Updates Sonic Spindash RP is closed.Founded 05/25/2002 by three friends; ended 09/19/2012.
It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.
Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.
I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.
I love you guys. God bless.

And flopping against the wet ground in a mass of muscle and scales, was none other than Power Mask, desperately trying to keep up with his tinier, nimbler companion. Digging his sausage-fingers into the Earth, he pried his face away from the ground, looking very distressed. "Hwould yew sloh dauwn for jost hwon moment!" the tortoise blurted, staggering his hulking form to his partner. "Do yew even know hwere hwe arle going?"

Rock glanced back over at the front of the hotel again when he heard the shattering glass. It was pretty easy to spot who it was—Badge's fire-lit silhouette was ever more obvious alongside a big, burly tortoise. It could only be those two. So while Ace was sorting out the nearby group-related queries (and still being too slow for Rock's taste), Rock decided to just go ahead and get the duo in on the action, since they seemed to be looking for it. After all, they were up against a good fifty-something enemies, so... more assistance, even at its worst, still meant more meatshields.
"Hey," he shouted over the rain, cupping a hand toward the costumed heroes. "Yo! Capes! The fight's this way!"
And with that, he started off in a run... that promptly carried him past the slow-moving Ace, much to his disdain.
Rock stopped short and slapped the cat briskly (see: stingingly) on the shoulder, pointed ahead, and (maybe half-jokingly) urged him along. "I said let's go, not let's die of old age. Hustle, ass casket."
Yes, even after all he'd been through, for better or worse, Rock was ready to sprint all the way there in the rain. And he was off and running, directions or no directions; if he had to, he'd stop and ask directions at the resort information booth.

While the others spoke, Tau went to work carefully (Well, careful enough any way) removing the drone's weapon from its former housing. Upon freeing it, he'd collect it in his right hand by wrapping his long, narrow fingers around for a firm grip. Finding the cannon inoperable in its current state, he'd bundle it in wire and affix it to a clip on his back. Though unusable, in a pinch it had some promise for later use.
As he stood, Tau removed one last thing form the drone's remains: several grenade ammunition belts. He slipped the belts around him in a crisscross pattern across his upper body before recollecting the original grenade launcher he'd used to take down the drone with his free hand before turning his attention towards rock whom had just now begun to head off.
"Rock, do you wish to have this back?" He raised the grenade launcher Rock had given him earlier and waved it around slightly, the newly acquired 'upgrade' still held firm in his right hand.

In a flurry of "me too"s, their once small, and somewhat intimate group had burgeoned into a full-on flash mob. And while Jam couldn't help but raise an eyebrow or two at the circumstances ("I swear, this is like some kinda movie,'r somethin'"), the task at hand, and the details of its implementation continued to claim the greater majority of her attention. With a mildly placated grin at Rock's fathomless zeal, the redder monkey shook her head, and lunged after him -- Only to stop uncoordinatedly short at Caz's address, rubber soles squeaking against the slick ground.
It was with a great deal of self awareness that Jam was able to remind herself that the question, while impeccably nerve-striking at the moment, was about as malicious in intent as was the mole, herself, which is to say it was meant to be about as harsh as cotton candy.
Nevertheless, for a good second or two in the interim between the question and its reply, the primate's brows laid totally horizontal, eyes half-lidded, and lips pulled between her teeth, before, with what seemed like wanton distress, she answered, "I'm... usually better equipped."
"But," she amended, her weak smile stretching in a a shadow of a smirk. "I'm also pretty flexible."
With that, she sprung lightly off the balls of her feet, and took off like a shot, hot on the heels of, and poised to overtake their white spearhead.

Although she seemed a bit startled at the joke, Key laughed softly in response to Ace's quip. "Hey. At this rate, I'll be lucky if I get properly paid at all." It was a good thing pay was only of secondary interest to the koala, the number of times her clients had failed to properly pay her.
She watched as the much more agile monkey took off and sighed. "Running. I hate running." She wasn't even sure if she could properly follow him at a brisk jog, but. What's more, as she deliberated, the other monkey shot past her as if it were nothing! Maybe she was in the wrong group, if this much running was required... Well, she was pretty sure that once she got closer to familiar territory, she'd have a vague idea of where this TV tower was, so she could catch up while the more enthusiastic made up for potentially getting lost. The name was naggingly familiar, as if she'd broken into it before. While she frequently forgot names, Key never forgot a structure.
Maybe she'd be of more use than she anticipated.

