Sonic Spindash RP is closed.

Founded 05/25/2002 by three friends; ended 09/19/2012.

It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

OOC Note - See the hidden bracket for map info, since not everybody got linked to the image in-chat, I imagine. (Shoulda done this earlier, but ah well, getting it taken care of now anywho!)

What we're seeing right now is basically the bird's eye view of the whole district. The entire thing sits atop of an artificially crafted plateau, leaving the only way in through the elevator shaft. The elevators actually lead right to the Main Entrance, not really at the hotel (in case some folks were confused, I wasn't sure if anybody was about that or not). From there, after registration, characters can make use of a monorail system that are strewn throughout the bustling city to gain access to the hotel, and, from there, to any other 'district' of choice!

I figured I'd clear the air a bit about that, wasn't sure if folks were a little confused, or what have you, so there y' have it. Hope it helps out!

Annnd now I go with a post.

---

The dalmation clerk was still making doubly-sure that the two patrons in front of her had no further questions for her, with that same smile that never seemed to falter -- until something happened that took the smile off of her face, and replaced it with a look of utter... surprise...!

From the elevators, emerged a large, hulking reptile, whom then proceeded to make his way over in her direction, stopping just short of the hedgehog and the shark. All the employee seemed capable of at this point was to simply stare, taken aback by the sudden presence of this particular guest. A few moments passed before she was able to find her voice once more, her demeanor taking on an entirely new tone...

"O-oh, oh my goodness! You... you're that one fellow! Sir, you're... you're Alfonso Luis Garcia Aguirre Martinez Jr., otherwise known as Tank, the Power Mask himself...! I know all about you and your career, I..." She gave a respectful bow, though it was a rather -quick- one, as if she didn't dare miss a second of baring witness to the Tank's presence. "I've been a fan of yours for quite some time! It is an -honor-, an absolute honor to have you with us today!" About as giddy as a schoolgirl, the clerk went about eagerly trying to fish around in her pockets for something... "Ooer, where is that... that... o-oh, here we are..!"

Within an instant, she was standing right in front of the hulking turtle, presenting a spotted notebook and writing utensil, her face absolutely beaming. "Would you... would you be okay with autographing this for me, sir..? I would be very grateful..!"

... So. Someone has a fan.

Sheffer looked at the hand for a moment, a bit caught off guard by the random stranger greeting him. He slowly raised a hand, gripping hers in a light shake, but immediately noticed the layer of green powder on his arm. Hastily, he brushed the substance away with his free hand, watching it then scatter through the air, seeing some land on the lamb's shirt.

"..." He coughed, taking a step away before finally addressing the stranger.

"Yeah... er... guess that's me. Name's Sheffer, by the way," he said, appearing quite confused. "Now... uh... don't mind me asking... but... how do you know who I am?"

He wasn't known to be heard about by others, and especially by some lamb in a middle of a resort.

While Tank dealt with an excited fan, Sheffer tried to sort out his own unexpected fame, and the others gawked at the sights, Dr. Henshin took it upon himself to be business-minded and handle signing "the kids" up for the competition.

And so, over at the appropriate counter, some distance away from the others, he went along checking boxes, reading (i.e. not reading) paperwork, signing waivers (and forging the others' signatures thoughtlessly), recording guest and competitor names, and so on... Unfortunately, he forgot precisely who was a guest, and who was competing.

Tank, Sheffer, Hoji, Jack...

"... Hnn," he hummed thoughtfully and tapped the ink pen against his chin as he looked back at Mako. He ended shrugging and putting the shark down as a competitor. "No harm done," doc figured silently as he proceeded to legally obligate the hopeless boy to fight (see: get beaten up) in return for lodging.

"On Westside?" Rock retorted rhetorically to Ace as he approached the line along behind the elderly moth ahead, and started filling out papers. "It'd be an empty competition if they wanted clean sheets."

He skimmed the terms, and started putting down his information (passing a form and pen to Ace, as well). "I bet we won't see much in the way of real boxers here because'a that," he observed in a mutter. "No professional athlete's gonna wanna taint his good name by riskin' a loss in a setting like this."

Mako looked at the lamb. Then back to Sheffer. Then back to the lamb, then back to Sheffer. What was in her shirt? He looked again. Her shirt was now covered in diamonds.

