It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

The sudden silence was punctuated a short series of pants, that slowly died down into simple, drawn out breaths. "Heh," he finally said, a crooked, yet satisfied grin crawling over his muzzle. "Haha! ...Damn."

He stepped back once or twice, and surveyed the wreckage around them. It was a marvelous demonstration indeed; perhaps better than he'd hoped. "You guys aren't so damn bad," he finally assessed. "S'everyone okay?"

Curiously, as Ace congratulated them on their not-so-baddery, Midian was standing by the pond's edge, carefully pointing the Egg Robo's beam gun down into the clear waters where Big's quarry had sunken just seconds before.

...

*BZZEEM.* Again.

A big rush of bubbles came up, followed by a curiously large, glowing orb containing what looked like a little bird. *Pop* — and it flew away.

The jackal hefted the overweight beam gun onto his shoulder, then returned attention to the others. "No Flicky left behind," he explained his actions jovially with a satisfied smile... which faded as he shifted uncomfortably with the weapon, then dumped the clunky thing on the ground with a grunt. Too heavy.

"What say we start setting up camp just now, yeah? Perhaps we can have something resembling half-livable before the others return, even."

Big would have been listening to Midian's comment if he hadn't lumbered over to the side of the pond, peering down into the water not far from where the robot had sunk. He blinked a couple times, and tilted his head.

Yes, there was definitely a dark shape down there.

Big was filled with the distinct wish that his fishing pole was still intact-- and then distracted as the shape grew bigger, and bigger, and then, finally--
*sploosh*

A fishy head popped out of the water; lower down, a big fishy tail beat back and forth, as the arms of the thing with the fihsy head and fishy tail moved back and forth to tread water.

"Could you watch where you're firin' that thi--"

Mako cut himself short. Wide orange eyes were staring straight at Big's beady yellow ones.

Big's beady yellow eyes were not focused there. No, they were focused on what was perched atop that fishy head.

*ribbit.*

"Froggy!"
Big reached into the water and pulled Mako out of the water wholesale, hooking his hands under the fish's arms. This was a bit excessive, perhaps, to retrieve the amphibian, but fine motor control was not Big's forte.

Giant purple thing that could lift him with ease, grabbing him wholesale.

...
Again.
"AUUUUGH!"

The satisfaction of helping defeat the robot intruders wore off with the antics of Big and the new sharky arrival. His face was already in his palm before he nodded and answered Midian's question. "Yes, I believe our work should start in earnest, before some other horrible deadly interruption shows up and puts this off even longer."

On the subject of interruptions, Aga's words fell on heavily distracted ears while Ace pondered the meaning of what prompted such odd behavior from what was likely their oddest party member. Although he apparently didn't see the need to take any immediate action, fine with simply furrowing his brows and watching the spectacle unfold for a few seconds longer.

"...Oh."

Then he remembered that he actually knew this be-gilled character. From... somewhere. At last, he stepped in to intervene.

"'Ey, 'ey, Big. Put-- put the guy down. He's uh, he's a friend. Good guy."

Big seemed not to really grasp, for a moment, the fact that he was holding a person outside of a vague something that Froggy was sitting on. After a moment though (at Ace's comment), he tilted his head and looked from Froggy to Mako, blinked a couple times, and then: "Oh!" He gently set the shark down, and then plucked the frog from atop his be-finned head. Big smiled serenely, holding the amphibian with both hands. "I'm Big," he said to the shaken shark.

"... So you are."

Big nodded, but looking down at the frog he held. *ribbit* The cat was utterly contented, and now -- on extreme delay, he turned to Midian. "I can move stuff!"

"Why does the world hate me? I'm so lovable!" Mako lamented to nobody in particular as he shook his leg as though to get water out of his shoe. He then took a look around him. Lessee-- giant cat (demon?), weird fish-thing, dog he didn't know, and--
Hey, look! Cat he kind of knew! (... wasn't he usually with those monkeys, though?)

"Thanks," he said to Ace, giving a sort of half-hearted wave and sheepish partial-smile.

Midian seemed like he might have been just the tiniest bit fazed by what was happening around him if only because his lengthy delay before replying to anyone. But, still, he just smiled to Big, nodded, and went "A'kay, then — well!" Ahem. "In a, aah, moment, we will... find a use for that specialty."

He didn't really have any idea where to get started with tasking people. It'd be simple enough if he was just worrying about himself, but instead, they had a rather... large group, not even counting whoever was coming from the ship. So, he took his best shot while he had Big and Aga's attention. (They were really the most opposite people on Earth, weren't they?) But, before any of that, there was someone new present to address—someone who may have been there all along.

"Pardon the ruckus please," said the lanky jackal as he approached. "Izz'is your... home?"

It felt like a peculiar choice of words, being that he was a shark, and the place was a set of ancient ruins in the middle of a desert, all in a land occupied by Dr. Eggman, but stranger things had happened.

Big smiled and nodded, and plopped down to sit on the ground, awaiting further instruction. Lo, the cat had his frog, and all was right with his world.

"... huh?" Mako asked, putting his hands behind his head as the jackal addressed him. He proceeded to cast a look around, and most pointedly, up, shading his eyes with one hand. Up the rocky walls, beyond the canyon, was a vast expanse of desert, with an all-too-bright (and all-too-hot) sun overhead. After a beat or two, he looked at Midian. "Yeahhh no."

The shark paused a second, and seemed to be counting something up mentally, his tongue poking out of the side of his mouth as he thought. He took a deep breath, and began to speak again. "I've been out here a coupla weeks. Two or three I think... it's kind of a long story." He smiled sheepishly again, "but, no, s'not where I actually live or anything. Just sorta... wound up here. Some robots seemed to... I donno, they said something about a forehead-mounted laser cannon or something. Donno where they got that idea."
Mako shrugged pointedly here, as though to say 'yeah, I dunno'. He motioned to the water, now. "Coupla underground rivers lead here. ... so here I am." It was all spoken relatively fast, as though he were trying to fit as much explanation as he could into a small space without being interrupted. "You're the first bunch I've seen here who aren't just more robot patrols."

He seemed to realize this didn't really explain much.
"... I realize that doesn't really explain much."

The entire time, Ace stroked handily at his nonexistent(?) beard, trying to recall exactly where he remembered this guy from. He should've been hard to forget in the first place, but by the time the shark finished his explanation, Ace snapped his gloved fingers in self-satisfied victory.

"Now I remember! You're the poor guy we found holed up in one of Eggman's 'specimen pods' in that cave. Hyeahah." He paused. "Er... me and some others."

He shook the thoughts out of his head, realizing his digression. "Well, you can take it easy for now. You might'a just swam your way into the most active anti-Eggman establishment on the whole island." And with that, he stepped to the side, allowing a full view of the lagoon and all its glory. The sand, the rock, the sun, and the whole four other people that inhabited it. "...It's a work in progress," he added.
