It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

"Modern world not so great so far," answered the loris somewhat stiffly, as she navigated the sterile, homogeneous hallways, without breaking pace. "Lots of rude people come from modern world; not good implication."

A brief, passing glance at a jumble of Chunese characters clustered about a mess of directional arrows sent her decisively left at disorientingly unvaried intersection of paths, and straight to an elevator flanked by yet more Chunese. She jabbed the button, and stepped inside, holding the doors for her accompaniment, adding, after a slight hesitation, "But maybe opinion will changing after 'real fun stuff'."

"Man, just be rude straight back," advised the bird, "That's how it all works really. Some people make it an art form."

Giving a nod of thanks, she slid inside and leaned against the wall. The lettering made no sense in her mind and was sure to become a problem if she ever stepped outside the hospital. Though, there were always ways around that.

"Yeah, no doubt about it. I betcha one night on the town would just blow your mind. Going to some club and just letting loose. Go wild and all that junk. Nothin' much more fun than that. Experience talking right there."

The nurse, after setting down Ace's clothes and towel somewhere where they wouldn't get wet before their time, quickly made for the exit. She waited patiently outside of the showering area for the guest to finish, clutching her clipboard.

As the news was suddenly replayed before him, the feeble attention Geoff given the device earlier was now returning with much more concentration. As he watched and listened, a frown became more and more visible on his lips as he finally was given word of events far outside of the country he was currently situated in. However, it wasn't just the news of the cargo that was troubling him...

Cue Corin.

The appearance of the theatrical, spear-wielding man of justice was enough to snap Geoff from his hard stare. Corin didn't exactly chipper his mood, but it at least let him focus on something else, even though it was relevant to some of his thoughts.

"Well, good luck gettin' that thing back while being discreet," he commented. "Everyone is goin' to know about it now... guess your country didn't find any harm in blabbin' about a hazardous weapon when a couple of world powers are at each others' throats and already got an ear out for the news."

A light sigh that came out more like a "hmph" escaped the hedgehog as he turned back to the device.

"But they're callin' themselves 'Chimera', huh... and already tryin' to stay in power. How am I not surprised."

Casey stared unblinking at Corin for quite a while. While Geoff spoke, he was still staring, evaluating the aardwolf. He spared the hedgehog a glance, but not much more, at least not yet.

Then, in an instant, something clicked. It seemed that at this precise moment in time, Casey once and for all realized that Corin was dead serious. That is, he realized that Corin was genuinely a cape-wearing, spear-swinging warrior from a dated civilization who was not merely wearing a facade of grandiloquence and importance, but was built entirely of the facade, and was truly exactly what his wild persona said right on the box: a vain, self-important, but well-meaning madman.

Suddenly: belly laugh.

"Yerrr allll right mister," Casey declared with a hearty backslappin'. "'EY, ROBOT," he then suddenly bellowed to the cafeteria's lunch-lady-bot, holding his bowl aloft. "Some good slop for the brave knight o'er here, hauh?! Haha!"

He set his bowl back down, grinning at Geoff.

"Y'run with interestin' sorts, don'tcha?" asked the loud, plump pig with the gun for an arm.

As the elevator *ding*ed its arrival to the otherwise desolate corridor, Latika stepped out looking faintly bemused.

"Is sound like very different kind of place. Blowing on minds consider good thing?"

Et cetera, et cetera, went the idle conversation, all the way back to the medical center's lobby, which... truth be told, looked astonishingly similar to most every other room, just with more chairs where beds would be, along with currently inactive wall-mounted displays, and a conspicuous set of sliding doors, leading to glorious civilization, home to real fun, and blown minds, or so trusted sources said.

The loris stepped out of the lift... and made the first sharp right away from those doors, strolling right into the hospital gift shop.

Reason: Wasn't paying attention to the layout as described in previous posts, so I had to significantly change the content so as to not throw everyone else off. Sorry for the confusion, folks!

