Jacks eyes widened when she looked under the sheet at the figure with the mask on. She defiantly made a connection as to the type of mask it was, and a gas mask was NOT a good sign, Jack pulled her shirt collar up over her beak with one hand the other drew her gun.
"Cover-" the Sheriff tried to advise Ember, but she didn't get the chance to when the attacker popped up. Jack wasn't afforded the opportunity to hesitate, she had to shoot the man in the leg. At this range she was pretty sure of her aim and that it would bring him down, She immediately grabbed the mask and gave it a yank, praying there was time enough to pull it off his head before she succumb to the gas.

"Hngh!"
The man (or whatever he was) standing on the table buckled to one knee. Sure enough, this did put him within grasping range, but he was apparently a trained fighter of some sort. Jack would find that the hand she reached with was deftly backhanded to one side, then—
*Fwoof!*
He actually didn't counterattack. His cloak rustled as he backflipped away under the power of his one uninjured leg and landed behind another worktable. He made an awkward thud as he went down, and ended up on his hip on the floor, but quickly got up and limp-dashed through the dark behind a mess of hanging meat hooks, chains, and burlap sacks.
Sleepytime was seconds away.
Note: This sequence is not hard-scripted, and can end with escape or failure. It isn't any kind of game-over thing in the event they do black out, though. We'll immediately pick up with them waking up, so there's no downtime for it if it does happen.

Ember was caught off guard by the sudden attack. Covering her face with her hands, she tried to ward away the gas to no avail. She wasn't used to being surprised in such a way and it showed.
Though she stumbled towards Jack to at least lend some kind of help, she feel to her knees with only one step. The gas leaked through her fingers and numbed her body. Though she wanted to run she found herself dropping further to the floor.
With one more weak failing attempt, she passed out finally and was still.

Jack whirled after the man who attacked them. Coughing and hacking she took a few uneasy steps after him. But her will power alone wasn't going to counter act the gas, with no help she started to sink towards the ground like her limbs where made of lead.
Her head hit the cool ground and everything sunk away into darkness as she slipped away from consciousness.

The main group has been whittled down to Jack and Ember.
This storyline probably won't be able to continue for long with so few characters. I'll keep on replying with NPC posts as long as there are one or two interested folks, but the majority of the actual meat of the story is probably going to be stripped out in favor of ending this sooner so we can hopefully salvage the active participants from this side and reintegrate them with the remaining active participants from the other story.
(Ben, if you want to continue the conversation between Ivan and the bartender, PM me. [Not the NPC account, but, y'know, my account.] We'll finish it out there and post it as a minor log, rather than have any confusing time-lapse action.)
Jack and Ember ((and presumably Key, but maybe not if Jeni isn't available to play her)) would soon find themselves stirred awake by a blinking red light in the dark.
They were still in the back of the butcher shop. They were very thoroughly tied up with chain and twine, hanging by their restraints on hooks, but alright—penniless and weaponless, but uninjured and undisturbed.
A contraption sitting on the counter was illuminated only by a solitary red light that blinked on and off periodically. It was a crude sort of machine, with a couple valved gas canisters on it, and it was visibly surrounded by a strange vapor. However, the quiet hiss that it emitted was slowly fading, the vapor dissipating, and, along with it, their drowsiness fading.
Someone apparently went to lengths to ensure that they would stay knocked out for a while, but why, and for how long? A quick look around revealed that it was nighttime, with no daylight coming in through the cracks in the swinging double doors anymore. Strangely, their captors no longer seemed to be around.

Jacks head jerked suddenly and she made a very unladylike snorting noise as she suddenly woke up. she shook her head a moment as her eyes fluttered open, for a moment she was alarmed she didn't know where she was. It took her a few minutes to put herself together and figure out where she was.
"Crap." She said as she struggled against her bindings, it didn't take long for her to realize she'd been robbed. She liked that gun, too.
"HEY! You awake? Hellllllloooo!?"

Nothing. Her voice echoed around without response, unless one of her cohorts happened to stir.
There was just frustrating silence. It was the kind of thing that could make a claustrophobic person freak out, or a temperamental person get really mad, being strung up like that with no one around, and no way to move...
Oh, but then there was light. It was artificial light, and had that kind of "passing" quality to it, rising up between the cracks in the swinging doors. There was a low rumble along with it. The headlights and motor of a car pulling up, maybe?
No. It got too loud—too bright. All the shelves and chains, everything, it all began to rattle.
The back door slammed open right in front of Jack, and a blinding yellow-white light flooded the room like day. Familiar silhouettes, dark and hooded, walked in, one of them limping. They parted to make way for... a really, really bizarre sight.
A shimmering, golden-orange figure, indistinct in shape, stood around six feet tall. Glittering feathers draped straight off of it, all the way to the floor in a manner that looked more like a robe than a part of its body, completely obscuring its legs in such a way that it seemed to drift forward rather than walk. Its huge upper body had a vaguely birdlike shape to it—not in the way that Jack was bird-like, but more in the way a bulbous, non-sapient pigeon was birdlike. Its head was small, but had a strange, artificial-looking, conical beak, and blank, lens-like eyes, not unlike an old-fashioned doctor's plague mask and goggles.
It stopped in the middle of the room, regarded the trio of girls in silence, then motioned toward them with a long, gleaming-feather-draped arm. The two shorter, darker cloaked figures moved forward at his command, and began taking Jack, Ember, and Key down from where they so neatly hung, preparing to haul them out the back door like sacks of potatoes.

