Sonic Spindash RP is closed.

It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

There was a deep, short crump noise as the wave met the golem; the water exploded on contact with the creature, spraying boiling spatter across the dock and sending up a roiling cloud of steam. The steam rose, and billowed, and spread out across the dock, and the air was filled with the sound of hissing mixed with the sound of the torrential run-off as the remaining unvaporized water receded into the ocean.

After a short space of time, the sound of thundering footsteps approached. The white titan, riderless, waded into the steam cloud, but stopped short when it became apparent that it would be impossible to find footing, let alone the golem, among the mysterious maze of wharfs. He backed away from the steam cloud, which would very quickly scald anyone who spent too much time in it, and watched it cautiously. He looked back.

After a little while, the imp, and presumably the rest of the group, hurried up behind him.

"What happened," the imp barked excitedly, "is it dead?"

The buildings and piers within the cloud of steam, out of sight though they were, resounded with creaks and groans—although whether or not this was from the movement of the golem or merely from their tortured, sodden timbers expanding in the heat was not yet readily obvious.

Sorry, I'm done.

I'd like to think I usually don't have a hard time following action and stories, but there's just too many hands in this one, even with only five or six active people. It was an experiment, and my opinion looking over it where we are now is that we can't put this many people in control of a story. It just wiggles all over the place, fumbles around awkwardly, and then whiplashes and jumps around uninterpretably in action sequences.

I mean, looking at this sequence alone: I thought everybody was on a high-up set of switchbacks going down a huge rocky face, and I thought the golem was in and around warehouses and factories and things, but suddenly it's in the water, and everyone's out over the water, and maybe the guy took the sword, and... wasn't there a pilot with them, but now... What? Where are people, what's happening? I really don't care to figure it out.

Sorry to sound sour grapes. I'm not upset, I just... definitely won't get any enjoyment out of this. Maybe if it was just three people or something, yeah. But the very virtue that I thought would come of giving everybody control just... turned out to not be so great, IMO.

I'm outtie.
