Wild Badge started to nod to what Power Mask was saying, but his thoughts, as well as Power Mask's statement was cut off by the loud beeping of that device he gave their underwater scout.
To be honest, he wasn't entirely sure about his partner in justice's aquatic ability. They hadn't had an underwater mission in the past, but he was about to find out, because before he could act, Power Mask had already dove into the water, "Mask, wait!" He said to no avail.
Well, he wasn't about to ignore a call for help either, so he jumped in after Tank...once he was clear of the entry point, of course. He then followed Tank toward where he believed their beloved aquatic com padre was... Only for him not to be there.
It was about then that some shark torpedoes whizzed by them. He swam in front of Tank, and pointed toward the monorail, trying to convey that he should go check on the others. Hoji then took off in a swim after the torpedos, using the enhanced kinetic abilities that his Chaos Drives afforded him in hopes that they would lead him to Mako.

As Mako set out the Griffins attention drifted outside the train car they where stuck in. The prospect of having to take a dip worried her a great deal. Jack was kicking herself for not having dressed accordingly. The idea of a swim in her current attire wasn't something she was looking forward to.
Then she saw the metal shark robots. She pressed up against the glass, trying to look out against the reflection of the train cars internal lights to see more of what was going on. "Run-Er-SWIM Mako!" She said mostly to herself. Cheering the shark on though he surely couldn't hear her. Then the terribly inaccurate sharks started to swarm in, missing Mako by such a wide margin they started hitting the train car. Luckily Jack saw them coming.
"HOLD ON!" She warned Sheffer as she grabbed a poll for support as the train swayed when hit and lurched suddenly when one of the shark-bots exploded. She held her breath as the train caw swayed.
"Hurry guys." She said as she looked out into the dark waters around the car. She didn't know about Sheffer but the Sheriff was feeling rather helpless.

It was the small explosion that finally led Tank's attention in the right direction. Obviously, he wouldn't stay searching for Mako in the same two square feet on the ground, but the waters were not the brightest in the dim-lit room. Likewise, it drew attention to not only the Jawz bots chasing him, not only Wild Badge following after, but the poor... and suddenly much more malleable condition of the monorail as well. It was a matter of quick thinking now.
The tortoise silently prayed that Badge could catch up to his target, because Tank had another task now-- guaranteeing the safety of his team. Whether Jack's words were somehow magically heard was unclear, but they were certainly answered to. As his partner hunted down shark after shark, Tank knelt against the ground and launched himself towards the train car in a single bound. He presented himself through the window just long enough to make some vague kind of hand gesture to the others (and hoped they would recognize it as 'brace yourself',) before ducking under the vehicle, and kung-fu-gripping his hands to the bottom.
It took a lot less power for him to heave it all forward while it was underwater, but by no means was it easy either way...

While demonstrating why he was miserable at heroism -- that is, continuing use of the "scream and swim away" strategy -- Mako tossed a look over his shoulder. Behind the masses of robots intent on removing his living status, he caught a glimpse of the be-suited raccoon, and his eyebrows shot up before he remembered that the suit probably had something to do with it.
So that's why the TV characters always have those dorky helmets.
He turned his attention right around merely a few seconds before he would have collided with the nearest wall. With a yelp, Mako would have reminded anyone, were they watching, that he was indeed better underwater than on land, as he managed to whip himself around so his feet hit the wall instead of his face. For a moment, he appeared to be crouching down on the wall, before he sprung off again as though he were an underwater pinball.
When a couple of the none-too-bright robots near the forefront of the pursuing pack couldn't change direction in time and exploded rather impressively on the wall from which the real shark had deflected, one could almost see the little lightbulb turning on above Mako's head. Trying not to redirect the shark-seeking-torpedoes to become raccoon-seeking, he tried to motion to Hoji. Which here meant motioning wildly and rather spastically with his hands, while his tail and legs kept him moving.

