It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

"Nnnngh," was roughly the sound Mako made as he finally wrested himself out of the pool of bed-dressings on the floor, clomping gracelessly towards the griffin. He plucked a donut haphazardly from the box, looking around the room. Eyes resting on Juneau for a second, he muttered, "don't remember you" in a half-daze, munching on the sugar-packed pastry.
"Any plan for heading off into this god-forsaken expanse of sand or whatev'r?" he inquired, before he looked at the still-dazing kangaroo-rat. He picked up his tail and dropped it to create an impressive thunk, raising his voice to a half-yell with a "Wakey-wakey, mousey man". Rat, mouse, big difference, as far as the shark was concerned. He couldn't be bothered to do much more.

"Well..." Sheffer threw a glance over to the still sleeping kangaroo rat. "Depends if he decides to wake up anytime soon." He took another bite of his donut. "But yeah, that's the plan."

Now fully dressed, he did seem prepared to go on a moment's notice. Not that he wasn't enjoying the griffin's hospitality (the donuts were a nice add-on), but he just had this determination to leave. It was almost as if he received a sense of dread from the group, as though he knew something bad could happen if he stayed around much longer. He guessed it was yesterday's events that gave him this presumption.

Feeling quite awake now, and grabbing another donut from the CT, there was something about him that had gone quite unnoticed, even to himself. His quills appeared to be changing, nothing too drastic or noticeable, but they seemed to have almost a strange... sparkle to them. Yet, he could not see him, and with no mirrors in the vicinity, he remained oblivious to the oncoming changes that would fall onto him.

bzzzzzzzzt. bzzzzzzzzt. bzzzzzzzzt.

And the phone would keep like that for a while, vibrating on the floor. Unfortunately, Ace was not as smart a sleeper as Rock was, and the monkey just happened to catch him at probably the worst time he could have: Early in the morning. Should he wait a bit...

"Hello, you've reached the number of Ace the serval who is unfortunately not street-smart enough to figure out how to programWhaddyahisdoin'ownGIMMEcellthat!phone."

...

"Ace's cell. Leave a message."

beep

A few yards away, Ace had somehow managed to find the coffee pot with what seemed like air-tight eyelids, and began pouring himself a (styrofoam) cup as he coddled the three donuts he'd called in his arms. No, he hadn't really said anything aside from a few Frankenstein-esque grunts and groans, either.

Rock tried calling one more time, but gave up after that voice mail message started again, and hung up the receiver. He gave the phone a neutral stare for a strained, thoughtful moment. "Either that ass hasn't dragged himself outta bed yet, or they confiscated his phone," he concluded quietly (but grumbly), and turned to Jam.

"What do you wanna do?" asked the primate, stretching his sore arms. He already had an idea of what they should do, but he looked to escape it by asking for an outside opinion.

And escape, he would not, lest he found someone else to ask, for Jam was feeling uncharacteristically (see: frustratingly) philanthropic/dutiful at the moment, and with an innocent, raised-browed expression, asked,

"What did Rekk say we should do?"

"Well, he wanted me to get the emerald," he explained, "but he changed his mind about sending me into a police station to take it back. ... I mean, honestly, can you imagine how that'd turn out?" Rock added more quietly, a pained look on his face as he remembered his last ten or twelve or fifteen tasings. "So he's gonna meet us."

"Oh," blurted Jam, a mild note a surprise tinting her tone. Apparently, she'd not been expecting such a favorable reply.

"Yeeeeeah, I can't see that goin' well after last night -- And your apparent history with Sheriff Coltrane back there."

She began to shift into a thoughtful posturing, but evidently remembered that in the currently glorious weather, she was trying to avoid letting furry parts of herself make any contact with the non-, and practically spasmed into a rigid almost-frisking position, sparing a hand to fan herself, while she adopted an appropriately miserable expression.

"Unless 'e'll be here, like... now, I vote we go kill some time in a less hellish climate. Maybe one with ice cream?"

"Target put that stuff over on that desk. Get you're gear together, once these boys are ready we're moving out." Jack said as she motioned towards a desk pushed up against the wall beside the door. The CT nodded, shuffling carefully to set down the coffee pot, remaining donuts, one box already empty he tossed it into the trash bin. After which he scurried out. Jack watched him go back to his desk, pausing in the door way, canting her head. Odd, why was his desk covered in cups? She shook her head, the trooper was more then odd enough for that to be an excuse in of itself.

"I'm sorry ta rush you boys, I know we all hadda late nite." She said as she approached the sleepy rodent. She leaded down and carefully shook his shoulder. "Hey, Mr. Cotton?"

"DAMNIT!"

Jack was startled a bit by her deputy's sudden outburst but she let it go, still attempting to wake the object of her partners affection. "There's doooonuts." She said softly trying to coax him up with sugary goodness.

"FFFFFFFUU-!"

"THAT's more then enough Target!" The Sheriff cut him off standing up. She left the rodent to walk to the door. There stood Target, holding two halves of two dozen cups carefully stapled together and filled with water, It was obvious when he tried to lift all of them they tore apart and drenched him and all of his desk. There was a moment before Jack snorted and laughed wholeheartedly at her deputy. "PPFFHAHAHA!"