OOC: Corrab with the Kazzmaster.

"Yeah?" The cat seemed to take an especially long time wiping the grime from just above his mouth before he answered, and suddenly the room seemed much quieter, even with the falling water. Suddenly, he wasn't actively showering so much as he was getting wet. "Maybe we're more alike than we think." The shower wall had a conveniently-placed, knee-high protrusion to sit on, so he made use of it.

The shark leaned against the wall. "Yeah, well... seriously, the cosmic forces have somethin' out for me. ... it's probably named something totally mundane, like Paul. Or Matt. Or Billy." Pause. "Or Gortharx the Exterminator."

Ace chuckled, but continued. "Y'know somethin' though man? All these jokes aside, it hasn't been easy. For real. This past month, I lost my girl. I lost my two best friends. I found my father, just in time to lose him again. And it doesn't look like I've got a bright future here, either. And when I say all that out loud, it kinda sounds like the end of the world. But when I look at it... it doesn't really matter.

Mako gave the cat a sort of raised-eyebrow look. He paused for a moment, seeming to actually give it a moment of consideration. "Because... weeee're stuck on the far side of the planet and there's like, nobody that speaks the same language as us?"
He shrugged his shoulders and gave a sort of 'well, I tried' half-smile.
"Strike that. Go ahead. Why 'dunnit matter'?"

Through the sarcasm, almost peanut-butter-thick though it was, Ace managed an almost genuine looking smile. "Hey, I'm only tellin' you this 'cause it looks like you could use the advice yourself," he lied. "It's just somethin' my grandpa told me 'fore he died."

Uh oh. Story time.

"He said to me:
Never, ever give up on yourself, and that'll put you one step ahead of everyone else. 'Cause most people will. It ain't their fault. People are built for maximum achievement with minimal effort. That's just the way they're wired. But if you really wanna make the most of your life, just wake up every morning and ask yourself: 'Will I give up?' And so long as the answer's no, you're still in the game. 'Cause there ain't nobody that can break you but you."

The fish paused for a moment, raising his eyebrows again. "Huh."

"And you really buy into that?"

For as disbelieving as the words would sound written-down, there was no (okay... only a very little) hint of his usual sardonic tone. He briefly peered through the door in the wake of the nurse, but kept his person in the room and turned back to the conversation at hand.

And there was that smile again. If he wasn't careful, that could quickly become a habit. He leaned back.

"I'll admit, some days it's a lot harder than others... But my gran'pa was an honest man. An' he never lied to me."

...

"'Cept that one time where he said we were out of pumpkin pie, an' he was just saving the last slice for himself, the greedy old bastard."

Thanks to the pig's sudden outburst of booming, jolly laughter, a chair gave a screech of metal on tile as Geoff inadvertently kicked back from the noise. Realizing there was no cause for alarm, however, the hedgehog soon scooted back the couple of feet forward back to the table, though still appearing a bit perturbed. To react with such vigor and enthusiasm to Corin's appearance wasn't a shared idea, it seemed.

Yet now there was the boar's question to consider.

"You'd be surprised what all I get caught up in," answered Geoff, throwing another glance to the news-spewing mobile device. "It's like I'm perpetually caught in a cycle of disasters. Nuclear explosions, getting lost in space, coming back to find the whole planet under Eggman control..." A disgruntled sigh. "Really wears you down after awhile."

As if their conversation was a queue to the powers-that-be, the very same nurse that had gotten Ace his clothes walked back into the shower room.

Well, maybe "walked" was the incorrect word. More like barged in, this time. She dropped her clipboard and lunged straight for Ace with her left arm outstretched to grab him by the neck and pin him against the slick ceramic wall behind him.

If she got that far, the follow-up would be a hypodermic needle in her freehand with the intent of jabbing it into his shoulder so as to pump some muscle-numbing drugs into his system. Even in the event of success, the drugs would take a little while to kick in through-out the body.

