Contrast to the other individuals in uniform, Caz regarded the cop speeder onslaught with... little to no acknowledgement at all, still busy staring emptily at the escape path the club's attendees had taken. Strange how their roles seemed to switch like that. Whether it was the official attire she wore, or simple dumb luck was impossible to tell, but all the clanging bedlam of clashing metal seemed to avoid her by mere feet, until she finally summoned the will to walk (yes, walk) to an corner of the room off the side to the stairs left uninvaded, and plop her keester on a stool against the wall. Given the circumstances, the speeders were a decent enough excuse to take a time out break.
Elsewhere, it didn't take long before Ace was among the escapees numbers. He didn't have much to say either, aside from an emphatic "Move it!" for Rodolf's sake. That should've been all the confirmation he needed to know, there was nothing left in that club worth taking with them.
...The way that sentence was put together in his head hit him hard with another few seconds of silence. He clambered back into a corner of the vehicle's back, banging twice on the driver's backseat when everyone was there (or the cop speeders just came too close) as a sign to get the Hell outta Gigalopolis. If granted the time, it was the perfect opportunity to stop and catch his breath, along with the rest of his brain. Given the circumstances, the speeders were a decent enough excuse to take a time out break.

As soon as Ace passed him, Rodolf bounced on the balls of his feet a couple times and then followed suit, tapping into one last reservoir of energy to close the distance between himself at their transport, leaping in in one smooth action...
And the visibly wobbled, stumbled over his feet, and very nearly collapsed onto the floor the second he came to a stop inside.
"Well, that went well," he drawled, dropping to kneel on the floor.

Ace didn't even bother looking at Rodolf, to say it. "Shut up."

Some of the Cop Speeders did not enter the club at all. As aforementioned, they stayed outside and immediately gave chase to Geoff and others, all the way to the van, and directly into its side.
Yes, at least a few of the annoying little five-foot-long hovercrafts rammed into the van full force, jostling and scooting the also-hovering larger vehicle sideways. At least one Cop Speeder tried to enter the van itself and ram its occupants.

Of course, by then, Midian was already flooring it, or... well, trying to. The Cop Speeders' concerted effort to push them around made driving a hovering vehicle kind of hard, and caused them to turn involuntarily in a direction no one wanted to go, pointing their vehicle's nose awkwardly at the side of a building while he struggled to get right and get going some way that would actually get them out of there.
"These damn...!"
*Bomp, bonk, bramp, KRUNK* went the Cop Speeders continuously, pushing while their sirens screamed in everyone's ears. Midian's complaint disappeared under all this crap combined with the whirring of engines and noise of wind as they went hurtling and twisting down the street... and sidewalk... (There were also the noises of all kinds of things one would normally find on a sidewalk being run over.)

Ember wondered vaugely if she had jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire like she had done many times before. Then again, being in the van did seem somewhat safer. So long as they didn't crash. Then again maybe they would be lucky and take out a few of those robo-cops. In a massive explosion maybe.
That would be pretty awesome. Other than the dying bit.

One of the Cop Speeders, whooping and bleeping, nosed its way through the a set of double doors into a kitchen which was—
empty of people.
For the next four seconds that the Cop Speeder was functional, it saw a large plastic pail that might have once held some cleaning product, duct taped shut. Beside the plastic pail were a few dozen unlabelled cans that had been crushed until they split open, dish soap, string, matches, a couple bottles of different things, an unravelled roll of tin foil, and an empty cardboard box that looked like it was labelled—
there was a POW, and then bucket erupted
then there was a WHOOMF-BOOM, and the air was filled with fire.
The walls of the kitchen bowed out like a soap bubble, and dissolved into splinters. The roof above the kitchen peeled open, and a huge cloud of tar-black smoke curled into the air. Fire splashed out across the club floor near the kitchen. Seat upholstery charred and shrivelled, varnish began to peel off the tables, and the room began to burn.

Back inside the club, Rock winced and shielded his face from the wave of heat washing over him. It was like someone had just opened an oven door in his face. He squinted through the gaps in the fingers of his upheld hand and blurted a laugh as water began to pour down from the fire sprinkler. Of course the blast had come from the kitchen.
"Called it."
He wiped some water out of his eyes and blinked a few times as he turned away from the spectacle, then made a few wild, broad motions with his arms toward Jam and Caz. He was soon on his way up the stairs toward the front door of the club, so as to exit before the whole place burned down, or before anything else blew up.