The monorail actually moved fairly easily toward its destination with Tank's help; as the rail sloped a little further down into the deep, approaching the next stop, it even seemed to gain some momentum. With Mako so... dutifully keeping their enemies busy, they'd arrive in no time. The question was: Would they really be able to gain access easily? Back in that dark control room, there was a quiet groan. A goggle lens reflected the glare of the screen, which showed a distant shot of the monorail train being pushed toward the closed airlock by that burly turtle. *Beep.* "... They're about to reach the airlock," said the figure sitting in the chair, speaking almost at a whisper. It was definitely not Eggman. "Orders?" ... "So what?—If they trip an alarm, I mean. Why can't we just disable the security?" ... "Ohhh, right, the stupid vault... Okay, I'll just take'em out, then. And lemme know when you're finished with the codes." The airlock door ahead of the monorail slid open, and quietly awaited their entry. Once eventually inside, and successfully transferred to the airtight, drier confines, the group would find themselves in a considerably older looking structure, concrete, dank, and ugly, with pipes and valves aplenty, water aqueducts crossed by grated-metal catwalks that jangled loosely when they were stepped on, yellowish lighting that gave everything a dim, warm hue, and old wiring that seemed to droop from the metal ceiling in places, which wasn't terribly high over their heads. The corridor only seemed to go one way, and that direction agreed with the emerald radar. (And, as par the course, since folks like to have something to mentally map to the appearance, think... along the lines of this real-life submarine base, but more decrepit. http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/8215/aba ... ubmari.jpg )

Hoji managed to catch up with one of the torpedoes, grabbing it around it's midsection so it could pull him along, and give his arms and legs a break. Once he was caught up with Mako, though, he attempted drive the jawz into the ground, pulling himself over it with knees tucked into his chest, and then bring his legs down on top of it's chassis with a kinetically enhanced kick-out.
He floated there for a second as Mako flailed at him, trying to decipher what it was the shark was trying to say before he began to swim after him. No, he didn't know what Mako was trying to convey, but he decided to follow him anyways.
He glanced back at the train car, which was being moved manually by their bulky friend, and took notice that the corridor ahead of them was now opening up. The emerald radar in his HUD seemed to indicate that they were going the right way, still. Good.
What wasn't good, was that it was painfully obvious that someone was pulling strings somewhere, apparently holding the keys to their every advancement.

[]OOC: Edited, added more.[]
The sheriff looked at Tank with a smile when he came to their aid. She canted her head at his motioning but when the car lurched she grabbed the pole she'd been holding onto for support. She looked forward towards their goal. She wasn't expecting this to be easy. but a straight forward attack by Eggman was far easier to deal with then this covert stuff that left her both uneasy and very very angry.
"As soon as I find out who's doin' this, I'm gonna strangle them." she grumbled.
To her relief though, the hatch appeared unmoving and they nor Mask where horribly disfigured entering the bay. Once in an area not completely submerged in water she cautiously pryed the doors open, and jumped out, trusting Sheffer could manage the same.
"Thank heavens for you Mask. You really uh-pushed us out of the proverbial fire." She said rubbing her head and adjusting her hat. She looked around observing their exit options and potential threats. But for now, she was worried about those still swimming around with the mechanized sharks.

OOC: And just to make sure you guys know, you can feel free to assume the airlock operates without a hitch, no tricks involved, and go ahead and send your characters out of the train and stuff at your leisure once everybody's together.

Tank hopped onto the rusty new floor with an unnervingly audible creak beneath him. He whipped the both of his arms downward, splattering lines of seawater to the ground. The rest of him was fine as it was. He didn't mind the water, but he couldn't risk losing his luchador grip to simple H20.
"Ah, thank you," he replied with a genuine pleasantness that changed all too quickly. "But Iiii do not like our curlent surrloundingsssss." He drawled as his head slowly swiveled, eyes groping the new environment. "It iz clear that hwe arle not the only hwones in this base... Don't hyew theenk it eez odd," he began in a hushed almost-whisper. "...That the airlock perlforms so flawlessly now?"
He hummed to himself as his hulking shoulders tensed ever so slightly. "I fear I have only pooshed you out of the frlying pan, as hyou would say. We should stay close, and stand, hrrleady."

