If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

That little pause that Tails took was certainly not a smart move for him to make. The entire time, Knuckles chased after him in that familiar sprint, his lips pressed together as tight as his fists, and when he got close enough to him, he was very ready. The rock kicked at him? Simple fodder, swatted away by one massive fist with hardly a second thought. And as if part of a destructive one-two, a second hand in the form of a hammer-fist came rushing towards Tails' side.

Frankly, Tails seemed quite simply out-matched to beat Knuckles without getting really creative. And kicking a rock at him small enough for Tails to kick would not likely do the trick. The echidna was all business.

"I'll KILL YOU!"

On Ace's side, it was no doubt a good thing that Rock would be ready for a melee the instant he got up, because that's exactly what he'd get. The cat was in no mood for playing games, and it showed. Even as Rock lithely slid and rolled along the ground, and before Kyle made his sudden split, Ace chased after, and teeth bared, fists clenched, and for some ungodly reason, what seemed like a sparse amount of tears wobbling under his eyes.

The cat dove in, projecting what seemed to be another hellish slobber knocker with his shoulders, but instead quickly ducked down, stood up and delivered a whole series of lightning fast blows. Hooks, jabs, straights, you name it. If it was a punch, it was probably somewhere in that mess of a melee. It didn't seem to matter if any of them it or not. He just kept on going...

What a mess it was. Rock barely had time to shoot the chao a surprised glance before he was defending himself again.

Ace had some fast arms, and was a hard-hitting brawler in his own right. Like with Rock, even his fast, "quick" punches were hard by any normal standards, and left the primate in constant backward motion. He knew the fighting style, though—Ace's aggressive pummeling and rushing was used to build momentum and control, and Rock wouldn't have any of that.

As arms flurried and flailed, Rock weaved and dipped, blocked and deflected, and took some hits, too; at least a couple hit across the top of his head, and some others struck his shoulder and chest, each jolting him, but not budging him. He focused on moving laterally, turning their stepping, fist-flinging battle into one full of circular shuffling, to keep the hyper-aggressive Ace from gaining that much-needed momentum.

Up until that point, Rock hadn't really delivered much of anything back. He was just enduring. He knew Ace was under the influence of some "other force," and he was trying his best to get an opening to somehow remove the cat's jacket, or get to his pocket, or do something without putting him down. But...

*Paff*

"You're pissin' me off, Ace," growled the monkey through gritted teeth as one of the cat's fists connected jarringly with his cheek.

Rock saw something more bothersome out of the corner of his eye, though: Tails and Knuckles. The echidna looked like he was going to murder the little guy. He didn't have time for patty-cake with Ace.

He suddenly ducked low under the next high swing, got "inside" Ace's punching barrage, too close for him to get good power into the strikes, and with arms and shoulders drawn in tight as he stood, grabbed at his friend-turned-foe's jacket lapels, and yanked to pull him straight up into a fierce facial headbutt.

Tails saw that the rock did nothing. If Knuckles ever would've shown emotion at something like that, now was not the time he would be doing it.

Right, there was one thing Tails could do that Knuckles couldn't: he could fly—well, two things, because Knuckles wasn't actually that good with technology, but at this point, technology would not be much of a saviour to either member of the duel.

With little hesitation, he leapt into the air and began hovering up where Knuckles couldn't reach him. There were a lot of things that Knuckles could do, but 'achieve vertical lift' wasn't one of them. Tails bobbed just out of reach of the Echidna, close to one of the spidery conduits that made up the base supports of Eggman's main tower.

While Jam stood lifelessly idle in some kind of staring match with her fellow puppet, the incessantly undulating wisps of electricity congregated around that small point where the hedgehog's very not idle fist made impact for mere fractions of a second, before an unseen force shoved the pair away like two positively charged magnets.

The shield had absorbed the blow for the monkey, so other than being alarmed, she was alright, but happy she was not. Her jade eyes narrowed venomously as she reclaimed her footing, and stood up straight, her flickering orb momentarily spent.

"A'right, y'little s**t," she spat acidly in a low tone, dragging the back of her hand across her upper lip with a sniff, while gritting her teeth. "Try that again."

She stood there another moment, hands down at her sides, and held slightly away from her, seemingly inviting Sheffer to try. With just another eye's blink, however, a feeble spark ignited from the gem on her wrist.

Her hands curled into fists, and the first spark birthed two more, then four more, and progressively more, which wound their way up the monkey's frizzy, outstretched arm gradually trickling down her body and back up again in a Jacob's ladder-like pattern of movement, growing more intense with each repetition.

But still, she didn't advance; she seemed be waiting... or, perhaps more appropriately, charging.