Jam was neither especially interested in Ace and her new coworker's private affairs, nor was she feeling particularly nosy at the moment, but she needn't have paid excessive attention to the exchange to realize, from Caz's reaction alone, that it hadn't gone well. Warring with her concrete desire to at all costs avoid the touchy-feely, the slighter of the primates groaned internally at her nagging conscience, and vaulted over the dining area railing from a dead stand-still. She landed in a short-lived crouch that segued immediately, and cleanly into a swift stride that carried her towards the mole.
Then, explosions. No one who knew Coop would have bothered to disagree with Rock's prediction. Jam literally went stumbling forward a few steps with the alarm of the noise, and nearly fell victim to a rampaging Cop Speeder, had she not clumsily side-stepped and spun at the last possible millisecond.
"Yeah, yeah," she called through an initial hack at the sudden air pollution, batting ineffectually at the wafting smoke. "You're a regular Miss Theo. Let's get the hell out!"
She beelined for Caz, made a mad grab for the most convenient arm, and hauled.
Tabitha was jostled. Like, literally, and in any other sense of the term. Aside from the Cop Speeders' enthusiastically violent game of monkey in the middle (in which Midian's commandeered van occupied the roles of both ball and monkey), the pre-flight drama had been rather confusing, and stressful, as well. In fact, the only portion of the last several minutes that the girl had really felt some semblance of control in was the part where all she'd had to do was run. The rest of the day -- at the very least -- was apparently going to be interesting.
For the time being, though, Tabby just kept quiet, and held on.

The golden griffin couldn't help but pause at the transport when it stopped, even drawing a gun (which she isn't supposed to have, but no doubt went threw some trouble to keep). But Mako and Geoff made it clear that the carrier was a friendly. so she tucked the gun back into her long coat as she ran after them fluttering inside after Geoff.
"I don't know who you are, but I reckon I owe ya a beer." She said to the J\jackal once inside.
Thankful as she was, something about all this wasn't adding up. Rock wasn't operating with the sort of strategic insight she'd known him for. Sure he could be hindered by some sort of inadequacy of the Egg-machine, but she thought even then he'd make the best out of the tools given to him. Either he was setting them up or had let them escape. Either way, she was sure they'd be seeing the monkeys again. And probably soon.

A little later that night, after a great deal of struggling against Cop Speeders, Buzz Bombers, and everything else under the sun, their van finally escaped notice long enough to whiz into a partially-demolished parking garage, where they came to rest somewhere around a corner on the fourth floor and lost their pursuers. The van, which had started the drive mostly pristine, already looked ready for the junkyard. It had been a harrowing experience. For the first time, Midian had gotten pretty cranky with his cohorts, when most everyone seemed happy to ride, yet few to none seemed inclined to get rid of the Cop Speeders ramming them nonstop at first. At one point he had blurted something pretty much incomprehensible that sounded like it was at least intended to be English but came nowhere identifiably close. Nonetheless, the way he said it had made it clear he wasn't too thrilled with their prospects. Once they stopped, though, he seemed to center and simmer down a little. He still ditched the vehicle and went striding off elsewhere in the garage as soon as the engine cut. And so, it was suddenly quiet. Sirens faded from earshot and were replaced by nothing but the sounds of a vanload of stressed people unloading in a barren, rubble-filled parking garage. The cityscape all around them, beyond the parking garage's "windows" (or rather, open spaces between levels), continued on as before, with smokey factories churning (as they did all hours of the night, now), cars whooshing by, and robots patrolling. The question that had to be on everyone's minds: What now?

Coop hopped out of the van awkwardly.
He straightened up and stretched, his back making a noise like a string of distant castanets as he did so. He had landed on the roof of the van shortly after it left, and had been cooped up¹ for a long enough time that his spine had assumed, for all purposes of consideration, what might as well have been a complete pretzel shape.
He twisted around, back, forward; crackle cronkle pop.
“So,” he said, “wow. That could have gone better. Now what? Wait for it to blow over, or is there something we can do with our time—anybody know whose van we stole?"
¹ahahahaha lol

Rodolf stumbled his way out of the van, and proceeded to immediately lean against it for support. He placed one hand against his head, patting at a bit of matted-down, uncomfortably damp, stained-red-brown hair.
"I think it went great," he remarked offhandedly in response to Coop's remark, and it was... honestly hard to tell if he was being sarcastic or not. While it wasn't meant at face-value, he seemed to have blown off an incredible amount of pent-up steam in the process of getting knocked around, and was a little less sour. Regardless, he looked around (and his head spun for a moment as he did so).
Fresh out of ideas.
Mako hopped out alongside, groaning. He was tired and achey and had been sitting in a less-than-comfortable position on the turbulent ride; altogether, an incredibly sore shark. He winced as his scraped-up tail hit the ground, but he wasi in far better condition than... others.
He cast a look in the direction of the retreated jackal, and frowned as he looked in the general direction from which they had entered.
"... I hope someone has a plan for getting us out of here," Mako remarked, "'less we wanna re-make base here."

"Might be for the best," grunted Geoff as he hopped out of the van door. "Not like we can just stroll out of here without another cop bearing down on us."
He grimaced in slight annoyance from a bruise marking one of his elbows (he'd been caught by surprise by one of Midian's swerving attempts to avoid the Speeders), but for the most part, he was in one piece. He already knew things could have turned out way worse than they had, the only man they had gaining any sort of injury being that of Rodolph.
Speaking of which, he eyed the unicorn for a moment.
"...you going to be okay?"

“Hrmph,” the eagle grunted, in agreement, “and... what happened there, anyway? I mean. I get,” he smiled a bitter, lop-sided smile, “that you attacked that monkey. Believe me, I’ve been there; he has a really punchable face.”
“I guess that explains why you look the way you do, too. Hrngheh.”
He stood up. He stumped about ten paces into the open space of the parking garage and looked around, aimlessly.
