Even Rock lunged back when the thing came out, leveling his gun on it with a single hand while the other rested on the grip of his knife. He looked like he was genuinely considering shooting it before Jam took care of the situation.
With appropriate haste, he holstered his weapon and hustled over to take care of the clasps.
"Well, there's some confirmation for us," blurted Rock bitterly as he stood straight again. "The kid's troops were grown in a GUN facility. Coop was tellin' the truth."

The hedgehog snapped out of his initial shock as he watched the monkeys take action, having the crystal on his arm absentmindedly be crumbled as he took a few steps forward.
"You're telling me you've seen those things before?" he asked in disbelief. "And that the kid had them?"
It took a few seconds for things to click in his mind.
"...the kid is part of GUN...."
He turned in a full three-sixty, staring at all the containers.
"...does that mean all those rantings from the eagle are true? Are they really aiming for some race superiority thing?"

Shortly after the hedgehogs last comments the sounds of heavy metallic footsteps slowly began to scrap and clatter across the floor emanating from between the back of two sparsely lit storage rows near the group, illuminated only by the dim red lights of the numerous containers resting on the shelves. After a only a few footsteps a calm, almost monotone, male voice spoke up.
"Such.. simple conclusions drawn so quickly for .. " The voice would pause a moment as the figure drew closer to the edge row and ceased it's advance at the very edge of the stronger illumination of the central lighting above. ".....matters not nearly as simple. " The figure would remain stationary in it's ill lit position as it silently took a moment to inspect the group as well as await a response from them.

Ace looked down at what would surely be known as 'the box' from then on with a look of utter disgust. "Unbelievable," he surmised of the situation, no shortage of venom in his voice spared for his revulsion. "What the hell are they thinking..."
And as the footsteps echoed, and everyone's ears surely twitched in unison, Ace directed that bane in a concentrated scope to whatever form had introduced itself to them, gun in both hands. "Lemme guess," he barked with audible ire, clearly in no mood for some dark figure's theatrics. "You're here to tell us all about it, aren't you?"

"Maybe he will if we don't start a gunfight," sighed monotone Rock, who, in his ragged rasp of tiredness, sounded maybe a couple more incidents away from a minor meltdown. Calls for restraint from someone like him may have seemed backwards or out of place, but in the labyrinthine mess of Rock's thought processes, procedures, ethics, and goals, existed a great deal of brazenness, yet relatively little brashness.
It wasn't to say he wasn't ready with hand on weapon, but he wasn't drawing on anyone who was approaching peacefully, and possibly with information.
"Tell us who you are," he requested flatly.

Though immediately suspicious of their new company, Jam had made no move away from the now latched box and its still scratching contents, which drew a concerned glance every few seconds.
And try though she did to focus on his cryptic messages, pieces were visibly coming together in her head as her eyes darted busily to and fro looking things both present and not. Her brow furrowed most deeply upon coming to rest on the blue glow just beyond the room.
Her jaw lowered as if to say something right about the same time that Rock chimed in with his indicting proviso. With a frustrated sigh, she dropped her gaze back to the box, before redirecting it expectantly to the figurative cigarette-smoking man.

The door they had entered through began to sustain damage from the other side. What sounded like a vulcan cannon began raking the outside, followed by the muted thumps and roars of explosions. It slowly began to deform and buckle, but its durability was certainly impressive.

( Pardon any... crappies here. Focus is a bit off, but i didn't want to hold every one up. ) "Neither of us have the time, nor would this be the place if we had to discuss such matters."
He'd stop speaking once more as the sounds of the assault on the door started echo. With impending intrusion the speaker would proceed from the ill lit row into the light and take a few steps towards the direction of the doorway before pausing.
"As for me, I am simply something that wishes to leave this place with my new found mobility."
What stepped into the light was perhaps not what may have expected. It was a vaguely humanoid robot based loosely on an as-of-yet unused eggman design, though heavily modified to be much sleeker in design, with nearly all its framework enclosed in smooth, protective, rounded plates in addition to actual arms. As the machine walked, its legs remained partially crouched position, yet given the modified avian design of its legs it still easily remained likely a foot taller then those of the nearby group.
"Do none of you find it odd this chaos ensued shortly after you arrived here in the depths of this facility? Regardless, you will soon be given a chance to release your hostilities..., I'd prefer if it was not toward me."

Rock looked from the robot to the others with a kind of... ooookay expression and small shrug.
"You want out, we want out—good enough for me," Rock replied with some haste, then turned to face the door. "I never turn down help from an AI."
It was time to make decisions, take action, and do it all very quickly. He turned around to his group. "You guys are tired of hearin' me give orders," he acknowledged. "Put up with it a little longer and we'll get outta here."
And with that, he began to dispense with orders, while briskly walking toward the emeralds
"Ace, Sheffer, watch the door. Jam, grab the Chaos emerald and join'em. I need you guys to buy me about one minute."
He seized the Chaosol Emerald from its box, set it out on the workbench, and started removing items from the pouches on his belt. A cap of some sort, some cord, a small, wired device, his multi-tool...
This couldn't end well.

