Updates Sonic Spindash RP is closed.Founded 05/25/2002 by three friends; ended 09/19/2012.
It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.
Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.
I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.
I love you guys. God bless.

Mako had smiled and nodded his acknowledgement to Jack's greeting, but turning his attention to the conversation in which Geoff was involved, breathed a sigh. "As long as his connections don't include crazy old moths, I'm okay with whatever."
"seriously."
Corin had leapt down from Big's shoulder, and... why, there were so many people to talk very loudly at! He stroked his beard with his free hand, gripping spear tight as ever in the other, and then... Ivan's suggestion of booze. "Ahah! I wholeheartedly second the notion!"
Whether he was wanted or not, he invited himself over and entirely-too-heartily clapped Ivan on the back.
Mako's eye twitched involuntarily at the thought of a drunk Corin.

Vade didn't have a lot of trouble catching the aardwolf's exclamation, snickering at the thought of seeing the bunch of them waggle across the pier half-drunk or more. No genius was required to figure that Vade wouldn't want to miss that party, so in order to try the same thing the medieval aardwolf just did, he brought his fingers up between his lips and let out a loud whistle in the direction of the group. "'ey! Did I hear something about getting a drink? Mind if this stranger tags along?" He yelled it out across the pier while still sitting idly atop the dump truck, soon following up his previous request with a, in his opinion at least, solid arguement: "The more, the merrier, right?!"
He smirked to himself as he shoved himself down from the truck again, as if already expecting that the group would let him tag along, especially since both the wolverine and the boar were more or less out of that conversation.

"Ah, payment..."
The agent avoided eye contact as he thought to himself, clearly trying to think of a way to explain it to the hog--the hog who was big enough to squish his head single-handedly. "From what I have been informed, my superiors have agreed to your price...and will be delivering it to you in increments. I have been instructed to deliver a fraction of your payment directly to you...which is currently in my pocket..."
That sounded simple enough, but Pax still seemed quite awkward or even nervous as he moved on to the next question. "In terms of manpower...well...I am in contact with a number of individuals who are meant to provide support as necessary, primarily intel and instructions and...so on... If you are referring to field personnel, um..."
The canine cracked a very awkward smile at Casey as he slowly pointed to himself.

It would be hard to make it through life as Latika without getting used to the feeling of being brushed off. It wasn't that she hadn't at some point drawn the connection that some people didn't like being bombarded with invasive questions, either, but her excitement still got the better of her more often than not.
Still, she respectfully remained rooted to the spot, sighing over her crossed arms as Casey and his Mysterious Contact of Dubious Value excused themselves to parlay in private.
With a shake of her head, the loris uttered audibly, but perhaps to herself, "Hope this one work out better than one in too-small pants..."

Casey stopped and gave Pax a tired, piteous gaze, like he felt sorry for the guy, but lacked the energy to be encouraging at all.
"I ain't lookin' down my nose at your help," he said levelly, head shaking. "I know you G.U.N. guys are in some hard times right now. I get that. And we got some good people here who'll be willing to help us out—maybe even better-suited than I am. It's just..."
He drew a breath and held it a couple seconds as he contemplated the most sensitive way to formulate the continuation of his current train of thought.
"The last guy you sent me nearly blew his own hand off with a grenade. And he was wearin' tights." He deflated with a sigh. "Real good guy and all, but, tights. ... I just need to know you're not gonna get yourself or any of these other nice kids here killed, 'cause this ain't a job to take lightly."

Pax seemed puzzled at the 'tights' comment, but after Casey finished his sentence, he shook it from mind. Suddenly his face turned stern, almost glaring at the hog in front of him. "Sir," he responded quietly, and with audible restraint in his tone, "I am a fully-trained and capable agent. I admit, I've only been in active service for less than one year, however," he crossed his arms at this point and began speaking louder with a sudden confidence, "I know very well what it takes to serve in G.U.N., and I take my job as serious as a person in my position should. I'm not much, but I'm still a professional; I know how grenades work...and I don't wear tights..."
With that mild outburst done, he took a breath and unfolded his arms, resuming his earlier calmness. "I assure you, if this group of people is to assist us, then I will do my utmost best to ensure their continued safety. One of the first things we were taught was to always watch out for each other."

The big ol' pig smiled a smile and nodded a nod of genuine satisfaction, puffing out his chest (and, inadvertently, his gut) with a fist firmly planted on his side.
"Haha, good enough for me!" he declared with audacious verve, confidence restored. He was easily loud enough for the others to hear, now. "Let's do business!"
That grin was still on his face.
"I have no idea where to start!" he admitted just as loudly, with tongue-in-cheek enthusiasm to match his prior (more genuine) statements.

