Winding down from his little freak out session, Desmond looked over at the boar. "Yeah" he answered sarcastically at Ember's words, "Somehow those guys pissed him off."

Taken aback by the purple drink the visitor consumed, he reached over to his bowl and depleted what was left of his tea. "You mind refilling my cup please?" he called over to the young girl, "It was very delicious by the way" he complimented with a grin.

"Ember, give the man some space," decreed the serval. Whether it was out of politeness or caution for the firearm attached to his... arm, was to be seen, but he did at least seem irritated for the stranger's own sake, as well as Ember's non-existent sense of self preservation. He sighed at her as one might for an erratic child before answering this Mr. Casey on his own time. "...It's a long story," he admitted. "But we don't come from outer space."

"Were you the one who saved us?"

Casey raised his brows at the attention from Ember, but didn't look too worried about her prodding. (Must have had the safety on, or been pretty confident in her inability to find a way to fire it, one way or another.) But when Ace intervened, he just let out a sort of... chortle, and shook his head.

"No, no, that would be the locals you wanna thank," he answered, and honestly appended, "I was just nappin', waitin' for the storm to pass when you crashed your... space ship."

He blinked a few times, realizing how weird it sounded to say that. His head slowly craned back, and with nose in the air, he made a leery-sounding, closely-related observation.

"Now, not that I'm all that disposed to judgin' by appearances, normally, but I do kinda pride myself on bein' able to read people, hm? And, none'a you really look much to me like... pilots. Orrr, urr, astronauts." Insert a squint. "... Or people who should be here. At all."

Something had to be said for the perfect timing in which Ace and Mr. Casey shared blinking time together. Even he hadn't thought of it in any light other than 'the ride home', and now it was both more, and less than that.

He chuckled lowly, almost jadedly, but stood himself up proper nonetheless. "Well, you're right so far," he said, and extended his (left) hand to shake with. "My name's... Daniel, but, everyone calls me Ace." He gestured behind him, to the others. "This is Geoff, Mako, Ember. ...Big, I think. And... er, Darwin," he explained, with a fleeting glance to the ferret on that last name.

"We all tried to fight Eggman."

He paused.

"I'm not sure if we won."

Quite plainly something she had picked up during one of her many trysts with occidental pop-culture, the reddish lass rolled her eyes in a way that comically suggested it was the first time she'd ever done it (quite frankly, she pulled off about as much sass as a kit cat clock) as she just as stiltedly replied to the ferret, "Hellooo~?"

Just for good measure, she put her non-tea cradling hand on her hip.

"Of course butter tea very delicious," she almost bragged, happily emptying the jug into Desmond's bowl. "Is Bhatguri specialty. We make freshly from hand-churn yak butter."

Meanwhile, the large, khaki-uniformed yak man who had been present at their crash site paused by their open doorway and cast a silent, hardened stare inside.

He just kept walking.

A single deliberate blink filled the silence as the loris turned her head only to stare unabashedly right back at their fleeting company. A second blink followed in his absence.

"Not that yak."

Mako had an expression of intense distaste on his face, casting a cautious look at the passing yak.

Big, as per usual, was oblivious. He sounded disappointed, actually.
"Aw. No more?"

Rapidly moving his mental subject away from said matters, Mako nodded, looking over at the boar. "Iiii-hiit's kind of a long story," the shark elaborated, and paused for a moment. "Eggman's not in control of the empre anymore," he offered, hesitantly, his tone of voice fairly clearly broadcasting a pointed but unstated 'but...'.

"But... let's just keep it at that," said Geoff, having heard the shark's tone and deciding to finish the topic before it wandered off into sourer territory. "You got it right, though. We aren't particularly the space faring crowd. Yet some of us keep getting stuck up there."

The hedgehog had assumed a more relaxed composure in the presence of the boar now, now at ease knowing this guy may be their ticket out there. It was another friendly face too, something that hadn't really been a common enough sight in the past few days. Heck, everyone (besides that one passing yak only moments prior) had been quite a welcoming group ever since their arrival. Really, Geoff could be content with just having some good old R&R before heading off to the "homeland".

"From the looks of it, you guys really didn't seem to have much Eggman presence here," he observed in an attempt to veer the subject somewhere else.

The way Casey looked at them was "interesting" — which is to say that he was a little bit squinted, very focused, and may have been skeptical or suspicious. Those were lofty claims they were making, on one hand. But, then, on the other, they had just crashed in a spaceship. So, he said nothing on the matter, and merely nodded politely to each as they were introduced, and shrugged and relaxed when Geoff made his observation about Eggman's dealings in the area.

"Wouldn't know, wouldn't know," he admitted, shaking his head. "Just passin' through, m'self. Wouldn't even still be here if weather hadn't'a turned ugly."

He shifted his weight a little and glanced back toward the door.

"Snow should let up tomorrow, though. You look like you folks could use some rest, so I'll just be gettin' outta your hair, now, hm?" The hog turned and started for the door.

Casually taking the girl's attempted sass in stride, Desmond couldn't help but chuckle at her attempt to imitate western (or his country's) culture. "I see you have some curiosity on our living standards" he replied with a suave demeanor. Curios on her eagerness to learn more about western civilization, he offered to indulge in a conversation with her "Would you like me to tell you a bit about city life where I come from?"

Keeping a partial notion on the others, he noticed the large cat unhappily search his bowl futilely for any of the remaining tea. Taking a sip he motioned a single finger in front of his mouth, "Hold that thought" he said while motioning over to Big, "He seems a bit thirsty still." Walking over to the sumo sized cat, he silently handed his bowl over to feline and walked back.

"Now where were we?"

Getting the hint, Ember backed off of her investigations of robotic arms and gave Casey a farewell. Afterwards, she now turned her attention towards Desmond. Giving a wry grin to the ferret, she called him out.

"Jeez, laying it on a bit thick aren't you Dessie? I don't think she'll be able to handle all that raw charm you're handing out."

A glance was spared to the activity in the back, but quickly shaken off.

He caught just long enough of a view of the the big boar's back before realizing... he should probably stop him. "Hey, wait--" he asked, hand outstretched. "We're, kinda in some foreign territory, here. When the snow goes down, you mind if we tag along 'til we find our way?"

Casey paused and glanced back. He genuinely seemed to think about it, twisting his mouth up just so.

"Sure, if that's whatcha want," he offered after a few seconds, shrugging with both his shoulders and his eyebrows. "I'm eastward bound. Gonna hop me a train to Hoeng Gong. Guess from there you could catch a plane back to wherever it is you belong, if you've got the rings for it, anyway."

He didn't wait for them to ask to borrow money. He turned and waved ("G'nighhht") and wandered off to collect his dinner and vanish into his room.

There was a flicker of an odd expression that briefly visited the loris' countenance, which segued into a muddled expression of discomfort. Drawing her shoulders up, the girl turned stiffly back to the table, and set her empty decanter back onto its tray, which she set into the side of her waist, before walking around to the other side of the table. It was from there she addressed the ferret.

"Not so charmful as he try to be, maybe," sniffed the girl at the myna bird, albeit in a tone by and far less rigid than the one Desmond received, though eye contact was notably avoided. "Still would be displease to the family of my promised."

There wasn't hardly a period's pause before she added, "Meal preparation should be finish; I go to bring the food," and swept from the room just as succinctly as she could manage.
