It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

Mako sighed deeply as he trudged into the elevator alongside his compatriots. He tried to look at the positives-- Henshin had effectively destroyed any and all security problems by a truly time-honored method ("ooh, look at the shiny!"), and aside from the creepy atmosphere, there was probably nothing to worry about.

Hands put behind his head, he looked between the raccoon and the hedgehog, and said:
"Yeah, just look for an old janitor-dude covered in shiny rocks, like Shefferson."

After the three made their descent into the lower levels of the plateau, the pleasant sounds of the casino drifted from the speakers in the corners of the lift, if only to remind any potential travelers of the elevator how much fun they could probably be having, had they not been on the clock. (Or, in this particular case, trespassing, even.)

The doors opened up again as the transport came to a halt, and the three were greeted with the sight of a brightly lit corridor. Surrounding the elevator, janitorial equipment lined the walls, and the ancient turtle from before was seen shuffling his own tools into a particular space between trash trolleys. His ignorance to the new arrivals implied that he was quite possibly deaf, or... he really didn't care all that much.

As he made his departure to the left, a couple of suited individuals with suitcases headed off to the right. Straight ahead, the hallway extended further, the corridor curving off to the right as it went along.

It would appear that the three had just gained entry to the entirety of the employee's facilities, hidden deep within the confines of the resort's plateau.

... Now it was just a matter of which direction to go from here.

Having frozen on the spot at the aged, reptilian janitor, he gave a sigh of relief as the person in question shuffled off, leaving the trio alone in the hall. Be a shame to come all this way just to be busted by some old lizard.

"We're inside, doc," said Sheffer somewhat quietly with the Wild-Talkie, minding the fact someone could be near. "No clue where we're going, but I hope this fake emerald of yours works."

He patted his back pocket, feeling the object within it for reassurance that it was still there. Then, he took a step forward, deciding to take the hall straight ahead.

No response came from Dr. Henshin. Unknown to Sheffer and friends, somewhere above, a flashing, LED-covered, fireworks-spewing mess of a little old man careened his way through the tight airspace inside the casino's main hall, buzzing above the heads of screaming and ducking patrons with the sound of a thousand overdriven, amplified kazoos.

Yeah, he was still busy.

Mako paused and cupped a hand around his-- wait, did he even have visible ears?

"..."
He decided, after a moment of thought, that it was just the horrific sound ringing in his mind, and not that it was still going on somewhere in the far distance. The shark shook his head and followed after Sheff, keeping an eye out. "So we just, uh, wander?" he inquired of the hedgehog.

Hoji peered out of the elevator as stealthily as a brightly colored scarfed hero can as Sheffer attempted to make contact with Dr. Henshin. After a moment of no response, he ducked back in, looking at the hedgehog.

"Looks like we're on our own for now. Time to wing it." He said with some level of confidence, as if he'd done this sort of thing before. Anyway, it's not like they could wait in that elevator for further instructions... They didn't need someone calling the elevator from above while they waited.

He peered out once more to confirm the coast was clear before passing through the hall, taking the straight-ahead path, making his way to the end of the hall, stopping just short of the corner, pressing his back to the wall.

There's something to be said about a costumed hero attempting to be stealthy.

With the raccoon before him taking the role of stealthy-hero, Sheffer walked almost casually after him, seeming somewhat relaxed despite their already-in-motion break-in. Yet, if any of his partners paid attention, they would see his hand periodically move to his back pocket, as if expecting it to suddenly disappear. The fake emerald was their only way of finding the legitimate one, but whatever signal it was supposed to give when approaching the original was still unknown.

"Knowing Henshin, probably something extravagant... titled with Wild..." he muttered under his breath, eventually reaching Hoji.

"Coast clear?"

Clear though the coast might have immediately been, the silence was broken, after a few more seconds, by a loud clunk. Some ways down the hall, a large door opened, and out walked—slowly, and backward—a person wearing a loose-fitting white coat, pulling a large piece of equipment that squeaked along on castors.

As the piece of equipment cleared the door, the second person—pushing on the other end—appeared. This person wore a white coat, and both of them were wearing goggles and white caps over their heads. They had the appearance of a pair of doctors wheeling a gurney, except here the gurney seemed to be a strange, box-like thing on wheels, with what seemed to be an immense battery built into the base. One side of the thing seemed to be designed to swing open on heavy steel hinges, and this side was fronted with a glass port-hole, and a small panel of knobs and screens, and—as the two apparently-doctors moved the device around and began pushing it down the hall, a series of winding coolant tubes could be seen, attached at various points to the surface from which they wound back and forth. The whole box made a very distant droning noise and the men seemed intensely preoccupied with keeping it stable as they made their awkward way down the corridor, into the distance.

