It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

Sprinting at top speed as the emerald-equipped soldier was, it was impossible for Target to cover the whole distance before the soldier was swiped up by Tank's surprising burst of speed.

The thing jerked in shock as the tortoise swung it up into the air, then—on reflex, it burst into flames. While its fire was no-where near the scale of the soldier's previous performance, Tank would find himself holding onto a burning hot figure that was only getting hotter by the second.

(cut point: if Tank drops the thing as a reaction)

As the soldier tumbled to the ground, it twisted its legs around, carrying the inertia of the spin through its upper body so that it was in a position to land on all fours. Upon landing, it reared upright, carrying the upward-bound momentum of its lurch into a whooshing, fire-bound jab at the tortoise's stomach—not unlike an attack by the mirror dimension's emerald guardian, Blaze.

She'd put a couple of holes in the glass and was sure she'd be able to take it out at this point, she was oblivious to what danger she put the others in, she merely wanted to see this stopped. But she was abruptly stopped and thrown into the structures supports with a surprised. "WHOOHGOWD."

"No," he said.

"Good Molly, yer a bigg'un." She said in a dazed tone rubbing her head. "We ain't got time fer this. I ain't gonna dance 'round with that little runt or you while theirs a bomb tickin' up there!"

For now crisis was averted, sort of, its not like Jack didn't realize she was likely to set off the bomb. But three minutes wasn't a lot of time and she wasn't keen on doing nothing. Just waiting for it to happen just because she didn't have any better ideas seemed like a pretty poor plan to her.

Mako looked up just in time to see Coop crash soundly into Jack, with a combination of fear and awe on his face.

"... I guess that solves one problem?" he tried.

Rodolf grunted. He proceeded to build on Jam's statement--his voice was raised this time, seemingly quite annoyed that he had been cut off earlier.
"Before something else threatens to blow the tower up, if you don't mind." He tossed a cautious, pointed look down to the firefight below, and then to the beam that Jack and Coop currently occupied.

"No," repeated the eagle, with somewhat less intensity now that the crisis had been stalled.

He looked up at the top deck of the tower, where the rain was knocking fragments of glass away from the edges of the windows.

"The boy put some kind of… sensors on it—if you shake that thing too hard, it'll blow up."

He looked back to the gryphon, giving her a stare to see if the situation had sunk in, then pulled away and hung off to the side—bracing himself against the beams of the tower with a foot.

"I'm—" he paused for the correct words for the situation.

"I'm gonna help. That crazy little punk needs to stop."

As soon as the demand for a fast climber was announced, Key sprang into action without a word or a second thought. Sure, she was now insanely curious as to what the obnoxious kid meant, but if lives were at stake (and more climbing was to be done) even she would force that curiosity to the back-burner.

She leaped up to the nearest beam and began to climb at a rapid rate, making excellent time. She reached shouting distance of the gun-slinging sheriff just in time to see a rather remarkable sight; a gigantic eagle crashed into the gryphon, effectively doing her task for her, and far more efficiently than she would've be able to herself. She quirked an eyebrow at the curious scene, hauling herself onto her beam for a moment's rest, before looking the rest of the way up.

Well, Jack had succeeded in at least one of her goals; shattered glass revealed an opening to the top observation deck, just begging for Key to investigate it. She glanced down again, seriously wishing she had some way of communicating what she was about to do, before climbing the rest of the way up and rolling into the observation deck, nicking herself on class shards on the floor in the process. In retrospect, that was probably a terrible way of getting in, but Key's mind was now fixed on a single goal.

Standing up, grateful for her boots to protect her from the shards, she looked around for the bomb.

It was looking like her skills were very much still in need, after all.

Key needn't look far for it. A highly conspicuous box sat right there in the middle of the empty floor. Made of steel and composite materials and shaped like a military footlocker, the box had a combination lock dial on its front, as well as a pair of large, burly padlocks through designated holes. It seemed Seven had thought ahead about would-be heroes tampering with his present, too, because he even had sturdy chains looped through the padlocks and wrapped around the box so that its lid couldn't simply be forced open at the hinges.

