"Hey!" Mako put his arms akimbo and put his hands on his hips at Sheffer's remark about sushi before pausing. "... oh. The real sushi. ... disregard the previous exclamation."

Sonic managed to not be too distracted by the newcomers (even though they, curiously enough, seemed to know Tails). He gave a nod in their direction, but ultimately stayed on task.

"It's good to know we've got some super heroes on our side this time," he said with a thumbs up and wink, probably feeding the super-honorable tortoise's ego. "Just watch yourself out there, though," he cautioned much more seriously as he turned and started toward the door. "Eggman doesn't seem to be in the game this time... and that worries me, seeing who is."

What was he getting at? Had he suffered a similar run-in with unknown third parties? Quite possibly, but getting Sonic to hang around and talk as long as they had was a feat in itself.

Unless interrupted, he'd swagger on his way out with a two-fingered wave over the shoulder.

"We're looking for Chaosol emeralds too. We tracked one to this building, but it looks like it's already safe!" Tails beamed contentedly.

He turned to Sonic, as the hedgehog began to leave, and then turned back to the group.

"Hey," the fox offered, "we'll probably see you all kinds of places if you're looking for the emeralds, too. So, seeya later!" and he waved at them over his shoulder as he ran after the hedgehog.

"Good news, everyone!" proclaimed Doc Henshin as he burst through a couple nearby double doors (which is to say, gently pushed them open with slightly increased haste, but it was bursting through for him). He was either oblivious or indifferent to the fact that Sonic the Hedgehog had been visiting, and was on his way out. "You don't have to make a cramped and sweaty mess of my clean and extravagant home! There will be training facilities and actual trainers on-site leading up to the beginning of the event!"

He hovered in place for just the right awkward amount of time for someone to feasibly start to make a comment on what he'd just said, then suddenly let forth an identical-sounding greeting, as if he had just entered the room again.

"Bad news, everyone! I just now remembered we don't have any way to transport us all to Westside Island! ... You'll all be flying coach."

Tank gazed very meaningfully at the two young heroes casual departure, somehow looking more inspired than he did roughly three minutes ago. "Ferewell, mai frliends," he whispered. "May our paths crrloss a-gain."

Cue the doctor. Cue Tank's response.

"Naht sofast!" he cried, complete with breathtakingly climactic finger-point (obviously galvanized by the guest appearance of Sonic and Tails). "There ees... a second option. Hwe can easily afforld ourrl own prrlivate ride there... Weeth mai own fonds."

Henshin considered briefly. Tank was filthy rich.

"Well, I've always been of the opinion that cramped travel in uncomfortable, stuffy conditions with complete strangers helps build character," he explained, weighing the options as if there was any real comparison, "but I suppose everyone else would appreciate the generosity of your offer." He straightened up, hands planted firmly on his sides, and then proclaimed, "It's decided, then! Tank!" Dynamic finger point. "You're in charge of travel arrangements! See if you can get us out this afternoon!"

When Henshin set a schedule, he didn't waste time. Poor Tank didn't know what he signed up for.
