Sonic Spindash RP is closed.

Founded 05/25/2002 by three friends; ended 09/19/2012.

It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

It wasn't long before the two made it to the doors at the end of the hall, the emerald still held out in his palm, watching it like he expected it to grow legs and dart off at any minute. The growths on the gem still steadily grew with each step he took, a few more spikes starting to appear on the surface.

Sheffer only let his eyes leave the rock as they arrived at the door, searching for some sort of button or handle that they could use to open it up. But, lo and behold, they slid open by themselves as they approached, the hedgehog giving a shrug that said "whatever works for me" as he continued to walk ahead through to the next section of the underground quarters.

... or he would have continued his trek ahead, except it appeared that as soon as the doors revealed the next step forward, so did it also reveal that the team what had been out chasing Henshin around had just returned from their migraine-inducing mission. A most sharply-dressed, suited individual complete with shades and security earpiece was taking the lead. That was one shiny, shiny badge on her lapel..

And, goodness, she looked -very- familiar. Wasn't she... the Power Mask fan?

... But she was currently being greeted by Hoji... right?

...

There was a pause as the entire team stopped in their tracks, every eye in that collective head glaring daggers at the hedgehog and shark. A few of the guards immediately drew their weapons, aiming their sights for the duo, before the dalmatian held up a hand. As the guards stood still, the two in front of them could quite possible feel the steely eyes behind the canine's shades just.. starin' 'em down. The tensions were raised further.

"... Sheffer Hawkins. Marcus 'Mako' Gale." The canine removed her sunglasses, seemingly so as to get a better look at the two trespassers. They were met with a most hardened gaze that was quite possibly better off hidden behind the shades -- she wasn't exactly in the best of spirits... "You both are supposed to be preparing for your upcoming trials in Mr. Vince's tournament. Not touring the employee districts like a couple of lost children." The dalmatian took a few steps forward as she spoke, placing the glasses back upon their former resting place.

"This area is off-limits, for very obvious reasons. I have a pretty good idea why you might be here, and I will tell you right now, you aren't going to get your impatient little mits on that prize before you've -earned- it. Normally, this would ensure your banishment from the park, as well as from the tournament, per the orders of my boss... However, it's my birthday today. I feel I have a need to be slightly generous in light of that... If you would be so kind as to follow me, I will delay my celebration further so that I can escort you block-headed boxers to your matches in queue."

With every eye of security detail watching their every breath... it was probably a mite difficult to refuse the offer...

Having hastily hid away the fake emerald (despite the fact the protrusions dug into his leg with painful results), Sheffer stood there with a look of utter defeat, not really seeming phased by the dalmatian's insults and overall ill mood, but just the fact they'd gotten close to the emerald, only to be stopped in their tracks. The cookie jar would still be out of reach for the moment, it seems.

Eying the guards with some uneasiness, especially with some of their weapons drawn, the hedgehog took a instinctive step back. A thought passed through his mind then, an image of a rampaging green boulder with legs going through the underground facility. He pushed it away though, knowing if he failed to locate the emerald, they'd boot him out of the tournament, and that went one extra boxer that could aid their little group's cause.

Giving a defeated sigh, he looked to the dalmatian. "Alright, alright. Ya caught us red-handed. We'll go in peace... just as long as these goons don't point their little toys at me."

Mako blinked a few times, gave a sideways glance at the hedgehog, and kept uncharacteristically tight-lipped as the dalmatian spoke. Though he was starting to form a theory that involved the words "army of clones", he was going to keep that to himself... for the time being, at least.

If nothing else, they now knew where the shiny rock they were questing for was being held... if they didn't move it after this...

The fish coughed once or twice into his hand, and as the hedgehog made his remark about toy guns, a few of those coughs sounded remarkably like "cool it, sparkles".

Now having the compliance of the two, the dalmatian snapped her fingers, and turned on her heel to head in the opposing direction. Upon her non-verbal command, a few of the guards filed behind the shark and the hedgehog, weapons being returned to their respective holsters. A few of the others remaining stayed to opposing sides of their honored 'guests' while two others still stayed close by to their superior. Moments later, the entire group was shuffled into an elevator shaft, which would shortly take them back up to the surface, right into the basement of the hotel. From there, Sheff and Mako would find themselves being led all the way back to the shuttle that would return them to their guest housing, to prepare for their upcoming rounds.

...

It will be well-noted by the hedgehog, if he was paying attention, that the signal appeared to be the strongest when it was just in the -lobby- of the hotel. Strange, that...