Or, uh, the rock shed off of the hedgehog.

"... this just got reeeally weird," he remarked, blissfully unaware that a certain old insect was setting the shark up for certain annihilation. He cleared his throat, and was almost going to say something to Tank... before the dalmatian got to the giant tortoise first, and he blinked a couple times, looking a tad incredulous.

"... we're, uh, quite a group, aren't we?" he muttered to nobody in particular, rubbing the back of his head.

The grumpy little individual crossed his arms, watching the procession through the sign-in line.
...
Okay, admittedly, the giant tortoise (at whose feet the dalmatian was throwing herself) was a teensy bit off-putting, and he furrowed his brow a bit, making a quick tally. Monkey, monkey, cat, mole, spiky rat covered in rocks, griffin, raccoon... shark?
It was hard to tell, on first glance, who was heading in to sign up, and who was just the peanut gallery. There was one way to solve that question! Nothing wrong with a little scouting.

Murdoch strode with intent and purpose (and an employee staring daggers at the back of his head) toward the white monkey, and was promptly dwarfed by over a foot in comparison.

"Enterin'?" he asked simply, though likely rhetorically, clearly able to spy the sheets in Rock's hand.

"You forget," reminded the pinker primate, leaning on the counter next to Rock, absently nosing into his paperwork. "What people will put on the line for one of those roc--"

Enter the dragon. ...Or, tasmanian devil, more accurately. Jam couldn't help but look very pointedly at their visitor, then just as emphatically to the papers covered in Rock's handwriting, and back and forth several times. Surprisingly, however, she stayed her tongue, and managed to not say whatever was bouncing around in her head. Given the look on her face, it may very well have lead to the white competitor's first warm-up.

{[OOC: I feel I should clarify that Hoji was NOT saying that Sheffer was completely covered. I apologize for my confusing post, though. Chalk it up to the clusterpoop that is Hoji's thoughts. Eheh. Anywho}

Hoji came up behind behind good doctor at the registration desk, glancing back at Tank and his admirer. Thinking in the back of his mind that Tank hated people mixing his identities, for whatever reason. He arrived behind Henshin just in time to watch him forge his signaturem, watching him from over his shoulder.

"Old man." He said calmly, having waited for him to finish, "What are you doing?"

He glanced back at Mako, "Old man, I...don't think Mako...was going to fight." He said with a sigh. Poor kid.

Jack coughed as she exited the lift into the registration area. She took a deep breath once fresher air was offered out of the elevator, but it was full of the smell of many people milling around. She glanced around adjusting her hat in the meantime. Jack spotted the decomposing doctor filling out paperwork, her eyes narrowed a bit, Henshin certainly wasn't signing HIMSELF up. She sighed a bit rubbing her forehead tilting her hat up with a heavy sigh.

"I've fought my share ah' drunkin' fool's." She said glancing to Target, who's witnessed this. "I reckon I'll at least be able ta keep from gettin' hurt..."

Target nodded in response and started to drift over towards Hoji, whom she seemed to be quite fascinated by. Jack rolled her eyes and joined the other members of her group around Sheffer and Mako.

"Hey Sheffer, is this yer girrlfriend? She's cute." Jack said absently resting her hands on her hips. "Howdy thar, I'm Jack."

Rock's eyes flitted to their corners as the brawny little guy approached, then again as he stopped very close by. His brows lowered almost undetectably, but he continued what he was doing, and scrawled his signature and initials for what had to be the fourth time.

Then the question.

"... Yup," the primate answered, coming up short for anything to say besides that simple confirmation. In some sort of attempt to not be rude, he tacked on a low-spoken, "Sure am."

He took in a single sniff (either as an idle twitch or possibly because the green guy was noticeably malodorous) and blinked once. He tapped his pen a couple times on the desk as he looked the ruffian over, his own expression largely blank and not very telling at all. He then finished his forms in a few seconds more with no further comment, shoved his paper across the desk to the staff member, and laid his pen flat with a clack.

"Old man, I...don't think Mako...was going to fight," Hoji had said to Doc Henshin. The doctor indistinctly mumbled, "Is that so?" and continued writing, as if oblivious to the concern. "Oh well..." Scribble, scribble. "I'm sure he'll be fine..." Scratch, scribble. "A little head traaumaa... just builds character, hm? Yes..."

