It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

Getting onto the train wasn't too difficult. Having wings came in useful for Ember and she managed to safely stow herself away. It wasn't the first time she had done such an act; it was easier than hiding in a truck afterall. Now, she stayed huddled in a corner shivering from the cold. A small flame licked at her hand, but it was more for the light than anything.

The opening of the door brought in a fresh wave of cold and the bird let out a light squawk. The blast nearly blew out the light and she shielded it with her free hand.

Once the door closed though, it was quick to brighten itself.

"Aw jeez, you could freeze ice cream in this thing " she muttered before answering Casey, "Well hey again! Come to swap some stories? Maybe bring some snacks?"

"I'd prefer a space heater," muttered the hedgehog of the group.

One short wait and an easy sprint later, Geoff had managed to hop into the freight car without much hassle. However, he soon found their new traveling quarters exactly like that of the outdoors, except now, instead of getting his blood flowing by the hike down the mountain, he was starting to feel the cold creeping in quickly. His hand were already tucked in tight close to his body, sitting relatively close to the fire bearer amongst them. Warmth was warmth after all, no matter how small.

Giving a brief, welcoming nod now towards the familiar boar (and getting over his irritation from the sudden, chilly blast), he shifted a bit in his sitting position.

"Guess I didn't really expect getting home would be a breeze."

As such with most of the group, getting on one of free cars was not a hard objective. The only problem was the cool weather that was almost so cold that it made his skin perk up with goose bumps.

Adjusting to the somewhat freezing temperatures, Desmond unrolled the sleeves of his sweater to keep his arms warm, which helped quite alot and keep the chilled air only to his breath. Almost as though he were lost in thought, the ferret's nonchalant manner showed his distracted state as he only nodded at the boar's presence wnen he arrived.

Walking in his usual pattern of a small circle, he paced around in his own spot of the train car while looking at the ceiling with a very perplexed expression stamped on his face, as though he were plotting something.

Casey snorted and shook his head. So they had made it.

"Baggage car ain't much for style, but this is about as warm as where I'm sittin', an' I was dense enough to pay money," he remarked as he began to wander farther inside, searching in the dark. Save for very dirty, small portholes mounted high in the doors themselves, there were no windows, so it was pretty dark. He ended up pulling a small flashlight from his tool belt to get a better look around.

"Where'd Latika put my stuff..."

"Well, it's better'n walking," Mako mumbled in reply to Geoff, not-quite echoing what the hedgehog had said at the station. He cracked an eye open; so much as the boar's flashlight was more light than his eyes had gotten used to in their relatively brief time in the compartment, and he squinted.

If anyone were to look, he was all but hiding between Big and a wall for the sake of insulation, wedged in and reluctant to move.

Big had been more than happy to oblige to the shark's request when he had proposed it, of course-- he was faring pretty well. He was him, after all.

"Anything interesting going on out among the living?" the shark said, eying the boar.

The racket of noise between both train and conversation almost did, but could not entirely, cover up a slight commotion going on in the last passenger car. Whatever it was, it was very... shout-y.

"My condolences," offered the serval with a genuine enough (if dozey) tone in his voice. He really did seem to try and say it in good humor, but there was a persistent chill in his spine that may have tampered with his voice. Still, despite his tightly crossed arms, and seat around Ember's flame, he didn't shiver or visibly shake, rather focusing everything on his breath. It seemed to do the trick. He wasn't dead yet, in any case.

He watched Casey work, but ultimately turned to Mako. "Hey, bro, what about you?" he asked. "Aren'tchu, cold-blooded, or somethin'? Kinda thought you'd be a freakin' popsicle by now."

"The only reason my extremities haven't turned blue from cold," Mako responded, looking at Ace, "is because they already are. ... Blue, I mean."

Translation: I can't feel my limbs oh god.

"We'll find ya a warm beach or somethin' after this, then," suggested Geoff, sounding almost serious, rubbing his gloved hands together in a feeble attempt to return feeling into them. "Preferably one without, like, a robot for miles. Or pollution. Or anything Eggman."

He may have let his eyes glance away for a moment, as if catching that muted sound on the brink of his hearing range, but he seemed to dismiss it only a moment later.

"...Geez, a beach..."

It was almost like he'd forgotten places like that even existed. The lids of his eyes lowered listfully as he began to fantasize: The warm sun on a quiet day. Not a stranger in sight. The sand between his... feet. Man, that actually sounded really nice right then...

The serval's words cycled through Geoff's mind as he stared absentmindedly into Ember's flame, contemplating the idea of such a location now that he'd brought up the subject.

"Heh... yeah," he said quietly, a grin tugging at his lips. "Nothin' against permanent winter, but..." A shrug. "Think we deserve something like that 'bout now."

"I could just bury myself in sand now," Ember said with a wistful tone, "Just not move for days."

Letting her body relax, she picked up the faint noise of the ruckus next car over. Interest perked, she to pick out the shouts.

"Dang, guess we're not the only ones disliking this train ride."

"Ugh, stop talking about beaches," the chilly shark groaned, covering his... ears(???) and making a pained expression. "It just makes how horribad this is even more... horribad."

And even so, he found his mind drifting off-- warm sand, shining sun, no snow or middle of nowhere or robots. Most importantly of all, water.

He was indeed in la-la land. Thus, what happened next didn't immediately register.

"Where there exists treachery, I must search it out and dispel it, and I cannot allow you to impede me! Good day!" Step step, doorslam, step, step--

The door of the compartment slammed open, bringing with it a fresh blast of painfully frigid air into the already-chilly traincar. And standing there, leaving the door wide open in order to allow his cape to flutter behind him (in fact, it was close to being ripped from his body by the wind and the movement of the train)... was a man.
From his silhouette, it seemed that he was oldish, and tallish, and was dressed in strange clothes... and he held in one hand a spear that was longer than he was tall.

"Halt, you vagabonds, you freeloaders, you fiends!"

"Oh, f--"

OOC: Quickie!

"--UCK!"

What a rude awakening; Ace practically tripped over his own butt when the noble Corin popped on the scene, stumbling back further against the wall of the car. "Yoyoyo watch where you point that thing, ya #$@!in' nut!"

Broken from his focus by the intrusion, Desmond focused his viewed on the grammatically challanged (in his opinion) character whose dramatic entrance immediately gave the ferret a bad vibe.

Instead of interrupting the man's rant, he looked onward in expectation of a brawl.

"They probably know him."

Although his reaction wasn't exactly on par with Ace's, the shattering of his own idle day dreaming was enough to shock a jump into Geoff's system. The hedgehog was on his feet in a second, eyes focused on the long, pointy, particularly dangerous object being waved his way.

"Hey- hey!" he exclaimed, hands raised instinctively. "Easy with that!"