That last surprise hit from Rock had done more than give the kid a reason to visit the dentist; it had knocked him clean out. Oblivious to Jam's cries or the chaos around him, Toby lay motionless on the floor, his jaw slowly trickling blood. As the boy slowly began to return to the realm of the living, he had a lot to take in. Toby's trip back to conciousness was like traveling from dream to nightmare, as his blinded eyes surveyed the situation.

It hurt. His whole face, especially his jaw, hurt like hell. His thought patterns fuzzy at best, Toby did his best to collect himsef, pushing back up onto his feet. There was no time to rest, and no time to nurse his wounds; a quick glance around the carvern revealed that it was still flooded with grizzled, ghostly, mechaical monsters that would like nothing more than to tear him to pieces. Kyle was nowhere to be found, let alone any of the other impromtu possee members he had teamed up with. That's what he saw, at least.

What he heard, however, was the a very familiar voice of one static-shocking simian. Desperate to find a friendly face, Toby's head darted around, catching the blurred sight of Jam just a few feet away, in heated battle with one of the undead underlings of Dr. Eggman. Toby grunted as he forced his body to move. Still dazed and confused, Toby at least knew enough to know Jam was in trouble.

The blood still flowing down his cheek, the vacant eyes of Toby Cotton fixed steadily on Sheffer. Green-bean was about to be fighting a two-on-one battle. Cotton's feet hit the ground steadily as he sprinted towards his target. Bending close to the ground, Toby pushed off as hard as his legs would allow, sending him hurtling at the Hedgehog at top speed, whipping both legs out to full-on stomp Sheffer in the stomach. If he wasn't paying attention, the target of Toby's rage would have a busted-up battering ram knocking on his door in seconds.

Meanwhile, across the room, the dynamic duo of Rock look-a-likes were flying as fast as they could towards the kangaroo rat and company. They twirled around each other occasionally, apparently flying in some sort of formation. Their tiny voices spoke in stereo.

"Miju, Toba."

He just couldn't believe it. Whatever he threw at this girl, she'd just dodge, jump, or even deflect the attack. Sheffer felt seriously outmatched in this fight, those blasted electric powers of her's giving her an upper hand in every single situation.

Shaking his hand slightly (the thing was still recovering from the fist-to-shield impact), he glanced around wildly, trying to find something, anything to give him some sort of advantage here. The hedgehog's board was too far away, the floor was spotless of materials, and there was a kangaroo rat flying his way-

Oh sh**.

Reacting in the best way possible, Sheffer jumped back out of the rodent's trajectory. With another split-second decision, though, both of his hand's darted out, grabbing onto Toby's leg. Using the same method from his encounter with Jam from before (except without being shocked to kingdom come), he swung around, using the rodent's momentum to assist in doing so. Just as he could see Jam, he released, hurling the yellow projectile straight towards her.

He had finally found his weapon, it seems.

It is important that we here note that Mako had, true to his character, by this time run off and hidden behind something in the dearest hopes that none of these crazies would notice what he was doing. From his hiding place behind one of the myriad of tanks, he looked around him for something to grab and chuck at someone.
Okay, glowing things were bad, he decided, and pointedly avoided touching any of that. Glowy may look cool, but is bad, if the faint glowing from those who had gone 'round the bend seemed any indication. ... okay, there. A non-glowy rock. That would do. He tossed it to himself a few times, deciding who would be least likely to turn around and turn him into shark-steak. ... therefore Knuckles was straight out. Um... the pink monkey? She seemed a bit preoccupied with the hedgehog, though she had just had a rat flung at her face, and Mako suddenly dearly wished that he knew the names of these people.

Mako sighed, his course of action forming in his mind.
Fine, we'd do it their way.
Taking the rock, he instead flung it, very hard, at the tank directly adjacent to the one he hid behind, this one made of metal and thus creating a resonating sound as the makeshift projectile hit it. Direct their attention, maybe, as he gingerly stepped out, hardly seeming ready to fight, but he yelled either way:
"OI! Crazies!" Truly, Mako was a wizard with words. "Anyone feel like makin' fish tacos out of me?"

Maybe he could give a reprieve to... someone, by distracting one of the loonies.
Hopefully one who would not make good on he making him into fish tacos thing.

Knuckles growled noisily as his target slipped just out of grasp. He could never jump quite as high as Sonic, and he certainly couldn't take to the skies like his little buddy, so the flying badniks were always annoying for him. If only Tails were here...

