in short, most people? They hate Murdoch the second he comes into their lives, with good reason-- and Murdoch really couldn't care less.

Ability Info

Small, inflexible, incredibly slow, and with average-on-a-good-day stamina, Murdoch logically should not be as much of a threat as he is. That's until you realize how much raw power is in the angry little monster-man-- he doesn't need to move much to be an absolute terror. Staying in place and letting his problems come to him, Murdoch has a lot of sheer, raw power in his arms (and, to a lesser extent, legs). While he's maybe not as experienced at lifting as he is at just punching through what's in his way, and while he's not quite as strong as some, he's still scarily strong, especially for his (diminutive) size. While may not be throwing cars left and right, with a few solid punches he can lay almost anything that's not specially-defended down. This is all made worse by the solid metal plates that are in the backs of his gloves-- as if he really needed the backup.

Solid is really just the operative word when it comes to the Tasmanian Devil; he can't move fast, but he only needs to land a few hits to lay someone flat. Short, stocky, and entirely used to being punched in the face (and honestly, just really stubborn) he can take a deal in return. No, he won't puff out his chest and laugh while a round of bullets is being unleashed in his stomach, but the point is. He's easy to run ragged, but he's not the sort who'd start running and chasing unless he really had to.

Also of note, though it's very rarely applicable: his jaws are incredibly powerful. It's been said that he can rip through steel with both his hands and his teeth, and while that may be an exaggeration, it's only slightly so. There's a reason he survived as a boxer even with such a big protruding shnozz: nobody wanted to put their hands near his mouth.

  • Likes: Money, making money, spending money, fighting things, winning fights with things, eating, sleeping until noon, instigating bar fights, boxing

  • Vehicles:
    • Motorcycle: A ridiculously, some would say excessively, powerful cruiser. Green and silver.

  • Character themes:
  • Other Trivia:
    • Murdoch has a past as a professional boxer.
    • The backs of Murdoch's gloves have sewn-in metal plates.
    • Possibly related to the last two points, Murdoch is no longer allowed to participate in the South Island Mixed Martial Arts League.
