It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.
Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.
I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.
I love you guys. God bless.

The host of speedsters, feet pounding like pistons, wings beating, and tails whirling like rotors, each blazed a trail for miles across the desert and grassy plains. The group followed their little orange fox leader on his fearless flight into the belly of the beast: Gigalopolis, the city some of them had just escaped the previous day.
The outskirts of the metropolis were grim to behold. Plant life, contaminated by chemical runoff from the new facilities springing up all around, was mostly dead, and thick clouds of corrosive vapor hung overhead, yet it seemed to only make the sun roast through hotter for some reason. The perimeter of was not as well defended as one might have suspected; while there were robots here and there, Eggman's forces were stretched thin and were easy enough to dodge, and those that got plowed over didn't seem to have any kind of distress beacons. The path into the city was clear and open, and it didn't take a detective to find where Tails' spaceship, the Cyclone, had landed: Just look for the fire.
There it was, a mass of gnarled white and blue metal at the end of a long trench in the pavement, where it had entirely obliterated a section of street, and smashed into one of many construction sites, leaving it covered with toppled steel beams. The structure was still partially standing, but not by a whole lot. Dust and smoke was still blowing everywhere, E-10 Cop Speeders were all over the scene with their little red lights spinning, Buzzers were zipping back and forth overhead, while a fire truck with some yellow-uniformed Eggman Army emergency workers seemed to be trying to quell the blaze before it spread much farther through the many surrounding under-construction factories and refineries. It was chaos. Maybe owing to that chaos was the fact that nothing was attacking anyone in the group yet, not even Tails. Of course, that could quickly change, depending on their method of approach.

Tails, with plenty of effect but very little actual stealth, made an flailing, ludicrous beeline for a nearby alleyway as soon as he noticed the massed robots. If there was one thing Tails was not in possession of, it was actual physical infiltration procedure.
He did have a reasonable grasp of the theory, however, and, keeping away from the street, worked gradually through the back-alleys and half-demolished structures to gain a much closer view of the scene. The buildings that fronted the city streets were half-way through being destroyed for a chemical storage facility, which was springing up through the ongoing demolition like weeds springing up in the trampled remains of a garden — unconcerned with location suitability or residual rubble.
The stripped down remains of an old brick commercial storefront — its ceiling removed and its back shaved off surgically to make room for a gigantic concrete footing — faced the construction site at the end of the row of buildings. It was through one of the upper windows of the skeletal brick structure that Tails peered, telegraphing his presence to the world by means of his gigantic ears, which were silhouetted against the sky.

Surprisingly, no one seemed to spot the little fox or his big ears. All eyes were focused on the scene itself... where there were some faces likely familiar to both Tails and his friends.
Two white figures. One, a primate, wearing crimson red trousers (actually a jumpsuit tied at the waist), was holding the other in his arms: a scorched, tattered-looking bat girl, unconscious. It was Rock and Rouge.
At Rock's flanks was another monkey, red (Jam, one could easily presume), and a tall, formidable-looking robot—Tau, of course.
"'Ey, grab that stuff, wouldja?" directed Rock, gesturing with his head toward where there was a large, torn nylon sack laying on the damaged pavement, spilling several jet-black, high-tech-looking briefcase-sized containers. It seemed they were making off with some sort of loot from the ship, not to mention a captive.

Quick to arrive on the scene after the overzealous fox, Tabitha, who had less overall experience in these sorts of things than did Tails, was quick to observe and imitate. She hurled herself down the same indirect paths, skulking in the same shadows, and eventually, found herself scrutinizing the same fishy-looking scene from the same building, albeit from a lower vantage point.
"Pssst~!" she called pointlessly upward in a projected whisper, as she sunk lower to the ground. "This is too dangerous! Please go back to the camp; the others and I, we'll do what we can about this."
Never mind the fact that she wasn't terribly confident about the precise volume of "others" en route for back-up, or even what, if anything they could do to such substantial opposition.
Across the way, at the crash site, there was a brief, but certainly punctuated silence immediately following the de facto leader's request wherein the reddish girl in her own red jump suit (which was severely dismembered to little more than a sleeveless romper with tattered threads hanging where proper hems should have been) looked expectantly to the robot without taking so much as a single step toward the indicated items. For whatever reason, it simply didn't occur to Jam that Rock could have possibly been asking her to go fetch until she'd been standing there a solid three or four seconds.
At once, her surly, but detached and disinterested demeanor grew subtly sheepish as she lunged for the sack and its spilled guts, hastily cramming them back into their vessel, and awkwardly holding the ravaged ends together as she tromped back towards the duality of white. A question, mostly rhetoric, but not at all sarcastic came out at a mumble, questionably audible to invisible audiences lurking nearby; "What is all this crap, and why d'we want it?"