It was clear from her hesitance that Jam really didn't trust the mysterious, lurking robot in a GUN base to not shoot them in the backs when first given the chance, but Rock made their decision for them, and with that, she began walking along side him as he pointed them all towards their objectives.
With a brisk nod that betrayed her building anxiety, she followed him to the emeralds at a trot. Seizing hold of her own, the pinker primate abruptly lunged into a sprint back toward her teammates to help hold down the door, but not before she (regrettably) saw what components the whiter was piecing together.
She dashed past with little more than a concern-laden, "God, I hope you know what you're doing."

Sentry duty for the door now. At least this gave something for the hedgehog to focus on other then the hideous thing he could still hear scratching furiously within the shut (and hopefully secured) box a few feet a way. Still, he found himself inching ever farther away, trying to ignore the noise of strange flesh on metal.
Instead, he became preoccupied with the door... the door that happened to be caving in quite drastically.
"This isn't going to be pleasant..." he told Ace, already suiting up for the umpteenth time that day.

Rock didn't answer. After all, his options were to lie or say something discouraging. He was having to figure it out as he went.
The first task was easy enough, and he completed it quickly. He had a timed detonator, the necessary wiring, and some detcord. Within seconds, the Chaosol Emerald was wrapped like a pretty little present and prepped, but not yet.
The second task was less simple. They had a horde of robots outside, and possibly troops. Eliminating at least one threat would help considerably. He began to scour the surrounding area.
He found an elaborate white, black, and silver composite container about the size of a footlocker. Inside... Chaos Drives. There were quite a few of those containers—probably something to do with the freaky army of artificial life forms. Unfortunately, useless to Rock at the moment. He quickly realized they could be useful to someone else, however, grabbed the case set it on the slick floor, and sent it zooming in the direction of the group with a swift shove of his boot.
"Ace! Here's ammo!" he shouted, then turned back to searching.
The door began to crack open at the center. It was too durable to come down all at once, with extensive segments reaching into the ceiling and floor, but the area where it joined at the center was a weak point, and it was bursting inward toward the group. Not too many shots spilled in yet, though. Most of the fire still seemed to be focused on the door itself, to make a more accessible opening. Nothing was trying to get in... yet. But if anyone chanced a glance through, they'd see a Hotshot walker and plenty of hunters outside to start shooting at.
Meanwhile, Rock was still working. He had one of Coop's blasting caps and a little more detcord. What could go with it?
He found a spool of copper wire under the counter; a box on the floor containing some useless lab supplies, but some foam packing sheets, which he for some reason found more interesting; a screwdriver in a toolkit; and, a metal cylinder that looked like the kind that was protruding from the backs of the freaky troops' heads.
"Have to do," he muttered, and set to work like a man possessed.

Ace seemed... a little disgruntled with whatever mysterious figure had brought itself upon them not being something he could just blow away, but ultimately acknowledged the situation anyway. Even before Rock had given him the orders, his gun was once again holstered (probably for the last time today). When he knew what do to, all he gave was a nod (maybe because Jam had already voiced his other opinions), and took off along with his hedgehog companion.
"Yeah, welcome to life with Rock," he answered with a smile. "Where s**t gets done..." Though he didn't seem to go right out and press his back the big, ominous metal door. A quick dash off to the side, and he was suddenly busy shoulder-shoving a pair of particularly heavy looking (and very conveniently chest high) metal crates to the door that was quickly crumbling. So before you could say 'war zone', they were lined up two feet away from the entryway, and Ace took a seat. Gone was his paperweight pistol, and in his hands glowed a full house.
Until he heard about the box shoved to his feet.
With some curiosity, he peeked over and into its contents, only to lean right back in some sort of flabbergasted awe. A week or so ago, Rock had given him a hand grenade to introduce to his unique ability, and that ended up with the whole house coming down on them.
He picked up a red one, and glanced at Rock, already busy with his own work.
Shoving the thing in his pocket, he puffed a sigh through one cheek, and grinned, shaking his head. Whatever troops were heading for them had no idea what they were in for.

"Starting to appreciate it more then the Sheriff's way with dealing things," he replied, now up to his neck in rock. "Might just keep going with you guys... just as long as we don't keep pissing on GUN's front lawn."
He sighed, looking at the weakening door, and noticing the new ammo that Rock had distributed to Ace. He clearly recalled what the cat was capable of with just some measly cards, knowing it was some sort of energy. But doing the same process with some Chaos Drives? The hedgehog hoped his crystal could hold against an accidental explosion of that sort.

"Yeah, it's another great day in the neighborhood, ain't it?" commented Jam wryly, as she slid into place behind Ace's impromptu, but timely cover. It was only once there that she again, realized to rapidly compounding frustration that there was little point in her being there on the front lines. Despite knowing this, she wasn't about to just sit there with her hands over her head; holding the Emerald in her palm, it glowed brightly for a second or two before her hand clasped it into nothingness, leaving her free to do things reckless and stupid.
Without hesitation, she began searching for more permeable targets while she drew her weapon. Near-simultaneous to her contact with the grip, though, a mild numbing sensation shot through her hand, causing it to recoil amid a feeble, barely visible spark. With a venomous round of expletives along the lines of, "...ddamn insult-to-injury static electricity" and "haven't been shocked in effin' years," she shook her head, and peeked out of cover once again, still cussing intermittently under her breath.