Also, the rest of the interaction between Ivan and the bartender has been edited into this post on the previous page:
Would have just posted it in a new minor log, but I thought it might have been odd and disembodied from the rest of the story that way, hence this solution.

Jacks jaw hung open at the light, that must of been what the others had mentioned before. Her eyes narrowed at the people who appeared in the doorway out of the blinding light.
"You best be untiein' us!" She demanded at the figures, the tall unusually shaped ring leader didn't seem to worry her much. It was when the baddies took her down from her hanging spot and started to carry her out that she started thrashing with all she had. You'd think with all those extra appendages she'd be able to wiggle free but really all she was managing was being both loud and hard to keep a hold of. "What in the hell do you think yer doin?! H-HEY! LEMME GO! DAG NABBIT! PUT ME DOWN!"

Even from a deep sleep, all the yelling and rustling going on could have woken Ember. Thus, it did and the bleary-eyed bird awoke to Jack's voice. Head swimming, she barley registered anything save for how uncomfortable she was. The memories of the attack rose to the surface and she felt herself yanked into full alert. It was at this moment that she was taken down from the hook.
"Hey! Heyputmedown!", she commanded, wriggling around best she could, "Stupid little things get your damn hands off me!"
Catching sight of the 'ring-leader' admist the chaos, she turned her sights on him.
"What are you doing?! You let us go right now or I'll burn those feathers right off you! Stupid panised up @$#@*&!

SUDDENLY...
Almost just as the crew of freaky deaky doctors seemed to turn around, a brief, but ear-splitting BOOM burst through the quaint little butcher shop, and with it, enough chunks of the wall behind them to accommodate a large refrigerator spewed violently to the ground. There was another shadowy figure brought to the scene of the crime, and unfortunately for the creepy little robe-people, it was not a large refrigerator.
It was Power Mask.
Granted, recognizing him might've been a little difficult for anyone who knew him, for gone was his manly shirtlessness, sacrificed in favor of an outfit more suited to the bitter weather distinctive of Cape Norden. Save his gloved hands and booted feet, his entire body was hidden by a thick, dusty-looking brown overcoat, buttoned politely to his chest and quite snug in all the right places. On his dome rested a fuzzy little ushanka, and of course, his mask was worn under that.
"NAHT ssso faaahst," he roughly decreed, thrusting a leather-gloved finger in the kidnappers' direction and steeling his body. "Hyour abdocting deis arle comming to an eind!"
And to his credit, for all the theatrics he was pulling, he actually did look pretty pissed.

Tank wasn't alone, either. With flourish (although not as much as Tank), the Baron leapt in through the open hole in the wall beside him, perfect white coat gleaming in the light, red cape fluttering, shield in hand and at the ready.
It was hard not to look dramatic, especially dressed the way he was, and standing next to Tank after smashing through a wall, but he had no dramatic words to say, at least—just a solemn "Let them go now," with an intense look. There was some concern in his eyes when his gaze settled on the abductees, but he wasn't yet doing anything brash.

But oh, that wasn't all. Coming onto the scene with possibly the most theatrical manner of all, the long-absent (though some would say not absent enough) Sir Corin Reginald Sidney Theophilus yadda yadda yadda sprang in on the other side of Tank. From the way he landed, he seemed to have pole-vaulted in with his spear. He rose to his feet, yanked his spearhead out of the floor, and flourished it dramatically at the bird-faced scoundrels.
"Your dastardly doings are past!" he announced, pointing his ornate pike directly at the nearest mysterious thing, his cape fluttering just as dramatically. All the while, his hat stayed at its rakish, dashing angle. Somehow.
And stumbling in at the very end of the flourish parade was Mako, who stumbled in alongside tank, tripping a bit over the rubble. He really looked like he didn't want to be here, especially once he laid eyes on the bird-face figure-- but despite the "oh God why am I doing this" in his eyes, the shark stood his ground, even though that ground was half-hidden behind Tank.

Alarmed at Tank's wall-smashing, the captors dropped poor Jack and Ember, fell over them, and generally made a mess of things. The bizarre chief abductor was less affected, but nonetheless froze.
There was a sort of uncomfortable silence following the heroes' entrance. The two normally-sized guys in gas masks and hoods picked themselves up uneasily, and stood at ready, very tense. They slowly turned their gaze to their huge leader.
The ceiling caved in. Searing yellow-white light flooded the room, and a burly machine, not unlike some kind of ten-foot-tall liberty bell with feet and a head, left a pair of small craters in the tile floor shaped like its dumpy feet.
It raised a rather intimidating-looking sledgehammer and began to stomp toward the group, cracking the tile with each step. Unfortunately, the two dropped, tied-up ladies were right in its walking path, and it didn't even seem to notice. Ember was going to be the first to get squished if no one acted fast.

Perhaps a bit late to the party, the crimson-clad bunny stepped through the hole made by Tank moments before the ceiling gave way for a big machine to stretch it's legs in the middle of the room. The cave-in made the rabbit jump back a bit.
His eye darted from the hooded figures, to the glittery weirdo... Well, what do you know, that bartender did have reliable intel after all. However, the big bell-looking robot was new.
Unlike a certain civilized baron, Ivan was not above being brash, however. He had no idea how effective, if at all, he would be against something so big and sturdy looking, but nonetheless, he stepped passed Tank and Dureau. He bent his knees and launched himself into the air toward the robot with his powerful legs, twisting in mid-air to deliver a hard kick at the machine's chassis.
