Sonic Spindash RP is closed.

Founded 05/25/2002 by three friends; ended 09/19/2012.

It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

No sooner had the group walked inside than they were confronted by the other white-headed member of the party, Rouge the Bat. In contrast to the sober fatigues and various military shades of grey worn by everyone else in the room, she was wearing… pretty much the same thing as last time. She stood there—one hand on a hip—a splash of hot pink in a faded chrome world.

She was staring absent-mindedly out at the room as the four stepped through the door, and seemed to be chewing on the inside of one cheek.

She looked around—whether or not she had heard them approaching—and finally noticed them.

Her eyebrows shot up. She stopped chewing on her cheek.

"Well," she said, "look at you!"

She looked across the lot of them.

"You almost look official. Let's hope everyone else thinks so, hm? And you," she added to Rock, "that's an interesting costume."

"Surprise!" she added, to Jam, "didn't think you'd get to meet me again so soon, did you?"

Jam was remarkably and quietly well-behaved to be so out of her element; she didn't fidget, refrained from fussing with her uncomfortable new threads (despite how they chafed), and resisted the urge to play with her gun.

So unusually reserved was she, in fact, that for once, it was difficult to tell what was on her mind, as she marched along (in line, no less) in silent observation of their surroundings... This was of course, until they met their beloved, and surely much-missed contact.

Entirely dead-pan, both in expression and demeanor, the brightly colored monkey smothered in dark fatigues turned to their defacto leader, and responded in monotone, "Permission to jump for joy, sir."

Rock stopped inside and looked at Rouge coolly—which is to say, with a lukewarmness of indifference, not a coolness of style. With just a fleeting look to Jam, he turned attention back to the bat once more and requested through a quiet sigh, "Please don't troll my girlfriend."

He stopped and leaned back onto his rear heel, taking a moment to absorb the spartan lobby of concrete, polished granite and steel. He observed a security checkpoint ahead, which seemed to be getting increasingly well-manned, with no less than two officers shooting uninviting glares in their direction.

"Anything pertinent before we go in?" asked the simian with a hint of anxiety. Sure, tough and stern Rock Lochert was scared of no man—this was nearly memetic knowledge among those who knew him—but he seldom walked full-stride into any lion's dens as large or dangerous as this one. His apprehension about entering was visible in his tightly-pulled facial features.

"Hmm," Rouge looked between the two of them. The ironic smirk attached to her face didn't move, but her eyes lost their antagonistic glitter. She raised her eyebrows again, and then, abruptly, turned around on her heel.

"Well," she said, facing towards the greater interior of the prison, "this is the last Big Prison," -- She intoned the words 'Big Prison' like someone might say 'Big Apple' -- "The prisoners GUN didn't lose when they lost their last two prisons are here, now. It's crowded, and the security's nervous. Nobody wants you here, and nobody wants me here," she turned around again, and pressed two fingers across her mouth, arching them slightly so she could continue to speak, "and they'll be listening to every single word you say, when you get in with your visitor."

"Whatever it is those people didn't want me hearing," she added, smiling sweetly underneath the two coquettish fingers. "I'm going to have to go in with you to hear, so be tactful with your questions, please. We all know GUN's not exactly picky about how they keep their hands clean, and I don't want either of us to suddenly go missing."

"Don't look around for cameras," she added, "but they're probably watching us right now."

At this point, she removed her fingers from her mouth, and lightly rested them under her chin.

"So," she said, in apparently conversational interest, "who's your friend?"

The hedgehog had quickly learned who the briefly mentioned Rouge was upon entering, his eyes immediately picking up the spot of pink that interrupted the pattern of gray that surrounded them. He'd felt some questioning to who this bat was and why in the world she was dressed so... well, lets just say his eyes had indeed flickered up and down when they approached.

Now he was caught off guard as he was suddenly acknowledged, having been too busy trading glances with a nearby guard, one who didn't look to pleased at his arrival. He looked to the bat, blinking once as he began to comprehend that she was referencing him.

"...huh... who, me?"

Rock nodded in response to the confirmation of pretty much everything he already feared. When attention turned to the hedgehog, though, he thought a second before answering.

No sense in fake names or concealing it. GUN would get the information, regardless.

"Hawkins," he replied on the guy's behalf. "His name's Hawkins. He'll be... good to have along. I'll explain later."

He pointed toward the checkpoint and started moving, abruptly shifting gears. "Let's just get this over with."

Despite his (comparatively) casual appearance, Ace was quickly feeling the gravity of the situation with every pass of an armed guard or hypermax titanium door, and Rouge's carefully chosen words didn't help, either. He would've loved to comfort himself with the fact that they weren't here to pry around GUN's laundry list of less-than-legal activities-- but then he remembered that was almost exactly what they were there for. He was starting to feel that chill down his spine, like a winter breeze down his collar. The kind that came whenever he had a bad feeling about something.

"Damn," he whispered, feeling his teeth press against eachother. "I don't like this."

Ordinarily, Jam wasn't the type to allow herself to get worked up about any particular situation until anxiety registered on Rock. For whatever reason (trust, or faith, or whatever one would want to call it), she seemed to operate under the pretense that if Rock wasn't bothered, it wasn't worth being bothered over, and as such, historically had a tendency to be questionably reverent in sticky situations.

Today was not one of those days.

Even Rouge's endearing personality served as little more than a momentary break from her tension. She wore an expression of sobering concern, replete with perpetually furrowed brows over tight lips as she waffled between being distracted and remembering she couldn't afford to be. Repeatedly and compulsively, her hand would cross in front of her to rub absently at her right wrist, culminating in a low, shaky breath and fleeting envy of the mole waiting in the van.

A wall of bars separated the inside of the massive atrium from the outside. In the middle of it was wedged a small gateway, like a tollbooth, which was closed off like an air lock with two gates.

A trio of dour-looking men waited at the checkpoint, and stared down the approaching group with blankly unpleasant expressions. As they approached, one of the men moved defensively to stand in front of the gate.

He spoke.

"IDs, please."

It wasn't a request.

Rouge had stepped insouciantly up to the gate, and seemed slightly taken aback by the sudden request for ID.

"Tch" she clicked her tongue in scorn, "you know exactly who I am. I was here the day before yesterday."

"Yes Miss," replied the man, flatly.

"You big baby," chided Rouge, handing him a card that appeared from somewhere around her, "here you go, then."

The man took it, unaffected by the bat's insult. He looked at it, and he looked at her. He handed it back.

"Thank you," he stated, "next, please."

Rock stepped forward and tugged at the plastic badge hanging from the breast of his coat. It was on a thin, retracting cord, allowing it to be extended, but he just removed it and presented it directly.

"These three are entering under my authorization," he said with a vague tilt of his head toward Ace, Jam, and Sheffer. "Agent Rouge will be accompanying me to the maximum security detention wing as well."

"Alright," the guard replied, and then, to the rest of the group at large:

"Can I see some ID?"
