Ability Ratings
Agility

6star.png
Honed from experience outrunning traps, robots, and other unpleasantness. Tops out around 90 MPH with effort. Moderately acrobatic, able to quickly lunge and dodge his way out of oncoming attacks, and a great swimmer thanks to the unfair advantage of being an amphibian. He's a tiny little flipping and jumping machine.

Strength

2star.png
With most of his strength in his legs and tail, Aga generally doesn't bother throwing punches. Being the Mayor of Shortville doesn't help.

Toughness

0star.png
The little guy can't take a punch to save his life and has a low tolerance for pain.

Energy

6star.png
In good shape and powered by sheer will and smugness. Can breathe underwater, and possesses the advantage of almost visibly regenerating his wounds thanks to his axolotl ancestry.

General Info

Aga - the only thing he will answer to, because listening to people stumble over his real name is infuriating - is a trained explorer-archaeologist, a skilled athlete, and a graduate of Spagonia University. These traits are mentioned up front because he will bring them up at any opportunity available. Unfortunately for those around him, Aga has a bit of a habit of being a know-it-all. While he is in fact bright, educated, and pretty good at moving and jumping around, he's not nearly as good as he thinks he is in any of those categories. It doesn't help that he's almost as insecure about failing in one of his areas of expertise as he is about his less than impressive height. His fairly constant smug, I-know-more-than-you bluster is compensation for this. Luckily, this can by bypassed by giving him any form of praise, instantly making him into a (still slightly obnoxious) friend for life.

Underneath that, though, is a real dedication to the acquisition and sharing of knowledge. While proving himself by digging out ancient treasures and lost artifacts is a primary goal, Aga truly does aspire to the altruistic angle of archaeology. This also gives him an inherent distrust of those who wouldn't share their knowledge with the rest of the world, such as tomb thieves or scientists who won't share their amazing discoveries with the public (or when they do it's in the form of robot armies). Indeed, despite all his time spent in ruins and nature, Aga has a great appreciation and love for modern technology, believing that science is the most powerful force in the universe. Even fuzzy, powered-by-energy-rocks science.

Appearance

Aga is a short (80 cm!) white and pink axolotl with a long tail, green eyes, and reddish whisker-esque external gills. He usually eschews clothing beyond the standard gloves (dark blue and black work gloves, though he insists they are "exploring gloves") and shoes (hiking boots, also dark blue and black.) His only other accessory is a blue belt with pouches for his being a 90's comic book character occasionally used archaeologist tools for delicate objects and a holster for the MagnaGrap.

Ability Info

There's really no way to go spelunking or tomb raiding without running into robots or supernatural creatures, so as part of his attempts at being a renaissance man, Aga's picked up some fighting skills appropriate for his tiny size. He's also naturally quick and agile, and intelligent enough to not blunder into unwinnable fights (though given his overestimation of his own abilities, not always intelligent enough).

His main gimmick though is the MagnaGrap, a hi-tech magnetic grappling gun, able to either pull Aga towards distant objects or pull smaller things (like people, lighter-ish robots) towards the axolotl with more strength than the little guy could muster. With the Claw Mode, selected by a button on the side of the gun, the firing bit can turn into a five-pronged claw to attach to non-magnetic objects.

Thanks to being a member of a species that is a bizarre spectacle of science, he's able to quickly regenerate from wounds. Not that it matters a lot. Given his general smallness he'd prefer to not get hit period.

Trivia

  • Closest friends: No one has gotten far enough past the Smug Field to be considered "close" just yet
  • Likes: Discoveries, learning, educating others, recognition, being right, being told that he was right, seafood
  • Dislikes: thieves and other selfish people, short jokes, being mistaken for a kid, failing, insults directed at his homeland
  • Favorite color: Navy blue
  • Birthday: March 19th
  • Birthplace: Spagonia
  • Home: Wherever he happens to be at the moment
  • Character theme: The Undertones - Smarter Than U
  • Other trivia:
    • Aga can afford traveling the world and exploring because he writes a series of popular Spagonian pulp adventures starring the character "Alexander Axolotl". Each of these stories are extremely (and it's not possible to stress that hard enough) loosely based on Aga's actual adventures and are filled with long-winded educational asides about a variety of subjects that are inevitably edited down to nearly nothing by the publishers.
    • It's a bad idea to ask him anything about his family. It launches him into frothing, barely comprehensible rants about goat farming.
