Sonic Spindash RP is closed.

Founded 05/25/2002 by three friends; ended 09/19/2012.

It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

"Wh- I— buh— don't actually tell me where you are, this's a radio! They might overhear!"

Never mind that he was the who had asked "Where are you?" At least his signal was getting much clearer. Juke must have been flying overhead.

"Look, I'll just go tell everybody you guys made it alright. We'll meet up tonight! Try not to blow our cover, rookie!"

There was a visible twitch in Ace's brow.

Click. "But you just--" Unclick. Deep breath. Click.

"Whatever. I'll keep a seat warm for you," he said, and promptly plopped his rear end back down where it was a few seconds ago. "And if any bad guys ask, we're still in space."

"..."

"Over."

Midian was standing not far from Ace, hands folded behind him, looking down at the seated cat and his radio by the time the exchange finished. He didn't comment on the conversation directly, but he did draw a deep breath, turn, look around, and survey their odd circumstances, especially Aga, the loud, bossy little busy-body he was. The jackal just exhaled slowly. Though there was just a hint of a smile on his face, it was not so much a genuinely happy one as a begrudgingly happy one, as of a man who was gracefully accepting difficult news.

"This place's 'bout to get very lively, isn't it?"

... He paused. His face made the most subtle shift to wry.

"May just need to tear down some'a these walls to make room."

Big had nodded happily along with whatever the strange little fishy-man had been saying, before the radio crackled to life. It was only now that he looked between Ace and Midian with a sort of bewildered expression. "... uhhh... what's going on?" he asked of the smaller cat, blinking a couple times.

And then Midian made his comment about tearing down walls.

"I can do that," he said simply, tilting his head to one side.
It was as though he had completely forgotten what Aga had said just moments ago. In fact, he probably had.

It was amazing. Aga's cheeks actually managed to go from pink to red as Midian spoke, and from red to reddest as Big chimed in. This was it. As far as he could tell he was surrounded by idiots who had no respect for the past. These are the people on whom the fate of the world's freedom hinged. He opened his mouth to say something devastatingly witty and just came out with an angry "HRGH" noise.

It took a quick closing of his eyes and counting backwards from ten in Spagonian before he was able to continue.

"Mr. Midian, Mr...Cat, I understand the need to make room but this entire area is a priceless archaeological find whose surface hasn't even been scratched yet," He paused and shifted his tone to one of grudging negotiation. "-but if we have to, then I can go and mark the walls that would have the least to lose from...renovation."

It hurt him to say that.

Ace answered the jackal with a controlled grin a half-apologetic expression that shrugged for him. "Nyeah, you could... say that."

He clipped the radio back to his belt for future use, and stretched his arms deeply, bones popping and cracking accordingly. "Well, you know what they say, Mr. ... ...Guy," he stated with subtle joviality, making the best of the situation with misfortune at another's expense (and really, he was setting himself up for it with that attitude of his). "No history like the present!"

And then suddenly, Egg Robos.

No, seriously—there was no warning at all. A group of five Egg Robos streaked straight down from the sky, into the gorge, flipped showily, and landed with a series of loud clangs straight on their feet, beam pistols in hand. But, they didn't start firing or acting aggressive just yet. (However, Aga may have opined differently; at least one of them managed to crush the top of a stone pillar while landing.)

"Stand at attention for Official Eggman Empire Business, transients and vagrants!" one announced in an obnoxious, electronic voice.

Big blinked a couple times, looking at the robots with a sort of childlike curiosity, as though he was completely failing to grasp what they were. (Again, this was a very real possibility.) Though he may have had a bit of a jolt of shock to start, that faded, and he tilted his head. They weren't attacking, yet, and as such he paid them very little notice for the time being.

He did, however, turn, and looked at the others around him. Big said, in as close to a whisper as he could manage, "What do those words mean?"

Something snapped in the back of Aga's mind, sending the axolotl spiraling into a sea of red hot rage, finally having been pushed to the brink of his (imaginary) infinite patience. Between the dense feline and the others he had been saddled with and the prospect of being suddenly harassed by Eggman's robots. The pillar? That was the last straw. Who knows what would have been gained from that valuable ancient archetecture?

Thus, his standing at attention was accompanied with balling his hands up, opening and closing his mouth wordlessly - meaning he wasn't going to be much help in answering Big - and his eyes bulging. In fact it wasn't a stand so much as a hunch.

He wanted to break everything not of historical value, starting with these robots.

"It means they don't like us," whispered the jackal in response to the cat.

For the time being, he didn't seem very concerned about the Egg Robos, but instead just stood there, hands on his sides, and watched and listened closely. Perhaps it was some manner of familiarity with the contraptions and their intrusions all over the place.

For a fleeting moment, the half-shocked, half-awkward-gawk Ace gave the perpetrating Eggbots made him seem like he'd been caught with his pants down. But it passed in a split second, and he stood himself up (slowly enough to not attract any potential quickdraw reactions from their blasters), and promptly... stood in place. He wasn't in the right mode to get into a fight, and it seemed like he was fine with keeping the violence to a minimum. But at the same time, his shifting eyes never glanced at something other than the robots or the scenery around him...

"You see, citizens," began one robot most haughtily, striding with hands folded behind his back in an overtly militaristic manner, "we just shot down an entire shipload of invading forces—enemies of the Eggman Empire. You! Homeless cat man!" (The robot was pointing at Ace.) "Have you seen any suspicious types around here? Anyone?"

Ace... really wasn't sure what to make of the situation. He didn't know Eggman robots were capable of exuding such layers of personality, and he looked fairly confused. Not enough to check if he was still dreaming, but enough to be only mildly offended when referred to as 'homeless cat man'.

"Uhp--" he started, but then paused, almost unsure how to approach this.

"..."

"...No?"

He shrugged, and shook his head.

"Oh," Big said, in response to Midian's (mercifully monosyllabic) answer, nodding his head.

He blinked a couple times, however, at the robot questioning of Ace. With the sort of thick-skulled simplicity only he could have, he said:
"Oh, it was you that shot us down?"

Meanwhile, nigh-imperceptibly, in the water all that far away, a little be-finned blue head poked up, looking in the general vicinity of the gathered (and the robots). A blink or two later, and it sunk back down without a word.

"..."

The logical response of course, was to stand there with the typical deer in the headlights expression... before springing into improv mode.

"...What-what-what-- my friend here means to say, is... is, ahh..."

"We were all out camping. And, we were playing, bingo," (he dipped his head on that last word, ashamed,) "Glorious, Egg-Bingo!" (Praiseful arm gesture here.) "And, he wanted to play... somethin' else. But-- we shot him down!" (Uneasy chuckle here.)

He tapped the side of his head. "Haaa little slow upstairs."

(Long, sunken sigh here.)