"You really think he's going to listen to ya after how far we've chased him?" came a low whisper from behind the feline.
The hedgehog had managed to trace her path with some relative ease, and other than looking a bit worn from the miles-long sprint into the city, he was highly aware of their surroundings for the moment being. This was enemy territory now, and boy was the place swarming with Eggman machinery. If they got the wrong attention, there would be an army descending onto them in mere minutes.
He hunkered low as he stared out a nearby window to the scene outside, seeing the wreckage.
"Sonic and whoever else is in that thing better be damn well alive, or else all of this will end up a complete waste of-"
Geoff paused, seeing a couple of figures.
"...the hell are they doing here."

Tabitha blinked, momentarily forgetting Geoff was new to the game, and explained, "Those are Egg-goons; hired guns for you know who. You can tell by the uniforms -- Kind of."
There was a brief, but weighty pause before the blond cat turned away from her view to look inquisitively at the hedgehog. "You... know those guys?"

Rock, still unaware of their eavesdroppers in the midst of all the dust, smoke, and general havoc, didn't answer Jam immediately. He just shifted Rouge's weight in his arms for comfort and leaned over to look at one of the fallen cases a little more closely.
"The inscriptions look like the ones we saw at the Nocturnus colony, don't you think?" he suggested, drawing the connection between the odd, glowing scribbles and those he saw on the ruins of the Nocturnus city, as well as the ship they "borrowed." However, he didn't explain beyond that. The implications were too limitless. Had Rouge and the others just returned from the same place they had been? Someplace else with Nocturnus Clan activity? He couldn't have had any clue.

"...we're acquainted," he replied in a low tone.
Geoff stared at the two monkeys plus robot for a moment longer before glancing in Tabitha's direction.
"Looks like they're gettin' out of here soon enough, though. May be best just to wait a sec before trying to investigate ourselves." The hedgehog nodded upward. "And hope that he's capable of staying put for more than five seconds."
He returned his gaze to the trio outside, a hint of a frown on his lips. The hedgehog's disapproval of their appearance was apparent now, but he was thankful enough he had a solid reason to avoid them.

"It's a bit of a long story, and I do hope nobody intends to go crashing the party," Rodolf said in a low voice from, in turn, behind Geoff-- with a pointed look up at the two-tailed fox. His longish ears were more up-turned than usual, possibly intending to listen to the uniform-clad primates... or just to keep a lookout around the group with which he arrived.
He looked, not even at, but more in the general direction of Rock, Jam, and Tau, and frowned. "What are the odds, though, that they'd be here..." he remarked. The unicorn then shook his head and looked at Tabitha briefly, before he looked back to where his gaze had rested a moment before. "You have the best idea of what's going on, out of any of us that came along... I'm going to assume you've got a good idea of what we need to be... aware of, or keep a look out for?"

Coop landed behind everyone with a gentle thump. The floor creaked a little.
He approached on of the shattered windows, his feet making gritty crunching noises as he treaded on broken glass.
He took a very brief peek outside, and his face set. He rubbed a thumb against an eyebrow. He frowned.
"Look who it is," he mumbled.
Tails, meanwhile, registered intense alarm. He stared down at the bat.
"They've got Rouge!" he whispered, "and—" he stared, "and nocturnus technology!"
He looked around at the members of his team, "it's technology from an ancient Echidna world," he exclaimed, "if Eggman finds it, he could figure out how it works and use it in his own creations!"
He turned and stared, eyes fixed on the scene below:
"We have to stop them, somehow!"
He scanned the environment rapidly, searching for a time or place to jump in. His feet shuffled on the ground, and he hunched down near the window, seconds away from action.