Ace was in the middle of penning his own Daniel R. Crawford when the furry little ball of hate that was Murdoch moseyed on over. His hand came to a sudden stop, but his eyes stayed on the paper for a second or two, before puffing an amused, but barely audible "hm" from his throat. Flip when the first page, and he kept on writing.

"Mmmm..." The mole had little to offer. Murdoch's presence managed to trigger her 'slightly uncomfortable' synapse, though she made a point not to show it, she nestled her way up behind Ace's shoulder to check out exactly what hoops were in need of jumping. "Hey Jam," she called with a turn of her head, offering a surely welcome change to the awkward silence. "Are you going in too? I bet you could."

"Aauhh..." the girl had done nothing if not catch Tank (currently dressed in mask and white suit) off guard. His irritable mood suddenly seemed to drift away, however. He couldn't possibly vent his anger on a stranger. Certainly not a fan! While he acted only slightly confusedly while she introduced herself (can you blame him?), his neutral lips (beak, whatever) soon shifted into a humble grin when she gave her request.

"Ha! Certainly," he answered cheerily, gently grasping the pen and paper in his sausage like fingers. "Aye deed not know my image rrleached soch leemots. Hwoo should aye sein eet too?"

Mako might well have fallen onto the floor with a burst of laughter at Jack's question... had he not heard his name, as people are prone to do, from over by the moth and the raccoon, blinked a couple times, and walked over, peering over the moth's shoulder.
"What's going o--"
And then he laid eyes on what the moth was doing (complete with forged signature-- the moth had even managed to copy the little shark-tail at the end of his surname in the signature!) and his jaw nearly hit the countertop. He would have liked to say a million things, a thousand burning questions, but all he could force out of his mouth was one word:
"WHAT."

On the Tasmanian devil's end, he put his arms akimbo, giving a little harumph (that probably sounded more like a wild horse's snort than a nobleman's delicate 'hem-hem').
"So shoot a guy 'fer askin'," he grumbled, flexing his fingers a bit as his eyes flicked from one person to the next. He seemed almost innocent as he shrugged, closed his eyes, and said: "Just wanted t'see who I might be goin' up against, yeah?"

"Name's Murdoch. Yer's?" He held out a hand for shaking to anyone who would take it, his other hand held open at his side, as if to say he was not, in fact, armed.

Introductions. Rock's worst enemy.

Rock had been in a good mood, though, and the guy was forthcoming, so, with mostly unnoticeable delay, he grasped Murdoch's hand in a firm shake. "Rock Lochert," he stated plainly. "It's probably gonna be that guy everybody needs to worry about, though," he added, darting eyes over toward where the hulking tortoise stood. It was nothing personal against Tank, but it did seem like he deserved a "win by default" belt.

Murdoch cast a look to the tortoise that Rock had indicated, and made another grunting noise. "True, that," he admitted with obvious grudge in his voice, "but I ain't gonna worry about it. He's prob'ly really slow. More sumo wrestler, y'think?"
Why, he sounded perfectly sociable.

After a moment of consideration, he tapped his toe on the floor, and gave a little smirk. "I would say I'd still worry about gettin' 'yer face slugged in by 'im," he added, "but I don't think y'got much face to punch in. No 'ffence."

Another brief pause of consideration. "Anyone else in his rabble goin' in?" he asked, pointing broadly at the rest of Rock's posse.

Peering over the shoulders of Rock as he filled out the enterance sheet, Ember managed to see more of what was being signed up for. Boxing...boxing was punching people is what she remembered. Failing to remember the exact time she managed to punch someone and win it was decided that it couldn't have been that long ago.

While she was considering all this, the newcomer had arrived. Judging from his clothing, body type, and oh so messy hair...he looked like an alright guy.

"I'm planning to enter. It looks like so much fun.", she replied in an almost 'too' cheery voice with a bright smile. "It can't hurt to try."

Rock's facial expression hadn't changed from the stony neutrality it held the moment Murdoch walked up, and still wasn't changing. He just sort of ... looked at the tasmanian devil. His penetrating stare was called off for a second by Ember's interjection, but it didn't change what he had to say to the stout little marsupial.

"... You talk too much," Rock flatly declared. "You'll know the score soon enough."

He sauntered away from the counter.