But the echidna quickly remembered, if a badnik was agile and irritating, they were probably just a distraction. A quick glance at his surroundings reminded him of familiar times. A small team of similar robots attacking in unison? He'd been through a number of situations like this. And it always meant one thing: This band of bionics had a leader. Take him down, and they all follow suit. It wouldn't take him very long to find a match for what he was looking for. Hiding behind one of the tanks, he heard his orders given through a crisp, electronic voice.

"SURRENDER TO THE WILL OF EGGMAN, AND YOUR MEANINGLESS LIVES WILL BE SPARED."

So it was with sudden haste that Knuckles dashed off to the side, leaped into the air, and swiftly shifted into a gliding stance. With surprising celerity, he rode the airwaves fist-first... straight towards the unluckiest shark to ever set two feet on solid ground.

Meanwhile, the erratic cat that Ace had become didn't seem to show signs of calming down, even as his blows landed. If anything, he seemed to be reaching even higher peaks of anger, spitting out promises of murder at random intervals. But as he did, his movements slowly but clearly became sloppier, and it was a matter of time that someone like Rock find the opportunity he did. Press as he might against the simian's arms, they simply would not budge. When Ace saw his head reel back, his reaction was based on one of the purest instincts one can experience.

Not in the face.

In a twisted reflection of their first encounter, Ace turned down his own head, and thrust it forward in a near perfect duplication of Rock's own attack-- forehead to forehead. The results were hard to determine. Should the monkey have released Ace's jacket by then, the cat would simply stumble-fall painfully to his back, but quickly reach into his pocket in a desperate attempt to keep his foe at a distance. Was it the grenade Rock had lent him earlier...?

Actually, no. If Rock wasn't careful, he'd be subject to a direct hit in the gut by... the very crystal that was controlling Ace. Plucked right out of his pocket. By himself.

Ace's strength and Rock's toughness had this way of balancing out when they were busy punching each other to pieces, but where the rubber met the road was when they butted heads—Literally. Even though it was very nearly eye-wateringly painful, the collision of skulls that knocked the feline flat on his ass only staggered the primate for a second. The sour face and squinty eyes that resulted from it had considerably more staying power, though.

That whole exchange actually left Rock in a bad damn mood. He was fed up, and frickin' verily did it show. By the time Ace pulled out that crystal and hurled it at the monkey, his shiny, sweat-pouring face had run the gamut from being focused, to being ticked off, to being slightly rage-filled (That means a lot), and finally, back to that open-eyed, deadpan, silent, seething ferocity that historically heralded some of the worst and most inhumane of Rock's actions. The glowing, energized stone was literally met in midair by an improbably accurate fist, as Rock stomp-stomp-stomped his way to the cat, busting the gem into a million little pieces with all the concern of someone swatting a fly away.

...

Insert mental record-scratching noise here.

Rock's face suddenly blanked as he realized Ace had just rid himself of what was most likely the source of the problem. He thus halted, blinked inquisitively like a man waking from a daydream (of raaage), and looked down at the cat. He subconsciously kept his fists balled all the same, but maybe they were just stuck in that shape. They may as well have been, after the day he'd had.

"Ace?"

A spilt second before the busted up boarder would've actually landed a hit on the monstrosity tormenting Jam, his robotic rival turned his head toward the approaching attacker.

"TARGET ACQUIRED."

D*** SENSORS!! Before he even realized what was going on, the decrepit deviant had schootched aside, latched onto his leg with its metal claws, and had chucked him into the air. His fall, however, was broken by something significantly less hard and metal, and distinctively fleshy and more...

"GaahGnnNNNGH!!!"

...electric. The current Jam had been storing went straight through the kangaroo rat's body, causing him to convulse wildly as every muscle in his body seized up. The poor boy just couldn't seem to catch a break, and the whole scene looked incredibly painful. Once the shock had fizzled out, Toby dropped to the ground once more, his clothes charred and black around the edges. He was literally smoking.

Sheffer's attack had been a smashing success... however, it came with a bit of an unexpected side-effect.

"RE JU!" Aaaand there it was. Half of the boy's faithful chao was suddenly on Sheffer like white on rice. His tiny hands glowed with energy as he focussed, and in moments the chao was swinging lightning fast, deadly accurate, CE fueled jabs at the hedgehog.

Thing 2, on the other hand, swiftly descended on his kangaroo-rat companion, almost immediately moving to shuffle through the contents of the boy's pockets. "Hababi!!" With a small exclamation of triumph, the gelatinous gemini yanked the offending crystal from Toby's pocket, flinging it across the cavern. It smashed to bits as it hit the metal floor.