"Got to admit, the doc's useful," the hedgehog managed to say to Mako amongst the chatter. "...well, when you get past the crazy. And the experiments. And the skin samples."
Geoff could have continued on like that for awhile if it weren't for the departure of their former captain. Instinctively brushing off his shoulder as Ivan released him from his grasp, he gladly let the hare go off on his booze hunt. Let a sailor be a sailor, he supposed, especially if Corin decided to tag along. It seemed the trash digger over in the distance was still eavesdropping as well, as if dying for an attempt to be involved; guess wallowing in a dumpster all day didn't gain you much in friends. That wasn't Geoff's problem, though, instead trying to get back to the subject that held priority.
"Jack, did ya manage to learn anything?" he asked the griffin amongst the din of the distant canine's yells, Casey's exclamations and Sir Corin's enthusiasm. His expression seemed to already expect the worst.

Jack shook her head a bit at Casey's response. She would have handled that differently but there were no hard feelings over the outburst. She looked at Geoff again when he asked her the question.
"Nothin'." She said with a shrug. "Ta be honest, I ain't got much in the way of friends out here. There are a few locals that mentioned some queer goin's on. But it's far from a solid lead."
"Everythin's a bit of a mess honestly, between the power struggles and Eggman in Central City; it'll be a miracle if we get anywhere near Li Fang."

Pax stood awkwardly in front of Casey for a moment, mumbling a quiet "Umm..."
He unzipped his vest a bit and started fishing around inside it for something. Eventually, he produced a white, sealed envelope and presented it to the pig. "We can start with your payment, I suppose? These funds should support our efforts for a time, I believe. They didn't exactly give me the specifics; you'll have to see for yourself."

Casey grabbed the envelope with enthusiasm and began to open it, but was soon proven clumsily unable. Suffice to say it had to do with machine guns not being good letter openers. He crammed it into his inner jacket pocket instead.
"I'll... count it later," he snorted, then cleared his throat. "Anyway, I meant, y'know, direction-ways," the hog continued as he led the way back toward the rest of the group in a plodding swagger. "I don't know where to start lookin' for our man. You'd think with that many foreigners comin' in all at once an' settin' up shop somewhere on a lil' island like this, they would've caught somebody's eye somewhere. Y'know, travel security, or a cop, or... neighborhood watch, or... nosy lil' ol' lady next door, or... somethin'. Somebody."
He flailed his arms out with that last blurt. It involved him aiming his gunarm in all kinds of random directions. Unsettling.

"Power struggles?" questioned the hedgehog, crossing his arms in a contemplative gesture. "How am I not surprised..."
Casey's steady return to the group caught his ear again, Geoff turning to the boar and G.U.N. agent. He was ready to start his own questioning, but he paused; he didn't have any questions. Down to the utmost simple fact, he was hitting dead ends as much as everyone else was. Jack may actually hold some truth in her words about the slight impossibility of their goal... at least for the moment.

Eventually, the group had come to a consensus: They didn't know where to begin, they were tired, they were hungry, and quite a few probably needed just to freshen up a little. As such, everyone went their own way, to take care of their personal business and get their heads on straight, agreeing to meet back at the boardwalk later that night. Some had gone off together, such as Casey and Latika, while others probably wanted nothing more than to get away from some company (like anyone + Sir Corin). Whatever the arrangement, the appointed hour was at hand, and people were starting to filter back to the waterfront. It was bright and colorful; lanterns and banners hung about, lamps shone, and the smell of corn dogs, french fries and other fresh food wafted from the many restaurants that dotted the long, sprawling boardwalk. Maybe something like Or... The rattle and flap of flags in the ocean breeze blended in behind the laughter of strolling strangers, and, for a moment, one would be hard pressed to think anything was wrong with the world at all.

There were midway games, too; Casey had been introducing Latika to the wonders of completely-rigged-and-unfair gaming entertainment. They were currently visiting the shooting gallery, where the one-armed hog had to awkwardly take a plinky little .22 rifle in a single hand and try to hit a tiny target with sights that were about a mile off.
"Aaw, c'mon, this is crap," he protested after another round of not even coming anywhere close.
"If you got the money, you can keep tryin'!" replied the rather barker-ish attendant.
"Yeah? Look, see, this here?" he gestured toward Latika, "This here's a guest to our fine country, here, an' I'm tryinn'a win 'er somethin', a'right? How 'bout you just give me another shot, here, gentleman-like."
"No freebies, pal," replied the attendant.
"Huh," he laughed, but without any genuine amusement. "Maybe I oughta just use my own, then, huh?" suggested Casey grimly, hoisting his gunarm up onto the counter. "This one shoots straight, I know it. Y'wanna see, pal?"
It might have been an ideal time for a returning member of the party to interrupt the exchange.
