Casey had just been digging around through the heaps of luggage for his stuff, listening in on their idle chit-chat when chaos broke loose.
For the time being, the hog stayed on the sidelines; he looked more interested, even amused, than threatened, but then again, when your gun is a part of your arm and you don't even have to reach for it, maybe it's easy to feel prepared.

"Stowaways and scoundrels! I cannot stand for such injustices when there is a crime afoot!"
Sir Corin Reginald Sidney Theophilus Dupont Quincy carried on like this in a long-winded way that would awe even the boar's loris acquaintance, and he indeed waved his spear around without any regard for the fact that they told him not to do just such a thing.
"Why, they tried to prevent me from bringing this weapon upon this fair train! Did they not know that it would be all but essential for stopping misdeeds?"
And so on.
"Ahah! What have you to hide, spiky one?" he interrogated, changing his subject mid-sentence and moving forward to very nearly prod the green hedgehog with the business end of his polearm. He then turned on Ace to do the same. "Some roguish thievery you wish to conceal?"
Mako was trying very hard to pretend he, and their very loud visitor, didn't exist.Big had managed to fall asleep.

The gust of air had blown out the small flame Ember kindled and she had just let it. Standing up, she pressed flat against the wall to escape the weapon's reach. Raising up her hands in mock surrender, she watched the spear closely.
"Dude chill. We're just uh-boring tourists and junk. Ya know, wanting to experience nature and other stuff. Nature is just great, even when stupidly cold."

Geoff's looked like he was prepared to rip the spear straight from the rowdy stranger's hands when it came poking his way, having backed up a step or two with a wide-eyed alertness. When it went on to Ace, the hedgehog's stiffness didn't cease, only staring at the weapon-wielder like he was some strange, out-of-this-world exhibit at a zoo.
"Speaking of which," said Geoff with an obvious, harsh tone, continuing on Ember's statement. "If we were friggin' thieves, ya think we would have prioritized and maybe snatched ourselves something a bit warmer than this?"

If one could see past Sir Corin and his spear-waving, and past the bright light from the sun reflecting off of the mountain snow, one could see through the still-open train car doors that a vanilla-colored mouse was standing in the doorway of the passenger car, quietly peering into the luggage car at everyone he could see, other than the justice-fueled rambling knight. His expression was flat and hard to read, especially because of the classy sunglasses he sported, which complimented the clean navy blue suit and bright yellow turtleneck sweater he wore. The only thing he was missing was the fancy dress shoes; instead he wore brown hiking boots.
With a quiet sigh, he learned against the frame of the door with his hands tucked in the hands of his pockets, the whipping wind tugging at his suit jacket and, well, the rest of himself, too.

Attention waning from their elaborately dressed, old-english spoken, half-pike armed assailant, Desmond gave a quick huff towards the man with a seemingly odd sense of superiority while out numbered, (that or just confused on why no one was beating the tar out of him yet) only seeing him as a nuisance not worthy to keep an eye on.
"Obviously this guy doesn't know what seven on one m-" words stopping in their tracks as his eyesight veered towards the exit the figure came through, and double taking as he noticed the character standing at the door with a relaxed posture.
"Seven on two maybe" he restated, sighing deeply in annoyance at the mysterious guests that seemed to appear quite rapidly in the last couple of days. Eying the silent figure intently, he could only wait to see if he, or the other guy dressed in spiffy attire, would make things worse.

"A likely story!" Sir Corin announced, waving his spear around. "Surely you know as well as I that there has been a crime, and you fellows are the prime culprits! Stowaways, vagabonds! An upstanding citizen would have--"
Suddenly, he paused. The strange man looked closely at Ember, and cocked an eyebrow. He stroked the little tuft of a goatee on his chin, his bronze-coloured eyes taking careful survey of the red-hued bird. There was a momentary pause. His tone and mannerism did a complete and utter one-eighty, and he laughed uproariously, a great booming guffaw.
"I believe we have met!" he said (still incredibly loudly), holding out a hand to the bird.
"Oh, no," Mako lamented, burying his face in his hands.
He actually didn't wait for Ember to shake his hand, he just whipped around and scanned the surroundings. "Ahah! Yes, I do believe it is so! Surely such a valiant lady and an honorable fish," (what?) "would not be traveling with scoundrels! I greet you all warmly!"
What a loon.