As focused as she'd been on rending the offending baddie's CPU (among other things) from its chassis, her train-like objectives completely derailed when she caught sight of her only other ally in trouble (in trouble on her account, it might be added). She shuffled to and fro, side to side, and lined herself up juuuust right to place herself directly under the spot where the airborne kangaroo rat would be flung.

"I gotcha, I gotcha!" she repeated almost as a mantra, dancing about beneath the boy with her arms outspread for her catch. She actually did line it up fairly well, too. The problem was more...

"GaahGnnNNNGH!!!"

"S**T! Oops! Sorry! Sorry, sorry!"

Despite her very ardent efforts, she couldn't seem to undo her oversight and get far enough away from the fried rodent fast enough to do any good (and she did feel really bad about it), but she didn't spend too much time mulling over her screw-up. Some other flitty robot had descended on the grimy green one she'd been fighting, while Jam noticed another moving towards her fallen comrade a little too late to do anything about it.

"HEY!" was all she could get out as she lunged for the creaking, bat-like bot, narrowly missing it's sputtering wings before it did -- something to Toby, resulting in his immediate replacement with yet another hostile.

With a livid sneer the likes of which few had seen on Jam, she back-handed the pink-eyed white chao (which was in no way related to a dragon) with a fierce vindictiveness that needed no words to convey it; electricity voraciously coated her arm, and happily transferred to whatever she touched.

With that, she turned her wrath on her former comrade, taking advantage of his felled position (still booting up, maybe? Jam didn't care), and beginning to plow into him with a relentless thunderstorm of lightning fast jabs and punches. Whatever she thought she was breaking, she seemed hellbent on giving it the Rock touch; tearing it apart with her bare hands, if it came to it.

Only moments after throwing his new projectile straight at Jam, he heard a new noise... almost like gibberish. His head turning, he immediately saw a new object zooming his way. It was a white chao, and boy did it look pissed.

"Not you too!" Sheffer said in disbelief, the chao coming on him fast. Already he felt the flurry of miniature fists on his flesh, and though they weren't expected to be powerful from such a creature, the punches actually had a large jolt to them. One after another they came, the hedgehog sensing the chao's clear fury as it unloaded its anger onto him.

Doing the first thing that came to mind (and suitable for his attacker's size), Sheffer's hand darted out, grasping the chao around the middle, holding him away from his body. The furious white mass's fists were now out of reach, for the time being.

Mako did the most logical, manly, tough thing for him to do at the moment.

By that, it was meant that he screamed. He screamed a lot. He knew full well: he hadn't much of a chance against the one person he was so dearly hoping wasn't going to take after him. He leapt away from the tank as quickly as he could manage, and hopefully out of the range of the echidna, taking little heed of how he threw himself.
... This had worked a lot better in his head... primarily because in his head, the echidna, who may well be the strongest individual on earth, was not the one who took the shark as bait.

The shark, not particularly wanting to take a couple spiked fists to the face, scrambled to his feet and bounded clumsily backwards, his little shark-y mind trying to formulate a way out of dying as he tried to put as much distance between him and Knuckles.
It was probably because of the panic, but he wasn't coming up with anything, so once more, he took the most logical course of action.

"Someone give me a hand here!" he screeched, waving his arms like a lunatic, keeping his eyes on Knuckles very closely.

Small, jiggly, and admittedly cute, Kyle was easy to underestimate. However, the chao had taken a bit more from Rock than just his CE punches and a split down the middle. Kyle had copied a skilled, concentrated, highly-trained fighter, and as Sheff reached out to grab him, the hedgehog's movements might as well have been broadcast on a big screen in flashing letters reading, "HEY, GET OUT OF THE WAY, HE GON' GETCHA." Sheff was aiming at a tiny target that was quick and agile, and he was gonna have to do better than that.

"CHU BITA!!" Kyle flipped backwards out of the reach of the hedgehog's hands, immediately attempting to fly right under green-bean's arms with a chaos-uppercut special for the guy who just messed with Kyle's bread and butter. There was one thing Sheffer was right about, though: Kyle was pissed.

The pink-eyed chao hovering near Toby was in for a less benevolent fate. "Re?!!" Distracted by priority one, the crystal that was effing with Toby's head, pinky felt the full force of Jam's electrified pimp-hand all upside his face. The little guy shot so fast across the room, one could almost imagine a sports-caster screaming the word "GOOOOOOAAAAL!!!" as he hit the ground. The tiny chao convulsed just as Toby had done before, but astonishingly, managed to start hovering back towards the battle scene in a matter of seconds, though not without a fair bit of struggling. Though the electricity had dealt Kyle a pretty nasty shock, the actual blunt force of Jam's blow was softened greatly by the chao's jiggly, gelatinous form.

Safe to say, these were not your average chao.
