Updates Sonic Spindash RP is closed.Founded 05/25/2002 by three friends; ended 09/19/2012.
It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.
Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.
I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.
I love you guys. God bless.

"A human with powers, a chaos emerald, and intel on national security," he mumbled aloud in his attempt to summarize Jam's words. "Great... And here I'd thought conspiracy theories had gone out of style."
Growling lowly to himself, he planted a palm on the back of his head as he attempted sorting out his thoughts, and the varying circumstances that formed them. "Okay, so," he began. "Bomber-man's out of action, emerald's still on the loose, and now there's some crazy third-party human running amok. ...Damn!" He rose up in what seemed like frustration as all the information piled on top of him like a truck full of books. "All this $%@&'s goin' on, and what am I here for? We have any leads on our next move?"

The white primate opened his mouth, but stopped short. After a little thought, he stepped away from the wall he'd been leaning on and replied.
"A lot's been goin' on, but I... gotta admit, I don't have a lot of direction at the moment," Rock conceded. "A GUN contact does wanna to meet me tonight, though," he added.

Following a brief pause, the cat nodded with something of a grunt of acknowledgment as he stood more upright himself. "GUN contact," he echoed. "Alright, better than nothin'."
Crossing his arms one more time, his half-lidded eyes glanced to the side for a second or two in mock-deep-thought. With a friendly, if only slightly crooked half-smile, he turned to the pair, palm of his hand pulled out and upwards as he asked: "Mind if I tag along this time?"

Rock shrugged with half-lidded eyes, raised brows, tilted head, and that sort of whatev' indifferent faux-frown. "Fine w'me."
He walked off toward the building's side door.
"I'm gonna rinse off and call it an early day," he called back casually. The metal door squeaked open, and he disappeared inside.
Ace was a convenient excuse. Rock wasn't the kind of guy who would let on for a minute, but he had to have still been hurting, especially after suffering through a match the night before, too.

Mack, as was predictable for one of his age, responded with an eloquent, "Haaah?" which was met with a trainee-less-lot, and the sound of a shutting door in reply. Though doubtlessly he knew that he alone comprised his audience, the aged fowl immediately launched into a disgruntled tirade about taking things seriously, and how badly Rock's organs would be rearranged should he fail to do so.
Jam rolled her eyes and made to follow, holding the door open with her foot as if to say to the unsuspecting serval, "Trust me, you really don't wanna stay behind."
Throughout their discussion of the group's sole viable lead, she'd remained deliberately silent. When Rock took his leave, however, his redder counterpart visibly deflated as though she'd been holding her breath.
"Yeah, the more th'merrier," complained the primate at a mumble, scratching indelicately at her arm, an acidic scowl on her face. "This one just loves any chance to flaunt 'er fake rack and feminine wiles."
The door closed behind her with a heavy clack of slightly rusted metal, and, anticipating their rendezvous with Rouge later that evening, she missed her ring for the umpteenth time that day.

The sun had almost completely set by the time the group arrived at the selected rendezvous point.
Around a bunch of brightly-lit storefronts of shops, restaurants and bars, down a flight of stairs and into an alley-like corridor was a nearly stereotypical red-velvet rope line with a bouncer at the end. The group got through with some mumbled conversation and a dropped name from the group's de-facto leader, who then led the way in the door, down an empty hall to a private elevator. It had nothing but the trendy nonsense-name "3 Blu" above its doors.
When the doors opened on the club itself, Rock strode out slowly. There was a certain heaviness to the falls of his boots, like he didn't want to be there. Really, he looked about as unfascinated and indifferent as his name suggested he would.
The place was a dim-lit and mostly open-air club, glowing darkly with blue neon and gleaming stainless steel. Palm trees, some lighted, were all around, reaching up to the starry sky above. There was a glowing bar-top not far away, restaurant, a lot of tables scattered around, a stage with some musicians... It could have been cold, but glowing sail-like banners and other structural elements were placed to break the wind because of a pool and some hot tubs on one end of the roof, the bathers of which needed to not freeze to death. People swayed around pretentiously, spoke meaninglessly, drank their trendy little mixed drinks, and risked drowning in the haze of those trendy little mixed drinks.
Or that's how Rock viewed it, anyway. He spent quite a while just outside the elevator doors, staring in an intent search purely for the person they were there to meet. It was only failing that goal that he finally, begrudgingly started forward into the din of the swanky den.