And, of course, on top of it all, just as he warned, if it was bumped or moved too quickly, it was game over. She had her work cut out for her.

It seemed that only a moment had past between the genrades setting off and now. But so much happened in that moment that it made Ember's head spin. Distracted from the dective she looked over her shoulder just in time to see Jack get tackled by a large blur.

A large blur that showed itself to be a very familar eagle.

One that just tackled Jack.

Disreagarding the rabbit Ember quickly started to run back towards the tower. Within a second she was up in the air streaking towards the two. Whether or not Jack was hurt was what had her worried. Already she had to deal with the llama trying to kill her. And now big bird showed his beak and she was sick of her past popping up again. Why couldn't good past stuff show up? Why?

"Jack! Jack Jack girlie!", she stammered out once she reached the spot. Grabbing the griffin's arm she quickly gave her a once over to check for any gushing wounds or bones sticking out. "Negh this is going down fast oh damn it is also its still raining aurgh I'm wet at least the fire was nice."

The words rushed out of the bird in a single breath, barely understandable. Glancing with narrowed eyes at Coop she gave a snort. Words could be saved for later.

"Jacky. You alright? I'm not good at knowing these things. Soooo you pretty much alive right?"

Convinced that the threat Jack posed to all present was eliminated, Seven nodded in absent satisfaction then looked back to Rodolf. The unicorn was demanding information. Seven, however, was regaining his cocksure demeanor by the second as the pain of the earlier attack faded and he became ever more self assured.

"Don't act like you're entitled to anything, My Little Pegasus," said Seven, intentionally (?) misrepresenting Rodolf's species. "I'm actually a pretty nice guy, though. See, I'm willing to blow this whole conspiracy open for you—bring you out of the darkness." He pulled out what looked like a rubberized, metal-cased memory stick from one of the pouches on his vest, and flipped it in the group's general direction. "That has a copy of all the data I've collected... but if you want a chance to see it, you'll have to survive." How kind of him. "And if you wanna survive... you big 'heroes' will need to put a stop to these two," he motioned to Rock and Jam, "and their convict cat friend, too. If you do that, I won't even have any reason to blow up this island."

"Awesome," blurted Jam in a monotone, flailing her arms out to her sides; her palms clapped audibly against her thighs, as she twisted at the waist to cast a wry glance to Rock. Her weight shifted to her left leg, while the opposite hand perched on its corresponding hip, as she indulged in a little rhetoric.

"Did you know we were behind a massive conspiracy that threatens the world as we know it? 'Cause that's news to me."

If the notion that Rock was tired of what was going on somehow has not been communicated by this narrative in entries prior, let it be known that it was with a very tired look and tone that Rock looked at the girl and sighed.

"My bad for not fillin' you in on all th'... world destruction, 'n $%*@."

Behind the humor, though, as subtly as he could, he shot glances overhead. The bomb was still on his mind. They were burning time they didn't have. The appropriate time to act had not come just yet, though.

Sheffer was not in the general spot of where Seven's memory stick was thrown, but he was too busy being taken aback by his request. His eyes darted to the two monkeys, then back to the kid, his mind racing as he took in all the information from the past few moments.

"...honestly?" he questioned the kid, looking at him like he had said the most simpleminded thing on the planet. "I might not be the one to expect sunshine and rainbows from them... but there's no way in hell they're involved in any sort of what you seem to think is 'evil deeds'."

Immediately, his aggressiveness returned, and the hedgehog positioned himself as if readying himself to charge, much like before. It appeared he was reaching his last few straws with Seven for that night, the kid needing some explaining before Sheffer made his final move.

