Updates Sonic Spindash RP is closed.Founded 05/25/2002 by three friends; ended 09/19/2012.
It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.
Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.
I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.
I love you guys. God bless.

"...you've got a point," replied the hedgehog to seemingly both Ace and Ember as he slumped back on now propped up pillows. Communicating with the loris efficiently was already proving to be a no-go, and he really didn't feel to eager to continue pursuing the subject.
Although he hadn't originally felt much distraught to their current location, it was starting to gradually seep in. Chun-nan? Yeah, he'd been quite the traveler in the last few months, but at least then he was in terms with what to expect on where he was going. But this hemisphere definitely didn't feel familiar at all. Here he felt like he'd stumbled into someone's home uninvited... but at least the hosts were friendly.
"Still, we really don't know how secluded this place really is. Wouldn't hurt to find out how soon we can go," he said, pushing himself back up, flinching lightly at the sudden ache in his back. "...but yeah, maybe we should take it easy. Isn't like we're in the best of shape anyway."

Mako paused, letting all of this soak in.
"... we're stuck in the middle of snowy nowhere and we've got a communication barrier thing going on," the shark summated, blinking slowly. He backed up to the bed he had stripped the covers from, and proceeded to flop straight back into it. "I donno about everyone else but I'm with Sparkly."
Big, meanwhile, trundled his way over. Not saying a word, he picked up one of the bowls full of liquid between two of his gargantuan fingers, and lifted it to his mouth. He poured the uncomfortably viscous drink into his mouth, all at once, by turning the bowl upside down. He paused.
Big liked his lips. "Mm!"
Mako stared at the larger feline.

A shadow leaked its way through the doorway, growing in width. Backlit by firelight, and failing utterly at subtle eavesdropping on account of hefty weight and creaky floorboards, a pretty huge boar in a red jacket clutched the doorframe in a meaty, dark-gloved hand as he leeeaned and peeked in with just half of his face. His one visible eye glanced around nosily, staring at each individual for a few seconds as if he was actively interested in them for some reason. He sniffed once or twice, but said nothing. It was kind of like watching a very large, curious child coyly wait to get invited into the neighbor's yard to play.

Ace shook his head. "Ah. Anyway, thank you for..." He sighed. With the biggest questions out of the way, he suddenly seemed aware of all the trouble these complete strangers were going through. "...All this." Hospitality like this wasn't quite so common in the 'big Western cities', but with all the nonsense going on in their collective lives, it seemed easy to take for granted all the same. "We never really gotta chance to intro--"
Hello, neighbor.
"...duce our, selves..."
Whoever it was looked so much bigger while he was sitting on the ground, and there was really just something about a tall stranger peeking at you through a crack in the door.
"Uhh. Koooonichiwa," he said, offering an awkward wave of the hand.

The girl's oblivious nature was enough to shake up the ferret, who had a schedule he wanted to keep. "Do you happen to have a phone?" he blurted suddenly as he stood up from his bed. Looking over towards the door he noticed the stranger gazing at the group but paid no heed to his sudden appearance as he put all of his focus on the girl and his question, as selfish as it sounded.
"If you don't know what it is, could you please ask someone around here?" Other questions burned in his mind, but right now a simple phone call was first on his list of priorities.

The loris was quick to pop onto feet, and reward her guests' senses of adventure by promptly topping off their butter teas, much to the chagrin of likely everyone present but the enormous cat. As she made her rounds amid the group, Desmond's question drew her attention, and she turned to address him, hugging the large clay jar to the outside of her hip. She'd barely parted her lips to answer, however, when cut off by the ferret's presumptuous lack of tact.
"We have satellite phone in other room," bristled the girl, drawing herself up a little straighter. "But is no work right now, because of Eggman rule."

The door was wide open, so the boar wasn't all that hidden from view. Poking even half of his head around the corner necessitated that a good portion of his gut follow under it.
"... heh," he snorted in a single huff at the feline's linguistic bumble.
He leaned a little farther in, then took a step. "I thought I heard English," he commented, grinning as he began to encroach on their room, taking another sweeping glance at the occupants.
"Tashi delek Latika la," he greeted the wiry girl with the tea, almost in a quiet grunt, with a glance and nod. The floor groaned in protest against his first heavy step.

