Sonic Spindash RP is closed.

Founded 05/25/2002 by three friends; ended 09/19/2012.

It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

"What?" replied Juke indignantly to Coop, turning with swagger and tilting his head back cockily. "Whaddayou want me to tell you? I said nobody knows."

While enjoying his small meal , Desmond became completely oblivious to the surroundings about him.

As his taste buds kept him inattentive, he failed to take apprehension on the bird flying beside his hidden location. He heard a foot step but neglected to further investigate the possibility of an intruder.

"Hey blondie! What's a-cookin?" The words caused him to jump a bit, turn around slowly to avoid possibly getting shot, and by the time he actually got to see the person addressing his presence, give a bewildered look the the girl who spotted him. "Hmm," he began to think "What is this cute little lady doing in a dessert?" Before long his admiration of her figure let his mind wonder off and they began to converse like two friends who haven't seen each other in a long time.

He heard another voice call on the girl, whose name apparently was Ember. "Ember, huh? That's a kinda cute name." He then realized that he had spoken aloud and quickly shifted his gaze at the ground. "Wow, smooth move man."

“...You’re going to tell me something,” said Coop.

He grabbed at the scruff of the bat’s neck, and began to trudge across the expanse of desert towards the stack of boxes that the thugs had violated. On top of one of them, the coffee maker made quiet hissing noises, as it slowly, remorselessly distilled the freshly brewed, reasonable-quality officer’s requisition coffee into a tarry, obsidian-coloured sludge.

He dropped the bat on the sand and picked up the coffee maker. He poured a cup out and stared at it grimly. It smelled like used shorts, and bore a thin, dancing rainbow slick on its surface.

“Well,” he said, almost to himself, “it’d be a shame to let all this go to waste by sticking your ugly face in it.”

“Who knows how to open this up,” he added, gesturing at the largely intractable appliance, “anyone? Is there an instruction manual or something?”

“Shadow, you’re alive!” exclaimed Tails, “what happened? Are you ok?"

Juke struggled and fought all the way over, grunting and swinging and kicking, but stopped abruptly when dropped. The scraggly, yellow-and-black-leather'd purple bat slowly picked himself up and dusted himself off, scowling.

"Don't be dense, Coop," he sputtered. "Don't you get it?" His voice became hushed. "I didn't tell anybody 'cept these guys because I wanted to keep it to myself. If we caught that kid and his friend," insert a nod toward Tails, "Eggman'd make us rich. There's a solid mil bounty on his lil' mutant bee-hind!"

He sidled up next to Coop.

"Imagine what we could do with that money. Even for a good cause. I mean, look at it—we ain't gettin' nothin' done crawlin' around out here in holes in the dirt, are we?"

Coop took a sip of the coffee, and made a faint grimace, as if he was remembering something unpleasant that happened a long time ago. The coffee slopped against the inside of the cup as he put it down. A couple bubbles moved across its surface.

He swallowed the sip of coffee.

He looked around.

“Oh no,” he muttered, “what’s happening now.”

“You,” he said, pointing at the jackal.

“What’s wrong. Are you ok?”

“Is he okay?”

He jogged half of the distance, and peered over at where the jackal lay.

Letting out a laugh, she gave him a wink.

"Wait till you see how I got it. So now, what is a stranger like you doin' firing at random people? Not always cool dude," she playfully chided, "Though in this case thanks."

Ace's voice rang in her ears and she turned back to face him. Calling down, she answered, "Do now! His name's-shoot."

Glancing over her shoulder, she asked, "So what's your name anyways blondie?"

"I'm—" Hack, sputter, cough. "I'm fine."

Shadow lightly pushed the two-tailed fox away, regaining balance and proper functionality.

"Where is—"

He paused, the uncompleted question lingering in the air as the reasoning for its origin seemed to flood back into his memory. The black hedgehog's eyes suddenly focused, targeting the shade-wearing bat amongst the crates. Dripping of water and a bit scorched, he now began a steady, fist-clenched march towards Juke, his eyes sharp as knives.

Geoff, having noted Ace's exclamations, wandered over as well to the downed jackal and assisting cat. A light look of concern flickered across his eyes at Midian's state. In the midst of the fighting, the hedgehog hadn't gained much of a chance to see how all the others were faring, so what exactly had happened to Midian (or what he'd done, for that matter) was unknown to Geoff. For the moment, he just gave them space, simply being the observer ready to step in if need be.

"Desmond" the ferret calmly answered, perplexed by her somewhat cryptic words.

