Fugue is a so-called "side-dish RP" featured on the Sonic Spindash RP forums. It has nothing to do with Sonic the Hedgehog or the main story in any way.

Fugue is an RP that has its roots in the old games of Let’s Pretend. There is no established setting beyond what has been made up over the course of the RP, and there is no plot except beyond what is evident in the threads so far. No-one has the faintest idea where this is going to go, but it should be one wild ride.

The world has forgotten itself. The collective identity of every human, every creature, every town, every city, every nation, every sentient being has vanished—memories drained like wine from a tipped bottle, histories ransacked like a broken safe. No-one can remember who they are, where they came from, or who they knew there. Families regard each other with unrecognizing horror—unsure of why they are in the same house as these strangers. Neighbours and friends rush out of the doors, alarmed, barely noticing each other’s alien, unfamiliar faces.

Cities that were just over the hill from each other are now blindly unaware of the others’ presence. National borders have evaporated, borne witness to only by scrawled and lonely markers and by derelict checkpoints, since abandoned by the guards who woke up to find their minds half-missing, and who fled their posts in a panic.

However, the guards still remember how to fight, even if they don’t remember where they learned. The blacksmiths still know how to forge, bakers can bake, carpenters build. Languages are still known, practitioners of magic still remember their spells and rites. Math is still understood and practiced. The functional ability to sustain an entire society is still present, the only thing that has vanished is society.

No-one knows what the cause is, and very few people are in a proper state to find out. The disaster (for that is what it seems to be) is most evidently magical in nature. Whether or not it was on purpose or caused by some accidental spell or freak magical storm is anyone’s guess, although for the effect to so specifically target memories of history and identity and nothing else seems very unusual for an accident.

There is a city large enough to be home to a cathedral. To the east is another town, big enough to contain a library. South of this town is a forest which may or may not be choc-a-bloc full of fairies.
==Empires and Economy==
Non-existant, as far as anyone can tell. The world has just forgotten itself. Kings, duchesses, knights, priestesses; everyone who might have held some sway over the people of the world has forgotten what they ever knew. Towns that used to reside on the opposite sides of the same hill are no longer aware of each others’ presence, and may not even meet as friends when they do discover each other.