The corridor itself—seen from where Hoji, Sheff and Mako stood, peering out—curved away on either side, turning gently out of sight so that its ends could not be seen. As the men made their way further and further down the hall with the large piece of equipment in tow it became apparent that unless some effort was made to pursue them, they would very soon disappear from sight.

Sheffer watched the strange box and its escorts start to move away, confused to what it was, or better yet, what was inside it.

"Think we should follow them?" questioned the hedgehog with a whisper. "That thing might hold the emerald..." He slipped out the fake gem from his back pocket, looking at it. "But this thing isn't doing anything to show we're near one."

"Hoji?" He looked to the raccoon expectingly, seeing if he had any input.

Hoji watched as the box was carted down the hall, then looking at Sheff as he pulled out the fake emerald. He always had faith in Dr. Henshin's inventions, that they would work as intended. That if the fake emerald wasn't reacting, then there was a good chance that mysterious box didn't contain the emerald.

But... That didn't mean those scientist-looking fellows weren't taking that mysterious box someplace important -- for instance, where the emerald WAS located. It was hardly a possibility they could pass up, right?

"Let's see where they're taking it." He finally said before heading down the hall after the scientists, glancing down the hall at where they came from to make sure there wasn't another patrol following the scientists before continuing after them at a fair distance, not wanting to be seen, but also not wanting to heard by them either.

After about perhaps a hundred or so feet of stopping, starting, and cautious rotating, the two doctoroid figures bumped their way through another set of doors, into another room that faced the hall through currently shuttered glass windows. There were a few seconds as the doors moved shut, and then stillness from within the room.

Mako blinked a few times and looked like he had just tasted something unpleasant as he watched Hoji's retreating back. It was a wordless "do we have to?", but before the look had vacated from his face, he tiptoed forward.

"Gonna sprout third arms, or something..." The shark muttered as he followed begrudgingly after his comrade, idly wondering what would happen if they got caught, or they spoke too loud, or--

Realized why clumsy sharks with heavy tails should not tiptoe, as Mako proceeded to trip. His arms flailing like a windmill, he only so barely managed to catch himself before he fell forward. He took a deep breath, twitched, and with an "I'm okay", inwardly swore to walk on the entirety of his feet from here out.
And really hoped that nobody, friend or foe, saw that.

He watched as the doors were passed by the doctor-esque individuals, and rose an eyebrow.

With the hall now empty, Sheffer decided to take a few steps forward, peering at the doors at the far end. It was impossible to see beyond them, but whatever was inside, it had to be important. A lab, perhaps? He could already imagine a dozen Henshin's running about on the other side of the doors, except a bit more... sane.

"Let's just hope it isn't radiated in there..." he muttered as he walked down the hall, watching the doors begin to shut, hoping they could be opened again.

Probably wouldn't matter anyway... I'm half rock as it is.

Hoji continued to follow the scientists. As they got close to the door to the mystery room, where the mystery box was being taken, he looked at Sheffer...but they didn't have much time to discern whether or not the emerald was being held in there. Their window of opportunity was closing... Or the door, to be more precise.

He took a leap of faith, without much forethought and without waiting for his teammates, Hoji slipped through the doors behind the scientists, nearly losing his tail in the process.

"Yikes..." He said quietly under his breath as he looked back, yanking his tail forward just as the doors closed, then looking up quickly as if just remembering he was trespassing. Woops.

As Hoji managed to slip through the doors, a wave of chatter and applause met his ears. Although, as he looked back up from the doorway, it was clear that the noise was steadily dying down, until there was nary a whisper being passed around...

He had successfully infiltrated the room, that was for certain. However, what he hadn't counted on was the lack of anything to -hide- behind... Secondly, aside from the two scientists and their trolley (which was home to a magnificent piece of ice sculpture in the image of one of the many staff members in the resort), Hoji would be quick to realize that there were about twenty other heads in the room, all seated around a hardwood table topped with all sorts of food and delights, the most important of the group stationed at a fancy, leather seat at the opposite end of the room.

The obvious head of the group, who was apparently the dalmatian that fan-attacked Tank the night before, simply bore holes through the intruder with a most dangerous glare. A single snap of her fingers, and two of the canine's associates rose from the table, the duo dressed in proper security attire...

"There's nothing worth stealing here, save for my birthday present. An ice sculpture. By the way, top notch work with that, gentlemen. I knew you people were going to try to make off with the prize when people weren't watching, but I figured you would at -least- wait until the last few rounds!"

She gave a nod to the two officers, who both left their seats to swiftly move in on Hoji, handcuffs at the ready. "We'll find out which contender you are so we can disqualify you and suspend you from the resort until after the tournament. Have a good day."
