|
Updates Sonic Spindash RP is closed.Founded 05/25/2002 by three friends; ended 09/19/2012.
It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.
Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.
I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.
I love you guys. God bless.

Badge's posture loosened a bit when the albino monkey revealed himself as a friendly. Well, as far as past involvement could say anyways. At the very least, they hadn't ever been on opposite sides.
"Oh.. yes, I remember you."
His arm retracted, as he scanned the group. His stance tightened once again,
"Wait, why are you harboring a fugitive?!" He protested, welcoming an explanation from anyone, other than the fugitive in question.

The helmeted primate glanced toward virtually every member of his team, one at a time, then looked back to Badge.
"You might need to be more specific."

Tracer seemed to be less then worried about the exploding little gooey balls of fire all round her. Once the last of the little replica's burst she spun on her heal and stepped back towards the white monkey and the others with her rifle resting against one shoulder.
She gave no real responce to the masked hero that popped up and declared them all vile criminals. As the conversation went on she started a very eerie low chuckle. It seemed genuinly amused if not forbodeing. "heh heh heh."

Tau's recon drone would zip towards one of the puddles of defeated artificial chaos and quickly collect a sample of it's remains (After entirely neutralizing any possible up-link with a new control core for said sample) in a small glass tube. With it's task now finished it simply darted back into the air and was about to make a quick pass around the area, well, right before thew new arrival made himself know any way... " Oh.. whossat? Hey..he...Oh...None hostile..Okay!...Wait...Wha..? Whats a figat...fug...What? "
The drone follow up by doing a few quick passes at a safe distance around Badge to inspect him while Rock and Badge spoke to one another, all the while attempting to make itself seem nonthreatening.
" Heya No shoot..I just need to inspec.. Ohh.. wassat rope thingy around your neck for? Why do you need it in space...Oh...wait.. We're in space.. Woohoo! Oh...i said that before... Wassat over there? " The drone quickly lost interest in Badge after doing a few scans and would zipped off to resume inspecting the surrounding area unless otherwise prevented form doing so.

"I.."
Obviously taken aback by Rock's response, he started to raise his hand to point, but then stopped. He looked at Rock with a cant of his head, then at the group of apparent fugitives.
Before he could continue, a drone flew over to the group to examine him, but quickly lost interest, so Badge just shook his head and attempted to get his mind back on track.
"How many do you have? I thought you were a good guy!"
Apparently, shades of grey were lost on our hero. With a sigh, he decided to not give him a chance to answer, lest it weigh on his conscience.
"Nevermind. That one." He said finally pointing at the armored llama, "Tracer, wanted for her involvement in an attempted heist at Grand Metropolis."
The guy obviously has no concept of "jurisdiction," chasing villainy to the ends of the Earth, and beyond.

No sooner had the raccoon pointed out the Llama did she lower her rifle and open fire on him. No, she didn't care he was standing admists the group. And No, she didn't care to try and work things out. Hoji had made the mistake of identifying himself as a hostile and now Tracer was going to do everything in her power to destroy him. Tracer loosed three short bursts of fire at the raccoon. She honestly wasn't trying to hurt her party members after all. But she would find it their own fault should they fail to get out of the way. After she fired she lindged at the raccoon swinging the butt of the gun torwards the side of his helmeted head. All the while without a word or argument. .

"It's called 'subtlety'," Rock sighed at the alien turf, slowly shaking his head. While mortal combat was breaking out, all he did was stand idly by and address the situation over the radio for all to hear.
"I knew who she was," he stated with a maximum level of disappointment. "Terrorist in a gaudy orange exosuit. See one blow up a building and you don't forget too quick." He turned his helmet only so vaguely in Coop's direction, while continuing to address Badge.
"Thing is, she had more than enough enemies here before you showed up—didn't she?"
He hadn't let on at all, but he had already gleaned all the information he needed from the onset of their mission. While it was seeing her in the orange suit that made things certain, it had ultimately only served to link all the pieces of the puzzle, the first of which was Coop's behavior. While Rock was no best friend to the big guy, it was clear that there was something making the eagle uncomfortable the whole time, and there was no reason for him to be concerned about Rock and crew unless he was in cahoots with Tracer and up to no good. However, at their first meeting, Coop's genuine surprise at seeing Tracer, combined with Tracer's hardened look in response, were far too genuine to be faked. They hadn't expected one another.
In short, Rock had been looking for the most artistic cliff to shove Tracer off of all along, and Badge just blew the opportunity. But it was nothing that a good firing squad treatment couldn't fix.