The indignant loris' sulk fled in a hurry simultaneous to the boar's entrance; her pout broke into a radiant smile as she turned toward the sound of his voice, and set her pot back onto the table.
"Mr. Casey!" she chirped, taking a languid step nearer. In an awkward juxtaposition of social protocols, the ruddy girl dipped forward at the waist, drawing a corners of her skirt outward one ankle crossed before the other as she enthusiastically asked, "What is up today?"

"Ahah, ha," he ("Mr. Casey" apparently) laughed as if caught off guard by the greeting. "You're talkin' more an' more like a real Federation girl," the boar declared, almost in congratulation, as he took another couple steps in, leering toward the clay vessel Latika was carrying, and looking far too interested in the Mysterious Purple Stuff.
He was now fully in the room. It became unquestionable fact that he had a machine gun instead of a right arm.

Yet another unfamiliar face. Geoff, really, shouldn't have expected much else, but he was already feeling a light amount of awkwardness being all around these foreigners. No, he wasn't against Chun-nan or its residents, but just being suddenly tossed into the culture without even the courtesy of a warning — not even to mention the communication barrier — was proving to be daunting.
So it couldn't be much of a surprise when his face seemed to express "oh thank god" when the boar began to speak.
The hedgehog would soon be found moving out of his low-built bed to properly, for this time, try to give out a greeting.
"Nice to see someone from our side of the planet," he said, addressing Casey with a hint of a smile, holding out a hand. "Or I at least assume as much."
It would take Geoff a moment to realize he was, in fact, trying to shake hands with a man who happened to have a gun as a arm. Foul luck could only be blamed that he was using the exact wrong hand as well.

Eggman rule, the girl had said. Almost inaudible, he mumbled: "Yeah, now it's run by crazy monkeys."
However. Oh good, Mako's internal voice said as Casey began to talk, before he even looked, someone who actually speaks the languAAAHGUGUH GUN ARM. The shark blinked a couple times, looking between the loris and the porcine newcomer, and... continued to blink a few times.
Big was shaking his again-emptied bowl of butter tea above his head, trying to free from it the last drops. One of the precious(?) drops splattered into his eye, and he rubbed at it with one arm. "Huhmhmm."
He sounded disappointed.
Watching as Geoff approached the new man, Mako gritted his teeth and breathed out through them. Slowly he shed his blanket cocoon onto the short little bed.
"Uhm, who's he?" he said to the primate girl, pointing between her and the pig.

The wide-eyed loris looked as though the pig had told her she had a smile made of pure sunshine, the way she suddenly looked so pleased; she even did an elated little twirl in place before dipping her head forward in gratitude, with an acknowledging, "I have been trying hard in practice!"
But look at her manners! their hostess had become so enthralled with the notion of talking like a real Federation girl, that she had allowed cups to run empty! Shuffling back towards the table at what one could only presume was a harried speed for her, the spindly teen filled a new bowl, and pushed it into the boar's only available hand before moving along to retrieve Big's.
"This Mister Casey!," answered the peppy primate, turning toward the shark. "Mr. Casey come for exploring Qomolangma to in search of treasures and fame! He help me learn my English better with fiction books."

Casey grabbed the green hedgehog's hand with his left hand. Regardless of how awkward it may have been, it was more elegant than using his, well, gunarm. (This was presumably an issue Casey was used to, judging by how casual he was in the same-side handshake.)
The hog was taking a big, heavy gulp of the thick, stomach-roiling butter tea (as if he actually liked it) when the peppy loris made that comment about his reasons for being there. He sort of snorted into the cup, as if laughing at the romanticism of it, but didn't stop drinking until he'd emptied the whole vessel.
"H-ahhh," he exhaled, satisfied, and wiped his mouth lightly on the top of his glove.
"So!" he suddenly blurted. "Not the conventional travelin' folk, are ya now?" He clucked his tongue once or twice, glancing between Geoff and the others. He almost seemed to be sizing them up. "Iffin' y'don't mind my askin' about'cher crash, how's it a crew like you ended up a place like this by accident?"

"We crashed down from the space because the wrong person got ticked off", Ember answered as she strode over to Casey. Peering closer at the gun, she gave a nod towards it.
"So, is that a real gun? I mean, course it is, but doesn't it fire? I once thought about doing something like that, wasn't a gun though, but never actually seen one." Luckily the bandage reminded her to keep from blathering on and she simply settled for giving light pokes at the shining gun. Far away from anything important though.