Indeed, Tank was one who had burnt his fingers on the frying pan as a youth, so of course he knew about the dangers of laying fingers on things that were too hot to handle. While he'd managed to lift him up and over, the down part fell apart, and rather than slamming him into concrete, he sort of sloppily flung him several feet over his shoulders. It was certainly something he'd never encountered in the ring before, but managed to reacted quickly enough all the same. He used the inertia of his failed suplex into a lithe little back roll (or at least lithe by Tank standards, so about average), and spun around as the trooper began its counter.

But with any luck, the tortoise wouldn't even need to defend himself, as the second the distance between them was made, Ace saw his opportunity. Bullet after bullet came with only a half-second pause between each shot, and every one of them aimed precisely at his helmeted little head (since shooting the emerald probably wouldn't be such a great idea.)

With the impact of the first bullet, the soldier twitched like it had been stung. It staggered back as bullet after bullet smacked into the helmet, before wobbling and keeling forward with a tonk.

It reclined there, the outside of its helmet riddled with deep dents.

It reared upright again, and took a few unsteady steps to regain its balance. Then it looked up at the direction the shots had come from. Then it broke into another sprint, hurtling headlong towards the base of the tower, and began climbing up towards the cat.

Walking incredibly lightly on the balls of her feet, Key made her way over to the box. She knelt by it just as delicately as she had walked over. She didn't know how incredibly sensitive the shock triggers were, and she didn't care to find out, although she could console herself with the fact that if she did manage to mess this up she'd be gone so quickly it wouldn't even hurt. Probably.

She examined the three locks and smiled. None of them were all that complicated, but they didn't need to be: she'd bet that if anyone tried to cut them off, the thing would blow, as there'd be no way to do that without moving the box somehow, and the only way to force the combination lock would be to hit it hard, which would surely result in very bad things. No, this needed someone who knew very well what they were doing. She fetched her lock picks from her pocket, deciding to go for the padlocks first. Picking up her tension wrench, she carefully determined which way it turned; once that was established, she began finding the pins. Once that was done, she turned the tension wrench- and exhaled softly as it clicked open. She gingerly removed the padlock, careful not to bump the chain that had been wound through it, then set it aside and repeated the process with the other padlock. This enabled her to move aside the chains, but the challenge of the combination lock still loomed.

Biting the inside of her cheek, Key considered how cocky the kid really was. He probably didn't anticipate a lock-picker being amongst their ragtag band, and he probably expected the shock triggers and the chains to keep them at bay, but was he really that overconfident? It couldn't hurt to test her hypothesis, though... She deftly spun the combination lock, and when she heard the oh-so-satisfying 'click' that confirmed it had opened she laughed out loud.

The combination? 7-7-7.

She gathered up her lock picks and sat back on her heels, eying the container. Sure, she could open it now, but she wasn't entirely sure what good that would do- she could get into anything, but, despite her many talents, disarming a bomb was not something she felt comfortable with, which prompted the question... now what?

"I'm a unicorn," Rodolf muttered lowly, his lip curled. He kept an eye on Seven as he -- and it seemed he alone -- wordlessly grabbed at the memory stick that lay there.

"So you want us," he said slowly, an intense look in his eyes, "to attempt to beat up these people for no other reason than because you say so." Did the boy have a reason? Rodolf wasn't sure-- but he was hoping he could coax some information out from the massively-unhelpful brat. He turned the stick over in his hand once or twice, as if feeling to see if anything was awry.

That, and he didn't want to admit he was lost for what to do. The kid might be telling the truth-- but it was just as likely he was stalling. Not having a gut feeling to act on was not comforting to the unicorn. Regardless, he tensed, flicking his eyes to Rock and Jam momentarily.

"Guys," Mako interjected uncertainly, looking between the monkeys, the hedgehog, the unicorn, and the human. "Don't we, y'know, not have much time?"

He looked at Sheffer uncomfortably, aware of the hedgehog's evident tension. "I mean..." he paused, trying to think of a way to word this that wouldn't get him unceremoniously punted off the deck. "What are we supposed to do? Like what if he's tellin' a bit of the... y'know, truth?"