At first, Ace wasn't sure what to think of the situation, and in all honesty, he still wasn't perfectly clear. But the situation made itself obvious enough: Badge was bein' a good guy, Rock was a good guy too, Tracer was a bad guy. If nothing else got through, the serval understood one thing out of the ordeal, and that was being given permission to take care of business.
By the time Rock said the final words of his report, ol alleycat already had a running start in Tracer's direction. Never one to trust a stranger, he was steeling himself for something like this the whole while, but taking on anyone in a suit of high tech armor was always a daunting task. He didn't want to get too close, and at the same time, he had no idea how effective a card toss would be against her. So he took the alternative, used what he'd learned in the few minutes he'd spent in this half-gravity, and flung himself at her blindside with a powerful leap, to deliver what else but an adrenaline-powered, flying dropkick to the back of her head.

Jam's helmet followed the drama between Badge and his perp with mild interest as fingers and accusations flew. It was certainly a notable development, but nothing even close to an earth-shattering, or even mildly surprising development; more along the lines of an "oh, that explains a lot" revelation.
As Tracer engaged her pursuer in some impromptu combat time, the smaller simian propped her elbow onto Rock's shoulder in an awkward attempt (and failure due to height difference) to lean casually against him, and sighed.
"I should be pissed at you for leaving us outta your little circle of trust, but," prefaced the punch-hued primate; she paused, sparing a glance to the overzealous alley cat's charge into the fight. "I figure I can guess why you did. Good call."

No sooner had Rock finished up his explanation, Badge noticed that the rifle on Tracer's shoulder had lowered to point right at his glorious heroic hide.
"!"
But he had no time to react and was blasted, and sent flying back a few feet, landing flat on his back. He rolled away just in time to avoid getting rifle-butted, quickly getting to his feet. Upon getting to his feet, he noticed one of the other party on the other side of his assailent sailing toward her with a flying dropkick.
He backed up a bit, hoping that the attack would stagger her forward a bit. If Ace's attack did manage to stagger her, he would then follow up, by leaping toward her, and throwing a flying knee into her face, his knee enveloped in chaos energy to put some extra force into it.
"WILD KNEE!"

Coop stared at the events unfolding around him. His rather tenuous mood had only been compounded by his complete failure to affect the massing artificial chaos creatures. There was a moment of resolution. His jaw tensed. Anyone looking at his face could see the moment where he reached the critical decision: Nope.He picked up his helmet, turned, and jumped up into the air, away from the group. At the apex of his jump—instead of landing—the eagle entered a very gently decaying orbit, which took him slowly around until he landed somewhere on the other side of the planetoid. The gravity on the underside of the planet was dangerously fragile, and it was only by a very narrow margin that he successfully touched down on the ground at all, but he did not seem fazed. He spoke into the headset that was awkwardly perched on his skull. "Uh, Doctor, we're having a little trouble with… hostiles… down here, but we can still proceed. Can you specify which debris field you want us to target? We're currently standing on… a big… um," he looked around, "a green aspirin with pipes all over it."

The armored llama kept her rifle in hand, her HUD picked up movement behind her and she managed a half-turn before Ace came flying at her. Tracer leaned her head away and he connected instead with her shoulder which still sent her down to one knee. She turned and opened up with the rifle, the apparent betrayal of the group removed any desire to spare them pain. She hoped every stray bullet found its way into someone's forehead.
The angry llama's counter attack was extremely short lived, no sooner did she pull the trigger then the Raccoon was on her, this time he came at her yelling out his attack, she didn't turn at all and took the blow in the side of the head. Her ears rang as her head and body fell backwards, her legs came out form under her and Tracer was knocked off her feet.
The slow fall offered Tracer opportunity to recover, ego bruised but otherwise largely unimpeded by either attack. TTHey had however manged to insight immeasurable rage from the llama. Tracer had her legs under her before she hit the ground, once more she was facing Hoji, she fired another burst of rounds at the 'hero' while her shoulder mount started to glow faintly.

Coop's head jerked up in alarm at the sound of distant gunshots.
After a second or two, however, his face stiffened in resolve, and he focused his stare at some point in the distance, resolutely ignoring the sounds from above.

"Hostiles?" Astrid said into the headset as she adjusted to being in space, silently chanting a mantra of 'I will not throw up inside this helmet'. "You mean, apart from droids and whatnot that are leftover guards?"
That didn't make sense. But, at least she figured the team she assembled would be able to deal with it. Part of her did wonder if one of her team was the actual source of the conflict- while she had researched some of the ones she hired quite extensively, a certain, specific member of the party hadn't had that much research done.
"Well, I trust you have it under control. I give you permission to deal with it as you see fit." She declared, fumbling with a small data screen to check the map of the area she had. "As far as what you need to target... There should be a little... planet-thing nearby you, with green crystals on it. Head there. I'm going to begin to catch up, but I'll be sure to stay just a little behind you all so I don't get caught in the crossfire. I'd hate to inconvenience you."
Turning to Tau, she smiled. "Well, what do you think?" She asked it. "Shall we follow them? I feel somewhat badly, keeping you from the conflict."
