Updates Sonic Spindash RP is closed.Founded 05/25/2002 by three friends; ended 09/19/2012.
It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.
Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.
I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.
I love you guys. God bless.

Geoff only watched the proceedings, the information seeming to conclude quite a few things about what they were supposed to accomplish. If Sonic 't had been unable to take down their intended target, how could they, a bunch of ragtag "rebels", do what the #1 Eggman fighter couldn't? At least Tails was trying to give some sort of answer involving the belts. The constant reminders of the terrible consequences that could occur because of these things weren't very reassuring, though.
"How are these going to help?" he asked, glancing to the belt around Tails' waist. "Go invisible, like we figured out they could do? Or is there some other function?"

Shadow wandered off, disinterested. He didn't need Nocturnus technology. However, Rouge had said she brought weapons, and so it seemed he gravitated toward their crate. No, it didn't matter that he was already a superpowered, energy-wielding super-speeder with teleportation abilities. He took every advantage he could get in every situation.

Midian watched the demonstration and instruction with his cheek resting on his hand, elbow resting on his other arm folded across his body, a look of general concern plastered across his mug.
Aside, in Ace's ear (probably while Tails continued to explain), he whispered, "After seeing that thing in the parking garage, I think I'll just... I'll just wear some leaves, 'n twigs, and... facepaint, or somethin' such for stealth. Or maybe a nice horse costume. Want to share a horse costume? I'll even let you be the head if you like."

Meanwhile, Shadow would find Juke, of all people, digging around in the weapon crate. Where had he even been? No one had seen him for at least a day or so, but, whatever the case, it seemed he hadn't run off.
Still, the scuzzy purple bat touched things he frankly ought not have had any access to whatsoever. Guns, guns, guns—not conventional, deadly firearms, but nonetheless powerful directed energy weapons too pricy and too dangerous for one of his... competence. Standing next to Shadow, he picked up a particularly large, shotgun-like handheld energy cannon. He handled it cautiously, maybe even reverently enough, delicately turning it from side to side, examining its switches and buttons. Soon, it let out a small, silent power-up whine as he turned it on and charged its capacitors.
He then unceremoniously turned and shot Shadow in the head with it.*P'TUM.*There was a great flash and a blast of heat that even others standing nearby could feel as the hedgehog went sprawling and skidding limply across the dusty ground. He rolled into the water, smoldering and unconscious.

Midian wasn't the only one who seemed put off by the Nocturnus contraband. As if the at best curious and at worst unsettling incident in the parking garage hadn't been clear enough indication that the belts were not to be trusted, Tails' expert diagnosis of "don't ever, ever touch this" seemed to permanently fix the oddities on Tabitha's list of suspicious naughty things that people for some reason like along with sniffing markers and MMOs.
Though already standing well away from the group at large, the cat edged backwards another pace or two, but made it a full-scale retreat behind a crate as the decidedly homelier of the bat(where did he even come from?)s' hapless misfire incapacitated their new trump card. With eyes the size of dinner plates, a stick-straight bottle brush tail, and ears laid flat against her head, Tabby peered sheepishly over the edge of her cover, and slowly brought her hands up over her open mouth. It was around then that their chances of success clarified.
"...We're so screwed."

The serval managed to stifle a snort of laughter from his throat from being heard by too many people. "Yeah, well, they sure won't be expecting that," he hushed back.
Meanwhile...
"Hey Juke" beckoned Flex, marching up to him a from few steps behind. "Where's-- ha-ha," (he caught a look at Shadow's unconscious body,) "Where's the bathroom out here. My hands are all HOT 'n' stuff. It sucks."
Whereas Ace was not so carefree, when it turned out whatever that sudden flash and zap was was not part of his agenda. If Tails was still explaining, he wouldn't be for long. "He-hey, hold up. Did anyone else just... see that, back there?"

And arriving along with Flex came a swaggering, staggering gaggle of miscreants wielding bats, chains, and stun batons. Some of the ten or so thugs even wore Eggman Army uniforms. None were terribly recognizable to the group, though.
"Out here in the wilds," replied Juke to Flex as he tossed the bear his gun, "it's wherever you aim."
He grabbed a new weapon from the box, swiveled, and opened fire directly into the lingering group, popping scattering bolts of energy off at Ace, Geoff, Tails, or really anybody who stood still too long. His posse of miscreants charged, too.

Tails had just finished explaining the variety of buttons that could not under any circumstances be touched and was about to begin explaining which ones they COULD use, when there was a flash and a wash of heat.
“Shadow!” The fox yelped, beginning to run to the black hedgehog who was now sinking awkwardly in the oasis.

Rouge shot out a hand and grabbed the young fox's wrist.
"No," she said. Her eyes darted to the belt in the boy's hands. "give me that."
She pulled at the belt, and, assuming he gave it up, slipped it on, slapped her hand down on a control on its surface, and vanished.