In retrospect he was thoroughly embarrassed by her, in his mind, mocking laugh. "Alright, turn the tides in your favor" he thought, planning ahead again after his somewhat disgraceful collection of blunders (which would have had him running laps back in boot camp).

"So what exactly is going on?" he asked "An update would be pretty nice considering I apparently shot the right guy on my first try."

"Well gee Desmond, I can't go telling all at once ya know. Besides, we're nice guys and all. Not like we'll tie you up with your tail or nothin'."

Grabbing his hand, she gave it a gentle tug.

"Tell you what. Tell us what you're doing out here and we'll return the favor. Have a little chit chat pow-wow thing."

Ace glanced behind him at the 'traitor' in question, only to find that he wouldn't be left unattended for very long. "Somethin' tells me that's under control," he answered, and turned his attention to Coop, instead. "Think so... I dunno."

Without any prompt, he helped the man back up on his feet, steadying him like a crooked teapot full of hot water. "The coffee really didn't agree with you, huh?" A joke to lighten tension. "Damn, man, you shoulda told us about this..."

Juke looked at Coop like he was an alien ascending back to the mothership. It was a little bizarre for someone to sling around threats then just... walk off. Did it mean something? Did he agree even? Probably not. Everyone knew Coop was a little stark-raving mad in his own way.

Juke started to turn his gaze back toward Tails, as if to finish what he came for while everyone was distracted, but instead, all he saw was Shadow approaching.

Now, Juke didn't know everything Shadow was capable of, but he did know the guy was a friend of Sonic, and that he had just picked himself up from being shot in the head with an energy cannon a minute ago. The bat's brows raised, the hair on his head fuzzed up (more than usual), and fight or flight instinct kicked in—and flight won.

Fwoosh went Juke straight up into the air and away without another word. *Flappaflappaflap...*

Midian didn't really have anything else to say about it, or if he did, didn't feel up to saying it at the moment. He soon supported enough of his own weight and stood with good enough balance to start dragging off toward a seemingly specific destination.

"M'alright," he murmured. "Just need to... get to my tent for somethin'." His usual accent was fully gone. Whether it was just because he was coincidentally slurring, or something else, was hard to tell.

"It's a deal" he nonchalantly answered back, trying to regain his composure (and his shot pride after a series of fails)

He held that thought as he went to gather his supplies, noting a figure shooting off into the air. He aimed his rifle at the target, and then fired one tranquilizer dart. "miss" he exclaimed, as though expecting the results. He then returned to collecting his things.

Finished packing, he strolled down the mountain, highly curious and a bit anxious towards meeting the colorful crew he inadvertently joined.

In order for a non-lethal projectile such as a tranquilizer dart to avoid becoming little more than an especially pointy lethal bullet, it had to have low velocity. Low velocity plus great distance plus erratically-flying bat indeed rendered no hit, and Juke flew onward and away, unaware he had been shot at.

Shadow, with a prominent scowl, watched the bat fly for freedom. He came to a halt, his red eyes tracking the fleeing Juke for a moment longer before he let his gaze lower. Whether he'd been considering on taking chase or not seemed to be buried under the sudden sight of the many other dispatched thugs that were scattered around the camp. What all had occurred during his time unconscious was becoming clear now.

"Do you typically trust anyone around here?" asked the black hedgehog suddenly, his voice fierce as he approached the group. "Or is it in your grand scheme to make sure your location is known by any passing delinquent?"

With his demeanor already fouled by singed quills and cold water, Shadow's angry glare was something that not many would take lightly.

Tabitha was not large. She was not intimidating, or formidable, and thus had no hope to play the bad cop the situation had so desperately called for. This, and this alone had been the only reason she stepped back to let Coop take over the interrogation, looking only mildly bewildered as she retreated to the sidelines. It soon became apparent, however, that perhaps she might have been better off playing the loose cannon, herself, since she, rhetorically, would actually be playing, whereas the vast eagle's cannon was so poorly tethered, it went rolling off the deck to muse over coffee and a comrade who, while ailing, was already being tended to.

It was, therefore, with a heavy sigh and slumped shoulders that the striped cat watched their traitor flap off into the sunset, entirely too unscathed.

"Cool it," she snapped to the hedgehog's sarcasm, uncommonly terse. "You just got here, so don't act like you know what's going on. He was one of the refugees from that party Eggman's new lapdogs tried to turn over. When people need help, I don't make it a policy to judge whether or not they deserve it, but if you do..."

Crossing her arms, Tabby took a deep, steadying breath in through her nose, drew herself up to her full (unimpressive, albeit still-taller-than-Shadow) height, and concluded in a forcibly level tone, "Well, I guess you'll find we don't deserve yours."
