It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

Something has dawned on me recently. I don't necessarily have the opportunity to gush about a few of my favorite things. So I decided to make a place where I could. Here's the premise. Pick either your top 9 or top 16 vidya gaems EVER. Go here: http://bighugelabs.com/mosaic.php
And make a custom little mosaic of them.

We've done something like this before, but it was rather crudely organized, and the number rule wasn't really strictly followed. If you have a particular series you like, you can simply include the best entry in that series if the ones you have in mind are similar enough to compare. (Example: If I like both Sonic 2 and Sonic 3, but liked Sonic 2 more, I could just include Sonic 2. However, if I liked Sonic 2 and Sonic Adventure 2, I might include both. Don't worry, they're not in any order, so you don't need to stress on which rank you'd put them in. You can give little descriptions of them if you want, but don't feel forced into it. That's mostly for me.

So without further, here's mine!

Bayonetta~: Yes, yes, it's a game with T&A. But that's merely the skin wrapped around the body of a hardened warrior, with a brutally tongue in cheek sense of humor. It's camp, but a stylized camp-- Narm Charm incarnate with a pair of high heel pistols strapped to its feet. And a BA soundtrack, too.

GOD HAND: The tagline on the back of the case is "YOU CAN PUNCH PEOPLE IN THE FACE". That should tell you all you need to know, but here's what's what: It's a tough-as-nails new age beat-em-up that lives on Rule of Fun and Rule of Funny. And again, a badass soundtrack.

Brave Fencer Musashi: A funny, engaging, and impressively long-lasting action RPG back from when Square was still good! I never did beat it, though... Which makes me upset it's still not released on PSN. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle: Yeah, you know I had to include this. I put this over SA1 because 1. I could take the voice acting and lip syncing (more) seriously. 2. The Good/Bad Level ratio was much more balanced. 3. No fishing levels.

...No seriously. Screw those fishing levels.

Devil May Cry 3: Pretty much Bayonetta, but with Dante. So, yeah.

Threads of Fate: This was one of the first games to feature characters that I really fell in love with. I loved its story, and it was really, really fun. Maybe it's the nostalgia factor, but I can't think of a whole lot to dislike about this game. It's really a classic.

Silent Hill 2: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/ ... ent-Hill-2

The Neverhood: Think 'Myst', but made of kclay, sandwiching an lovably charming Tex Avery sense of humor and a thuddy bluegrass-skat soundtrack between truly eerie, lonesome exploring and headscratcher puzzle solving. The story is really something else, and you can quickly get a feel of how massive the scope of your world is not ten minutes into playing. If ever I'm asked if a game can be deep without being pretentious, I point to the Neverhood.

Final Fantasy VII: Yeah, maybe I would've put VI here if I'd played it first. But I didn't, I haven't, and you can just sit on it. This is my OG RPG and I'm sticking with it.

Max Payne 2: I'm a sucker for style, it seems, and Payne is dripping with it. To give no mention of how much fun I have disposing of thug after thug in my heart-pounding, adrenaline-rushing, painkiller-popping bullet time.

InFAMOUS: The first sandbox I ever played where I truly cared about where the story was going. Really polished game.

Metal Gear Solid 3: I love Metal Gear. This is the best Metal Gear.

Uncharted 2: It's weird, looking over this game. It doesn't really... innovate? In any particular way? But it does everything so amazingly well. Aside from that, the game oozes charisma from every pore. Every moment is memorable. It's one of the few single player campaigns where the only downside is that it has to end.

Mass Effect 2 (With Vanguard): http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/3343 ... sohgod.jpg

Comix Zone: Original concept, clever gameplay, awesome graphics (for its time, of course), and a combat system deeper than it had any right to be. That, and it was harder than diamonds, and laid claim to the most bitchin' 16-bit grunge rock OST you will ever hear.

Elite Beat Agents: Indescribable beauty

Okay, these aren't my all time faves but they're some of the most nostalgic ones and had the most impact upon my view of gaming:

Image

Zelda: Ocarina of Time: This was one of the earliest video games I got and probably one of the best even today. It had everything, scary bosses, a compelling mythos, side quests and a real feel like you had something to fight for once the world went to hell. It also had one hell of a soundtrack.