Tails let go, reflexively, as Rouge grabbed for the belt—he stared as she disappeared, watching where she had gone blankly for a few seconds before realization dawned.
“Oh!” he said, “if we use the belts to disappear, we can fight them without being seen!”
He ran back to a fallen rock slab near the center of the lagoon that he had set up as a makeshift desk and snatched up another one of the belts. There was a flurry of motion, and then he disappeared into space surrounding him with barely a breath of disturbed air in his wake.

"AAAWWWW YEEEAAAHH," announced the grizzly bear, all too pleased to finally get his hands on some heavy ordinance. "THE WORLD IS MY BATHROOM."
Sadly enough, that was probably the smartest thing he'd said all week.
Even so, Tails wouldn't have things as easy as he'd have liked, because it didn't take long for the grizzly to start releasing Hell from his barrel. Even though he started shooting before he started aiming at anything, it didn't take long to find the two tailed fox on the wanted posters, expositioning to his imaginary friend. "HEY, GET OVER HERE, HAHA." Bt'choom, bt'choom. "I HAVE CANDY. I HAVE CANDY IN MY POCKET, COME HERE. HA."

At least the morning was far less dull now. Ember could never get into planning talk anyways. Especially with that spiky uber-serious dude. It was like he was a robot or something. Then again, she wouldn't be surprised.
Now though, she didn't have to worry about maybe robots. Instead some idiots with guns had crashed the party. The best kind of idiots for sure. Dropping the cup of coffee she had just poured, she ducked down and started to speed towards the spot where the fox kid had dissapeared. Amidst the gun fire she felt like a giant red target. Flying would be stupid. Aliens belts it was!
Maybe then she could toast that loud bear. Probably scream like a little girl when his tail end was set alight.
Diving behind the primitive 'desk', she took cover from the wild shots.
"Ya know, this kinda feels like some ol' cowboy movie."

Geoff was completely lost to what was occurring when the first audible thump of energy that managed to KO the red-streaked hedgehog reached his ears. It only took Ace's questioning, a turn on a heel, and the sight of the incoming troupe of hoodlums to get the intuition that things were about to go terribly wrong. He only had a brief moment to actually make out who was approaching.
Thugs, bats, and bears. Oh my.
A burning trail of energy barely skimming past his face managed to kick the green hedgehog into gear, leaping clear out of the way of the incoming fire in an attempt to protect himself. Rolling after the dive, barely avoiding more of the hail of gunfire, he managed to go into a crouch behind one of the numerous crates situated within the gorge.
Great. Just great. And to think he, at one time, complimented Juke.
At least Rouge and Tails seemed to be getting the right idea of using the belts to their advantage... or so it would be if the general area surrounding the alien equipment wasn't under the brightly lit fire of the bear. However, the chances of the fox having managed to escape the onslaught were pretty slim, meaning it could be a matter of seconds before Tails popped back into existence, except then a bit more fried. That sort of imagery wouldn't sit anyone, so, of course, action was needed.
It wasn't long before a spinning ball of crystal and quills was aimed right at Flex's legs.
Geoff would probably regret this idea.

At some point in all this hubbub, Mako had taken off after Shadow, and made rather-impressive dive into the water. It was not a rescue attempt, but rather a move to get very much out of the line of fire. Hey, the method of "run and hide in water" had served him well before.
Regardless, a second or two later his little blue be-finned head just barely breeched the surface of the drink, watching as discreetly as he could.Rodolf, meanwhile, had a face of pure not-impressed the moment Juke and company made their presence known. It wasn't even disdain or distaste, simply a flat expression of unamusement. However, after a short bout in trying-not-to-get-shot, he caught a look out of the corner of his eye of the green hedgehog in their company rushing at Flex. Geoff was going to regret that idea, the unicorn had no doubt in his mind.
... just as Rodolf was going to regret that he took a sidestep and proceeded to rush at the BEAR from another angle, putting his head down in his usual horn-first charge. (After all, when all you have is a hammer, all problems look like nails.)Big stood there like a big purple wall, blinking. It was his only defense. He stood with such a total blank stare that he did not notice the tiny arrival near his feet.*ribbit*

Tabby was already on the run. It was purely the fear of finding out first-hand how much Shadow was going to hurt when he came to that kept her moving. Even barring the fact that she had absolutely no means with which to dispatch a pair of gun-toting ruffians, though, she'd not just run for the hills and abandon her comrades.
That meant going for the turncoat bat's not-so-well equipped backup.
The striped sprinter hurtled brazenly at the the scuzzy rat with wings, kicked off the ground hard, and vaulted over him, seamlessly making a snatch at the shades on his face as she passed overhead. Whether or not successful in demystifying Juke, she came down with a succinct crash on the head of some unsuspecting goon with a chain, and took off running again.