Guess they can add "Attacked by a psychotic nurse" to their list of weird stuff orchestrated by Gortharx the Exterminator.

"Ugh, look, ma'am," he began, as politely as he could for one so keen on being intruded on by strange women, "I realize you're a nurse, but this is the men's showurrhk--"

Oh, well, okay.

Truth be told, if she'd just stuck him as her first move, he'd probably have been sleeping like a baby in the next ten minutes regardless, but it was probably for the alleycat's own good that she seized him by the throat. Of course his first move was to get this crazy ho out of his face, so more out of survival instinct than reflexes or anything else, it was with a hearty shove that he aimed to remove her from this unwarranted attack upon his person. With any luck, she'd be rolling along the floor at least long enough for Ace to shout out some kind confused, of garbled obscenity at her.

Mako had been intending to make a remark, possibly (probably) about pie. That thought was swiftly interrupted by the return of the nurse and her assault on the cat. Before he could make sense of what was happening, all that registered was that she was running at the still clothing-devoid Ace. What first came to mind was what would come to mind for any 17-year-old shark.
That faded quickly, once he realized the subtle nuances at hand (read: the needle in her hand), but.

"whoa wait what" the shark blurted before he could do anything else, and was rooted to the spot just momentarily. ... and then, as Ace shoved the nurse away, it was time for a time-tested Mako classic. Bracing himself for painful, humiliating failure, and without really thinking about what he was doing (it seemed to have worked so far), the fish threw himself at the nurse just as Ace shoved her away, in attempts to politely remove her from the situation.

By jamming his elbow into her side.

Thoroughly (perhaps even thankfully) unawares of the villainy he could be putting a stop to elsewhere in the building, Corin let out a hearty laugh in return to the boar's sudden outburst of joviality. "Fantastic, good sir! Remind me to procure a drink or three for you once we are out of this fine facility!"

And then, Geoff's comment.

"Hm! Hm!" the aardwolf stroked his little goatee. "A hero must never grow weary, my dear boy! Fight for the right regardless of fatigue!"
Was he listening at all to the parts about nuclear explosions and getting lost in space? (Answer: no.)

While the shove provided by Ace was not enough to send her rolling to the ground, it did send her backstepping abit. Ultimately, though the important thing was that the needle stab was interrupted.

But Mako's action put the lid on it, knocking her on her butt. Her fancy nurse hat flying off, along with her...wig?

Yes, it would seem that the nurse get-up was just a facade. The wig, combined with the cap did a good job of hiding his antlers, up until they were knocked off his head from the force of Mako's tackle. In reaction to being tackled, Archer gripped the needle in his fist and jabbed it at Mako's back, and using his thumb would begin injecting the drugs into him instead, should he not pull away in time.

"Ahhhhsweet mother"

Mako made a valiant effort, and very nearly did get himself away, but the key words: very nearly. He didn't, in fact, manage to get out of range of the needle-slinging buck and into his sharky back the serum did go. It didn't take effect quite yet-- there was that.

He planned to take advantage of that. He didn't try to attack the deer any further -- it had went just so well last time, after all -- but instead wrenched himself backwards in attempts to put as much space between himself and Archer as was possible.

While the loris wasn't her first choice in company, it was better than wandering around to find someone else. Plus, it was kinda fun to listen to her talk if only for the slight misunderstandings. Kinda endearing or some other word that meant cute but wasn't.

Plus the accent was sweet and being around made it easier to copy later.

Entering after her in the gift shop, Ember eyed the cliche knick-knacks and 'recover soon' cards that filled each hospital. A rather sappy plaque labeling something about mothers reminded her to call her own.

'Hey mom! I fell out of space, it was pretty rad! Also a giant phoenix gave me fire powers! How's pop?"

Er, maybe later. Desperate to get her mind on something else, she asked the loris,

"So, how much of the world do you really want to see? Like, any certain places?"