Deep down she was just grateful it wasn't her desk this time. She turned towards the group still snickering. "Who did that? How'd you get past him to get out to his desk?" She asked looking around the room at the probably confused faces. She snickered again. "hehe. You're not in any trouble. I just need ta know how you got outta the dorms. Heh, It'sa security problem."

Juneau remained silently seated in front of the map unfolded out in front of him as he reached out towards the palm computer sitting near the maps center. He'd shift his focus momentarily towards Myr as he approached only to shake his head with the sudden cup commotion before turning his focus back towards his task and picked up the palm computer prior to leaning back against the wall.

Myr continued to over towards Juneau with a sleepy look on his face.. though consider he'd nearly always kept such an expression it was hard to tell if he was actually tied. Regardless He'd come to a rest hovering a few inches above the satchel pack near Juneau. By now any one whom hadn't already found their shoes likely would find their left shoes missing, all of which were now inside which ever of the the Sheriffs desk drawers with the room for them.

Sheffer let a small chuckle out as he looked past Jack to the utter mess the CT had created with his carrying system of cups, but only gave a shrug. "Don't know, Sheriff. Sure wasn't me... but whoever did it, nice one on their part.

Taking his attention away from the CT's water catastrophe, he looked to the griffin, his expression turning a bit more serious. "But, look... its Jack, right? Well, anyway... it seems to me that you're implying to come with Toby and me. Some big Eggman hunt, as it sounds. But really, I'm done with that. I just want to go home, kick out any robots that are left, and just relax, alright?"

He turned around, walking across the room and picking up his board, making sure to give a swift kick to the bottom of the rat's bunk.

"I've had enough adventure fun in the last few days. If I did agree with you on this whole 'find the emerald' thing, we'd probably just end up running into one of the doctor's bigger creations again. I've already had that happen once, and you know what happened? I got my ass handed to me, and we were plain lucky to take it down. If Eggman sent something better, we all would be screwed."

He had moved back to his spot next to the griffin, leaning on his board a bit. "That's my reasoning, so I would so very much appreciate it if you just let me go and be on my way."

Like a zombie from the grave, the kangaroo rat finally responded to the calls and the prodding and rose up, yawning heavily as he did. "...I'm up, I'm comin'..." Using his arm, the weary traveler wiped the drool from his face, and slowly plopped his feet on the ground. Toby rubbed his eyes, trying groggily to refocus on the room around him. He wiped the crust from his lids, and stood up a bit too quickly, knocking his noggin on the bunk above him. "YOW!!"

Toby stumbled forward holding his head in his hands, rubbing his poor cranium. "Ow ow ow owowowow...." Well, he was definitely awake now. As he finally got a good look at the room around him,two things registered in that thick skull. Number one was...

"Hey, doughnuts." The boarder shuffled over to the box and nabbed a cherry-filled pastry, wolfing down a large bite. Moving onto number two.

"Doowd." Cotton struggled to speak coherently as he stared at a strange oddity. "Wuffs uph wiff duh gwidder?" The green hedgehog's quills were looking unusually shiny this fine morning.

Mako blinked a few times, looking at Sheffer for a moment. Blink... blink... a quick rub of the eyes. Okay, so it wasn't just a tired sleepy-eyes illusion. Why... was he sparkling?

"Spiky, dude," he said to the hedgehog, after swallowing a bit of donut, "you look like one of the characters in those Sundown books my little sister likes. Y'didn't strike me as the sort to be into that."

Sheffer had first raised an eyebrow to Toby's muffled speech, but before he could speak, he was forced to throw an annoyed glance towards Mako.

"What in the world are you guys talking about?"

In the meantime, the sparkling was beginning to be joined by a strange substance growing on the tips of his quills, almost like a crust, starting to inch its way back to his head.

The white monkey raised his brows in a sort of weeell expression. "He does have a really fast car." That was an understatement, too—Also, not to mention that the guy had a license to break any traffic law in existence.

And so, Rock set foot out on the blazing-hot, gritty, barren ground, and plodded with heavy gravel crunches as he led the way toward the nearby town square (as if there was really much of a "town" worth mentioning beyond the square, in the first place). Before he got far, though, an odd tremor came up through the soles of his boots. He stopped short and hesitated, immediately perturbed by its severity. He looked over his shoulder to the sky rail station again, where another line of passenger cars were setting out, and wondered to himself about any possible correlation. Nothing else immediately tripped his senses, though, so he slowly set back into motion again, albeit with an unpleasant look about him, mismatched eyes attentively roving.

"Bling on your spikes?" Mako said, rubbing the back of his head. "Y'know, like those books, with Edmund and Jason and... yeah."

Ever a wizard with words, he paused. "... y'look like you've got glitter on your head," he summed up after a moment of deep contemplation, punctuating it with shoving the remaining half of his donut into his own mouth in one fell swoop. He paused, then reaffirmed: "lik'y'got glidder'r'somfin' on'yer'ead, yeah."

Maybe it was not the shark's best idea to do that and then try to speak.

"... where are my shoes...?