Ace, meanwhile, was seconds away from snatching the blade-on-a-stick away from him in just as much a matter of his own safety as for Sir Corin's himself. Fortunately though, the outsider seemed to... pacify himself, and before Ace was forced to do it for him. Good thing, too-- they weren't exactly on the train legally, after all. "Wait, wait--" he inquired, still eying the oddball of a man for a moment before turning to both Ember and Mako, and asking with an only half-hushed whisper. "...You guy know this whackjob?"
Yet just after his sights left Corin, it found itself nestled firmly on yet another outsider. One who, despite not waving a medieval polearm around his nose, seemed almost just as suspicious. It was queer enough that somebody would be staring at them (if not just rude), but behind a pair of dark shades? Experience had taught Ace well-- never trust a man who hides behind sunglasses. And never, ever let him get the drop on you.
"Hey!" he called out, chest puffed and standing at attention. "The Hell're you starin' at, suit?"

The silent figure didn't seem put off by the harsh greeting in the slightest. Maintaining his relaxed demeanor, he straightened himself up a little but kept leaning against the door, with a small amused smirk on his face.
"You know," he began, his voice smooth and just as relaxed like the rest of him, "I was just asking myself that question, too. The answer I have is that I'm staring at a bunch of people standing around in a place they don't really belong. 'Normal' passengers shouldn't be rifling around in the baggage car like it seems you're doing... Neither should the 'gentleman' there be prying his way into such affairs."
He lifted his left wrist up to his face, idly checking the watch strapped to it before sticking his hand back into his coat pocket.
"Then again, maybe it's none of my business," he added, his smirk widening into a grin devoid of any true mirth.

"For a given value of know," Mako replied apologetically, shrugging his shoulders at Ace. "It's a bit of a, story." Before he could elaborate further...
The second he heard a voice from behind, Sir Corin whipped around to face the newest newcomer, polearm extended. (The way he had whipped around would necessitate ducking if half of the passengers wanted to void a spearhead to the face.)
"HALT, FIEND!"
This guy could switch modes at the drop of a hat.
"I was kind of hoping that his entire existance was, like, a fever-dream or something."

Now, reference: A baggage car is a simple, bare-interior car. In this case, it has sliding side doors, as well as doors on either end for passing through even while the train is in motion, though this isn't probably typical.
The passenger cars here are compartment-style. Basically, there's a corridor (in this case a very narrow hallway) which runs alongside individual, tiny rooms, like this.
The freight cars are basically just big boxes with sliding doors on the side. For convenience, we can assume that there are person-sized doors on either end, as well, adjoining the cars. Freight cars will most likely have their doors locked. They also probably have a ladder to the top on each end.

Between Corin and the new guy, the simple train ride was shaping up to be anything but. Pushing a smile to her face, she clasped her hands together.
"You've got it!" she exclaimed to the newcomer, "It isn't your business! So slip back into that other car and go back to acting all mysterious-sunglassed-stranger somewhere else. Let us freeze to death in peace dude."

At that moment, apparently of its own volition, the lid of a large, aged, beaten, and heavy-looking trunk swung thoughtlessly open, liable to clock anyone sitting too close, either with the lid itself, or the mountain of miscellaneous luggage dispatched from it.
From within, a searingly bright LED lantern flooded the room with its relentless white, all but eclipsing the head and shoulders that followed it, rising slowly from the trunk's depths via an almost Draculian sit-up.
"Is very hard to read foreign language story with so much loud talking," Latika complained, mildly exasperated.

"Latika?!"
The hog's head very nearly spun backwards to look at her before his body followed along. She was the last person he expected to be along, and actually succeeded in distracting him from the ongoing spectacle. You know, the one in which some of his acquaintances actually knew the guy with the spear, and where there was some guy in sunglasses standing around and displaying the most overtly mysterious mannerisms he could muster.
"What're you doin' here?!" he hissed in a whisper as he tromped a couple short steps over to her, looking incredibly concerned and maybe ... responsible. "Your family's gonna think I kidnapped you!"

"No worries, Mr. Casey!" dismissed the loris, rising to a standing position (although still in the trunk). She casually swatted the dust from her trousers, and dogeared her page, before setting down her book, and turning back toward the boar.
"Talk to Senge about it before I leave. Want to see the world before settle down; he agree it best -- ask me to send home Twonkies."
As if that settled the matter, she flopped her arms outward in a sort of "so here I am" gesture, before flashing the world's most heavy-handedly foreign thumbs-up, and assuring, "Is okay!"