"D'eh!" It was only with a semi-awkward stumble forward did Rock literally slap Ace out of his winter groove. With an actively twitching brow and a grin that almost looked like a sneer, he followed. But not without comment, of course. "Why you always gotta be in such a rush? You don't like walks in the rain? Y'don't even know where you're goin'!"
It might have seemed odd, but a strange sense of... fun filtered through his synapses, chasing after Rock with everyone else. Maybe even fulfillment-- like he knew things were on track. "Come on, Caz, Rock needs to be there now!"
Among the steadily growing crowd of heroes, do-gooders, and well-intending bystanders pooling around her, Caz the mole paced herself behind, looking like she'd just seen a leprechaun giddily prancing across the field.
"Fffflexible..." she echoed with an intrigued tilt of her head in Jam's direction. "Aallrighty!" After a pair of quick deltoid stretches the mole crouched herself lower to the ground as if preparing to spring away. And she managed to keep up surprisingly well.
Tank just groaned loudly, and plopped his heavy feet on the same trajectory everyone else seemed to be going.

Jack was wringing water out of her hair still as the robot walked up beside her, slipping her cold metal arm in the loop of Jack arm she pulled the soppy wet griffin away from what she was doing towards their next destination.
"Woah, ho-what?" She stumbled after the robot who was going in increasingly faster to try and keep up. Jack pulled her arm away and had to jog next to the robot to keep up with her. Its a wonder her feet never ached running around in cowboy boots all the time.
"We're going to accompany the pilot and his companions to where Seven is going." Target informed her. "As he said 'we should pool our resources.' One of the others mentioned this is likely a trap."
"Don't be a fool Target, Ah'course its'a trap. The best we can hope is ta foul up enough of his plans to keep 'im from killin' us." She grimaced a bit, Rock was a bit to speedy for her to really keep pace with. Jack looked at the people schlepping threw the rain. Almost the entire group that had flown down and spent that night in the pumpkin hills has reassembled, along with new faces, both mechanical and horned. Jack started to stare at Rondolf, she didn't even realize she was doing it. But how could she not stare? It's a unicorn!
"Howdy. Yer a new face..." she noted to the unicorn as if it would make her examination of him a little less creepy. When she fully realized what she was doing, she quickly looked to where she was going. But not before she tripped and almost fell over. "I'm-Woaah-uh... Jack."

The bird quickly followed suit after Rock and the rest of the group. She lacked in speed but still managed to keep up with the back of the group. Out of the corner of her eye she examined the new guy. She was dying to ask a question but wasn't sure if it was proper to ask. Or if he would get angry. The quiet ones were always the worst angry.
Hearing Jack's own question made her go ahead and take the dive.
"I'm Ember! So are you like a goat or something? Only with one horn? Like a mutant or something?"

Rodolf looked prepared to take off after the group, but the questions directed his way gave him pause. He raised his eyebrows once more, but after a brief pause. "I am Rodolf," he said to Jack, taking a theatrical bow before he stood up again. He took note; a griffin? Not too surprising, considering his own species, but still... After he shook his now-soggy mass of white hair out of his eyes, he turned to Ember to regard her question. "And I am unicorn, not a... mutated goat."
He sounded a bit bewildered, honestly.
"But now is not the time for introductions and questions. Onwards?" he said, doing another sort of bow, indicating the way that Rock and company had gone with his hands, as if he were waiting for the griffin and the bird to go first. He may have been clipped and short in his demeanor, but at least he was polite.

Sheffer had been quick in joining the motions of the others, his legs pumping as he kept up with the pack leaders. A sense of excitement and long awaited want of confrontation washed over him as his feet splashed in puddles and brought him closer to their intended destination. Even a grin appeared on his lips as they went along.
This was it. They were going to take down that blasted kid. Tonight, nonetheless.
A new anxiousness built up in him, and soon, he sprinted ahead of most of the others, coming in step with Rock and Ace near the front of the growing group, there numbers suddenly large. Any fatigue he'd felt over the pass few days slipped away instantly, a new, much needed, adrenaline pumping through him. He was ready.

"Well Mr. Unicorn you sure are polite! Nice to meet you!"
Returning his bow with a quick one of her own she went back after the group. A unicorn? Isn't that the ones that all those little girls had chrushes on? Realzing she was off-topic she thought back to the matter at hand. She wasn't much of a fighter no, but maybe there was something she could do.
Plus one whole group against some little kid and his playmates? Easy deal!

Drifting slowly overhead—circling slowly—was a large, winged shape. As the party below began to move, the shape made one last turn, and headed off after them.

Without another word, Rodolf took off at a run after the ragtag mob; but meanwhile, somewhere a short ways away from where the group had moments before been congregated, there was a shout like a strangled cat.
"AUGH, WAIT UP!" With that, Mako came on the approach, tremendously late to the party. In a truly surreal moment, he failed to fall flat on his face, even though he stumbled more than once, yelling something further about not being left behind this time. He groaned at the receding backs of his comrades, friends, and people he knew only in passing.
"Cra-ha-haaaap. Oh, come on guys, waaaiiiiit!"