The monkey's head fell to a thoughtful cant, as she shook one of the alien-looking boxy objects out of the bag and into her arm. Awkwardly, but as best she was able to, she shifted the thing this way and that, scrutinizing it with pursed lips and a furrowed brow for a moment before agreeing with a silent nod.
"Any idea what these are, Qwikipedia-bot?" she asked, turning to Tau, and uncoordinatedly presenting the interdimensional novelty to him.
Tabby had naught a spare moment to consider a useful answer for Rodolf before the Egg-trio and their spoils began to agitate the two-tailed canine to a worrisome panic.
"Tails!" breathed the cat upward, in a rushed, but low voice. "Wait, Tails! Think about this a second!"
And presuming she was granted audience, she continued, after a quick, cautious glance back to the scene. "I know that's your friend out there, and-- and I get that we don't want them getting a hold of this nocturnal stuff, but look at us. There's a handful us, and at least five times more of them, counting all their backup. We go charging out into there now, and we're only going to get captured. If you want to save your friend, the best thing to do is not get caught."

Among the chaos and numerous heat sources Tau hadn’t yet identified the lurkers in the distances from the countless other entities in the immediate area, or perhaps hadn’t even noticed them at all yet. Tau wasn't too far off from the two simians, only about a dozen feet and had split his attention between the pair and the assorted fires surrounding the crash site.
Tau wasn't currently armed, well.. He didn't have any weapons active or 'in hand' at the moment, but did have some form of fire extinguishing device attached to right arm, which he was making use of every so often to quell several nearby small fires that sparked up. Upon being addressed by Jam Tau ceased attending to a nearby fire and shifted his primary optics focus towards the object in question for several seconds before replying to the pink simian.“ Negative, insufficient information for Visual analysis."

"We'll figure it out later," Rock reassured, then started hoofing it out of there, walking purposefully past some noisy Cop Speeders and some grey-uniformed Eggman Army troops on his way toward a waiting truck.
To just call it a "truck" was a little misleading, though. It was more a hovering, wheel-less vehicle of some kind, grey, caution-striped, plastered with the Eggman logo, with red dome lights on top, and a body not unlike some kind of little old passenger van. Rock slid open a side-panel door, laid a seat down, and stuck Rouge inside, then slid the door shut again.
He paused there for a second, and called out to one of the nearby grey-uniformed troops. "Hey—find anybody else in there?"
The soldier, an incredibly nervous-looking cat with wild eyes and crooked, gimpy legs that didn't seem to be able to agree on whether they were sitting or standing, jerked around to face Rock with a paralyzed look. This didn't seem to have anything in particular to do with Rock; the guy looked pretty much like this before the monkey ever said a word to him.
The cat opened his mouth to speak.
" ... ... ..."
He then just shook his head with twitching, breakneck rapidity.
Rock shot an awkward glance toward Jam, shrugged, pulled the driver's door open for himself, and motioned for his party to pile on in.

Jam wasn't particularly affected by Tau's lack of insight, or if she was, her poker face was immaculate. If nothing else, she looked bored as she eased the tear open, careful to not let any other pieces escape, and unceremoniously crammed the one she'd removed back in, holding the bag closed. Hefting it up onto her shoulder as she made her way to their waiting ride, the excessively red simian hurriedly shoved her burden into the van just after Rouge, her fingers barely clearing the well-oiled slam of the door.
She spared a short-lived, but dirty glare for Rock (which he probably didn't even notice) before turning to mount the shotgun seat, only to find herself utterly dumbfounded by their hapless help. Jam looked on the poor, addled, blue tiger as though mildly disturbed, her lips sandwiched neatly together in between her teeth. Again, she looked to the other monkey, this time, with an expression of muddled exasperation, concern, and self-pity, before shaking her head, and disappearing into the passenger's seat.

Tails listened quietly to Tabitha, watching the target group far below as they sallied to the industrial aerovan. He looked across the street, around the area, watched the robots. He looked back at the van.
"Okaaay," he said. It was not an uncertain okay, or one of reluctance, it was a very determined 'okay'. Tails' jaw jutted out an entire millimetre in resolution, as he steeled himself and waited.
