Speed	To pursue most criminals in his line of work, one has to be quicker than the average joe. Jacques is not the fastest on his force, but he's still quicker than most of the employees in his department, averaging about 115MPH on a good day. Changing his usual attire for something lighter can bump that up to 135MPH.
Agility	Basil tends to have no problem jumping over small buildings and other obstructions, resorting to a wall-kick jump whenever the structures go too far up. Kicking off into a high-speed run is a simple enough feat for him. He's not really fond of tight corners, but he usually counters this by kicking off of something at the right angle to fix his direction. (Failing this results in a nasty fall, obviously..)
Strength	Jacques is relatively strong, and has no real issue with heavy lifting when it comes into play on the job. Although, most of his muscle tends to go into the swings of his cane, anyway...
Stamina	Basil is the kind of persistent itch that just will not go away. He decides he wants to put you under arrest? Then, by George, this jackrabbit will not leave you alone until the mission is accomplished. Ne'er-do-wells beware.
Toughness	The detective's own resilience is a result of his many years working with the force, dealing with hard time criminals who sometimes got the jump on him in some form or fashion. He's a tough nut to crack, but he's certainly not invincible.

General Info

Jacques is a strict upholder of the law. Regardless of how complicated a situation, the jackrabbit will always be determined to seek out the truth of the matter, and bring the ne'er-do-wells to justice. It is due to his immense determination and high arrest rate that he is a well-respected individual in the police force. However, regardless of how much his team holds the jackrabbit in high regard, they are still quite discomforted by how sudden his mood can change. Jacques has been known to exhibit swift differences in his behavior, most of the time due to any errors caused while in the middle of a case. As any minor detail can be the key to solving a crime, it is crucial, in his opinion, that every factoid and testimony be 100% perfect, no questions asked. There is nothing more painful, in his eyes, than watching the innocent take the place of the true guilty party, simply because some buffoon on the force forgot to point out the exact timestamp at which the crime occurred.

With that in mind, Jacques is -hardly- an unforgiving, cold soul... He's just a very temperamental detective who wants to ensure everything is done -right-. He praises his force when they do right, and he gets on their case when they misstep. It is simply all part of the job, and another day in the life, so to speak. He has few close friends due to his shifty moods, but those who are able to ride those rough waves generally stick around and have a drink every now and again. To those individuals, Basil harbors a beating heart of gold, and is also considered to be gentle as the morning breeze... although any officers under his jurisdiction will simply debunk that statement with recurring memories of certain thwack-happy cane...

Being a jackrabbit, most of Jacques' abilities involve using his superior leg muscles to kick off of a surface for a super-fast tackle, or a momentous leap into the air. In addition to that, he shines the most when it comes to close combat, making good use of his diamond-topped cane to crack skulls when the time calls for it. Because of these particular moves, the detective tends to be quite acrobatic, scaling the sides of buildings with well-timed wall-kicks without much trouble as a go-to example. Of course, he's a bit limited by his choice of dress, though he makes things easier for himself by shedding the tight-fitting suit jacket if the situation deems it essential.

He's also very fond of kicking people with the rock hard soles of his shoes, particularly after he has already kicked off of a wall to close the distance between himself and a crook. He's not a martial artist or anything, but he at the very least knows the essentials of connecting the side of one's face with his heel.