It took a few blinks to adjust to the... eccentric lighting in 3 Blu, and as Jam followed their point man out of the lift, she frowned at Rouge's chosen meeting place.
"We're not gonna get anything done in here," she predicted in an irritated grumble to likely deaf ears. The impermeable wall of ambient noise would surely make discreet conversation a task, but the teeming masses of scenesters and their caterers would certainly make finding their contact frustrating.
Lacing her arms over her midsection, Layla huffed a taxed sigh, and edged toward Rock. "So, what now? Split up, gang?... Dog whistle?"

"Palm trees... God."
Alley cat though he was, the seedy scenery didn't seem to agree with Ace anymore than it did Rock. With his hands glued to the insides of his pockets, a brief, stink-eye sneer crawled along his muzzle, visible even in the moody blue light.
"Whatever we do, let's find that contact soon, huh?" he muttered. "Unless I find some real fancy or-durrvs soon, we've already spent too long here."

The environment was supposed to be relaxing, and was really designed to be so. Relaxing, exotic, alluring even, perhaps. Maybe it was telling of the three's personalities that looking at it only ticked them off.
"She's not hard to spot," Rock said (or nearly grunted). "We'd see her if she was here, or she'd have seen us. I say we get a table and wait."
He started toward the nearest one he could find that was visible, and sufficiently far from occupied tables. Along the way, he trundled slowly and with broad shoulders through bystanders and passerbys, as if to dare anyone to even so much as bump into him. He eventually found a table on a higher "terrace" of the seating area with a good view of the elevator and took a seat.
"I wanna excuse to throw somebody off this roof."

"Tch," muttered the mutinous monkey, shaking her head, and jutting a hip out to the side. "How typical she keep us waiting in this --"
Throwing a glance over her shoulder, she bit back a word of considerably less sophistry than she'd have picked, and finished with a clearing of her throat, and a contemptuous, "...place."
Jam walked wordlessly behind the blue-lit primate, and slid eagerly into a seat, promptly depositing her elbows onto the table, ears perking at the amicable topic of discussion.
"Can I help?" she asked with a saccharine smile, as though offering to pour tea.

After a few moments, one of the waiters—who largely seemed to spend their time orbiting gently between the pool and the bar—broke off from the barro-aqueous route and walked their way with a tray.
The waiter arrived and deposited on the table, from a tray, a solitary drink. It was in a very tall, very thin glass, and seemed to be comprised of quite a lot of thin, pale liquid which stretched up the length of the glass—bubbling slightly—until it reached the top, where it crested with an assortment of tropical fruits so diverse as to give the impression someone had diced up the contents of a small island for the preparation of the cocktail. A extremely long-handled plastic umbrella graced the whole drink, held in place by a small slice of orange that had been hooked over the rim of the glass. The whole drink seemed to be ice-cold and was gently condensing a thin layer of fog out of the air.
Contrary to anyone's expectations. The waiter was not a bat, it was a tall, thin, starling who—apart from being outfitted in a powder-blue jacket, was not anything especially out of the ordinary.

There was a moment of silence as Rock stared impatiently at the drink, then at the waiter. "Gonna leave a drink here without sayin' which of us it's for, and whose treat it is?" he asked, sounding just a little confrontational.

Her bright green eyes rolled up toward the obstructed celestial ceiling, simultaneous to dropping her chin into her folded arms.
"One guess," sighed Jam shortly.

The waiter looked down at the irate monkeys. He blinked.
"There was an order placed for this table by a member of your party," he said after a few moments—politely, and with only the slightest hint of apprehension.

"Really?" he asked rhetorically, settling back in his chair. After a few more seconds to think (while glaring at the glass), he raised an open hand and waved the situation off. "Don't worry about it. It's just a friend messin' with us, I'm sure. Thanks."