Zelda: Majora's Mask: This is up there because it was one I got shortly after Ocarina of Time. It ditched a few aspects of the last game but introduced a few new concepts such as freedom of choice, working to a timed schedule and a darker story than the original.

Legacy of Kain Defiance: The concluding cliffhanger to the whole series. Possibly the one with the best gameplay and most reveals behind what the hell was going on. In terms of graphics it still holds up fairly well today and major improvements on combat makes it still worth playing.
The great story and voice acting goes without saying.

Goldeneye: Probably one of the best shooters of its generation. You can bitch slap men to death, cheat by choosing one character and multiplayer was just a case of getting another controller. Ah, simpler times.

Mystical Ninja starring Goemon: Imagine Super Mario 64 with ninjas, robots, large puzzle sections, interactive characters, towns and giant mech battles. Also some funny dialogue for the time.

Star Wars Battlefront: Having not played any of the battlefield games this was the first time I was playing as a line soldier and not some superhuman badass who could take several hundred times the damage of everyone else. You inflicted the same amount of damage as your enemies, you could only take the same amount of damage as them. It make playing very interesting.

Golden Sun: A seriously underrated RPG, essentially a straight forwards fantasy RPG which was well made and had good characters. You could also summon the devil to kill people.

Dawn of War II: Yeah, this game was something very different from the traditional RTS. You relied upon specific characters to command squads, your commanders could turn traitor and it capped off the whole Dawn of War storyline.

Pokemon Blue: Probably the first RPG and turn based combat game I played. Doesn't hold up today, but it left an impression.

Hundred Swords: Essentially a little known and early version of Dawn of War II. It used specific characters to try and mix up traditional RTS gameplay and combine it with RPG elements. Good artwork throughout to serve as cut scenes.

Knights of the Old Republic: The best Star Wars game ever made.

Dwarf Fortress: If you want to know why this is fun to play, look up and read the Boatmurdered Let's Play. Seriously, this game is like a minecraft RTS with manic depressives and goblin invasions.

Resistance Fall of Man: Co op campaign made this worth keeping and the storyline was interesting enough to stick with the series. You also had guns which could fire through walls and showed a very bleak depiction of futuristic/alternate history war.

Fable II: Stephen Fry made this game worth playing. As did the writing, design and co op mode. Your actions can also have an extremely visible impact upon the world around you, if you're evil then the world can seriously go wrong.

Fallout 3: Oblivion with guns, super mutants and less glitches. Also better voice acting.

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron: Definitely the best fighter pilot game of its time and with more bonus features and cheats than most non GTA games of its era. You could also take down enemy fighters by ramming them in mid air.

Pokemon Crystal: Because it was my first pokeymanz gameeeee. Oh, the memories, yo.

Pokemon Black: Because it is second only to Crystal. "But Kazz", you say, "putting two pokemon games just shows how much of a loser you are" and I say shut up because Black is awesome.

Yoshi's Island: Because it's the best game ever. No, shut up, I don't care, it is absolute.

Touhou 7: The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil: Because despite the fact that the Touhou fandom is 99.9% verifiably insane, it was my first curtain fire game, my favorite, and I am willing to bet serious money that U.N. Owen Was Her? is the single most remixed piece of video game music ever.

Final Fantasy 7: because shut up

The World Ends With You: Because I love the gameplay, the soundtrack, the story, aaaaand it's awesome and people should play it

Silent Hill 2: Because I am stupid and play it at midnight, alone in the house, with the lights off

Donkey Kong Country 2: Because the soundtrack is a soundgasm.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask: Because it was the only Zelda game I ever beat Because it has some weird nostalgic value, idek

Banjo Kazooie: Because when Rusty Bucket Bay wasn't horrifying me, it was colourful and clever and put together well

Yume Nikki: Because wide open space and aimless wandering has never been so unsettling and accurately captures the dreamlike essence without being "OOO LOOK WACKY STUFF HAPPENING"

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door: Because its story holds up better than the original Paper Mario, love it though I do, and it's just all around very nicely polished

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle: Because guess

Kingdom Hearts: Because while it's a self-involved convoluted mess, before the series turned into a really self-involved convoluted mess it was really fun

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars: Because it was my first RPG

.flow: Becasue it's a perfect Yume Nikki fangame that cranks up the nightmare factor to fifty (yes it's derivative of Yume Nikki, shut up it's creepyawesome)
