Sonic Spindash RP is closed.

Founded 05/25/2002 by three friends; ended 09/19/2012.

It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

"Yet here we are," muttered Geoff from his seated position on a random piece of luggage, staring off in some direction as he mulled over the whole situation. With the tedious explaining and backtracking on what had happened to him and the others in just the last couple of days, not to mention the train hopping and thug fighting, the hedgehog was feeling fairly exhausted. However, it only took him a moment to gain some focus and shoot a glance to someone within the car.

"You," he said, pointedly addressing Corin in a tired manner. "You're from where this circle thing came from. What does it even do, supposedly?"

Latika had surprisingly little to say, despite Casey's laundry list of weird. This, perhaps, may have been owing to the fact that she didn't understand enough of it to warrant any of the boar's squinting and head scratching, or was otherwise too busy tending to the preparation of their stew, or else, was just remarkably indifferent to the whole situation. It was really hard to tell which, but judging at least from her placid grin, and the jaunty, but quiet tune she hummed (which, some of the travelers might have recognized as a very, very old song from way back in the "Nordish Invasion"), it was at least safe to say she was unbothered.

She wasn't oblivious (intentionally or otherwise) to the situation, either; her eyes followed the conversational cues and spotlights, but at least for the moment, she didn't have anything to add.

"...Eight days a weeek, is not enough to show I care~"

Well. Nothing useful.

Sir Corin cleared his throat dramatically, and got to his feet, and gestured, and opened his mouth...

"..."

"Aharm. Well. The, ah, matter of that is such that, for a certain manner of speaking..."

Turning away from casting a sideways glance at Ace to determine whether or not the smaller feline among their party was dying or not, Mako groaned. "Here's betting he doesn't know," he said in a low tone, looking at Geoff while Corin got flustered.

"and henceforth such as it is, I don't exactly know, persay, hmrm. Stories vary wildly, and I, ahh, personally have yet to see it. Very few have! I am greatly honored that the people of Cape Norden have entrusted me with..."

Mako gave the hedgehog a look that clearly read 'called it', before looking at Casey. "So... uh... I'm guessing nobody has any idea who this Li Fang dude is, huh. Except for the guy none of us understands."

Sorry for the delay, here. I was trying to think up something a bit more poignant and story-progressing, but as Casey, I got nothin' at the moment.

Casey, sitting on the floor near the bubbling pot with his legs crossed and hand on his knee, bobbed his head in a sort of lamenting shrug. (Y'know, after he was done staring at Corin with some sort of mix of disappointment and suppressed amusement.) "I haven't spent a whole lotta time in Chun-nan," he admitted in reply to Mako. "So... sure, the name sounds familiar-ish, but heck if I know anything else."

He leaned forward to take a peek at their stew, maybe a little impatiently. Watching water boil seldom made it boil any faster, but it didn't stop him from trying.

"We're headed for Hoeng Gong, anyway. I'm sure it'd be easy enough to find information there, if you guys are actually..."

He trailed off as if struck by a sudden realization. His eyes squinted and he turned to look at the shark more directly.

"Waa-hay-haaait a cotton-pickin' minute, here. Why're we even talkin' about this? — Like you're seriously gonna go chasin' down some sorta mob boss?"

"Never said a word about doin' that," Geoff said, appearing to be recovering from a light bout of annoyance thanks to Corin's unhelpful rambling. After his defending comment, however, a hand wandered up and rubbed the back of his neck, letting his shoulders rise and fall. "Not like we haven't done worse, though..."

Dangerous emerald retrievals, encounters with a heartless child and charging a robot-defended aircraft all came to mind.

"I'm goin' to mull over it. I just wish I knew what the thing did. Also..." Cue a wave of the hand as he pointed out the others around them. "We've been through enough trouble as it is. I'd rather not get so gung-ho 'bout somethin' no one here wants to get caught up in. Already wantin' to hang onto that idea myself."

Mako (who seized up and stammered a bit when Casey started talking to him) jerked his head at Geoff. "What the sparkly one said!" He paused then, and had a moment of clarity. "Though, honestly, I'm starting to think that... ... ..."
Pause.
Pointed look at Li Fang's grunt. "I-- I mean, I'd rather get outta here, y'know, fast as possible, but... my luck, dude. Our luck on the whole, even. I'd like to at least have a chance to mentally brace myself for getting involved in yet another adventure I want nothing to do with."

Pause.

"There also exists the distinct possibility that Señor Spear-Stabby will drag us into it kicking and screaming."
Aaand there was the normal Mako again.

Ace seemed to sink into his own mind somehow, meditating under his blanket while he dug up the memories in his own mind. Finally, he brought them out to share with the others, but whatever he had to say seemed to come from a place much darker than he'd comfortably venture.

"Li Fang...," he echoed, pronouncing the name as slowly and deliberately as if it was some kind of verbal land mine. "I recognize the name... but I don't know much about the guy 'imself. Just rumors, an' stories." He rubbed his head searching for the scraps of recollection he had on the subject. "But if half those rumors are true, then he's prolly the scariest mother%*#$er on the planet. Totally ruthless."

The serval leaned back and sighed gently through grit teeth, as if regretting even thinking about it at all. "...I got enemies as it is," he mused bitterly. "'Sides, I'm no #&*$in' world-police..."

Leaning against the wall of the car, the bird just gently rubbed her sore beak as she thought. Ace had a point; everyone had a point! Despite calling herself 'neutral', she still felt the choice weighing on her.

"None of us are heroes," she agreed, "but seems like we keep acting like 'em. 'Good of the world' or sumthin'."
