General Info

As the oldest of five siblings, Astrid has always savored time left to herself to pursue her own interests, for it was a rare day where she wasn't called upon to look after some sibling or another. The daughter of a schoolteacher and a hobby store owner, she was raised to value intelligence and responsibility above all else. This, paired with witnessing a meteor shower at a very young age, made it so she always knew she'd go into an academic career dealing with something scientific. When she wasn't helping to prepare meals or making sure one of her littlest sisters, Ren, didn't end up setting the house on fire, Astrid could always be found with a telescope, a star chart, and a notebook. This passion plus her natural intelligence helped her to fly through school and become a research scientist by the age of 22... although it meant she didn't really have time to form friendships, despite being a more or less sweet and well-meaning, if a little bumbling, young squirrel.

Preferring to take the back seat in almost any situation, Astrid does not like talking to large crowds, or even signing her name as the lead researcher on a publication. She's quite humble, preferring to pass praise on to her colleagues, and her written work is by far better than any oral presentation she might ever give. However, if you get her going on any pet topic (anything related to astrophysics or aerospace engineering works for this), she will start talking and will not stop until she realizes that she's gone off on a tangent. If she feels she must do something, nothing will stop her from achieving it- not even her own lack of anything even remotely resembling assertiveness.