With a small, resistant creak, the monorail doors opened again, a very soaked hedgehog popping out. Sheffer had gone through the fortune of being within the splash radius during many of the moments of movement in the car, very much to his dislike, but what could he say? At least he was alive and breathing in a dry area.
Giving his own thanks to the overly large turtle, he proceeded in wringing out his shirt, a steady stream of water falling to the floor. After a moment, he gave up with the task, knowing he would just dry off on his own eventually.
"I'll agree on that, big guy," said Sheffer to Tank's last comment, glancing about the room. "Think we need to wait on our gilled friend first, though. That is, if he hasn't become robot chow out there yet..." He frowned slightly, looking in the direction from where the monorail car had came.

Out in the water, said fish had kept an eye on the moving monorail.
Okay. They were in. ... which meant now would be as good a time as any to make a freakin' break to re-join his compatriots. Making a completely incomprehensible over-the-shoulder hand motion, supposed to mean 'okay, we can ignore the torpedo things trying to remove our faces, just move' (how he intended this to be understood was a mystery), and he eventually realized this, sighed over-dramatically, and kept moving.
He took a beeline for the airlock, periodically making sure that his superhero chum was keeping up, and not going to be literally blown to superhero chum anytime soon. He also may have given a bit of a start when a rogue Jawz came screaming out from the side, straight towards his person, but wound up -- to his own surprise -- jerking around and batting it away with a combination of his bulky tail and right foot. Which actually hurt, quite a great deal, but sufficiently redirected it and sent it to the floor below with minimal bodily harm. Mako paused, and looked, blinking, at the Jawz, as it hit down, before he tossed a glance to Hoji, and mouthed 'wait, did I do that?'.
Yes, folks, he had actually done something at least somewhat impressive-- intentionally.
He chose not to dwell on it, though, making once more for the docking bay where his comrades awaited.

Badge looked at his shark companion as he took out what he hoped was the last of the jawz they'd have to deal with for a while, he gave him a thumbs up before looking toward the monorail. He walked over to see how everyone was doing after that fiasco.
"Mask is right. Someone is still watching us. Who knows what other tricks they may have in store..." He said as he looked further down the hall, getting his bearing on where the emerald was supposedly located, "Is everyone ready to advance, or do we need a moment to get our barrings?" He asked while looking among their motley collection of adventurers.

Jack waited for the group to gather, she smiled as each arrived into the bay. But she didn't seem to be listening, she stepped absently away as she stared up at the camera with it's little blinking red light. Jack's lips curled into a smirk as she raised her left hand, extending the third finger fully. Which probably looked odd, the sheriff giving the finger to some corner of the room. A second later her right hand drew her gun, her left brushed back the hammer and with a bang the lenses of the device shattered and sparks rained down, she smirked a bit, so glad she'd avoided getting wet thus far.
"Lets try an' ruin' their fun, stead of whinnin' 'bout this." She said turning to the others with a smirk.

"Hey."
Hoji cut in after Jack made her litle quip, walking past her, and down through the much drier hall before stopping, and looking back at her. The only look she'd get was the one she was giving through the reflection in his visor, so it was anyone's guess if he was glaring or not, "No one is whinin'. Just giving a simple warning."
He continued down the hall, obviously hoping the others would follow suit. They had an emerald to acquire, after all. And no telling what was through the next room!

OOC: I guess I'll just go ahead and push things forward a little more. I know the fact that I haven't been around much hasn't helped progression (as well as the fact that I've indirectly helped keep Ben and Rachel occupied during their visit, too), but please cut me some slack, and help me out a little here, too, if you will. Every post helps keep things alive.
--
As happy as Jack may have been about not getting wet yet... that satisfaction was soon to pass. The tunnel ahead—The one and only dim, dank, clammy tunnel—descended into a half-flooded corridor, the walls of which glistened with moisture and mildew. Algae collected all along the walls, and small fish swam in the neck-deep waters. Some old metal drums and wooden crates drifted here and there, only barely afloat. The path ahead seemed to get darker, but it was hard to tell how far it went on, because a T-shaped junction was the limit of their sight distance about thirty yards ahead. There were vents overhead, and still plenty of pipes running to and fro on the walls and ceilings, but nothing of particular threat or interest... just yet.
—Except for a splash from ahead, that seemed to come from the left path. And, if they listened very closely, one of them might have heard some distant beeping... Badge's radar indicated that they were literally just a jog (or swim) from the emerald's signal.
