Updates Sonic Spindash RP is closed.Founded 05/25/2002 by three friends; ended 09/19/2012.
It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.
Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.
I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.
I love you guys. God bless.

There was a smirk when Jam stroked his ego, refering to his awesome quick change. He gave her a thumbs up, "Thanks... Trade secret." He answered attempting to seem cryptic or mysterious, or something along those lines.
And as people continued to exchange pleasantries, it was clear that some were growing impatient, while others were content with standing around and talking. He looked at the hedgehog who shoved past Jack toward the diner.
"Heh. I like his initiative. I guess they're not all under this guy's thumb..." He said with a thumb motioned to Rock as he looked at Jack. He made no effort to hide the comment from the primate in question, either.
He continued after Sheffer, and made his way into the diner as well, sharing a table with the disgruntled and hungry hedgehog.

Rock was admittedly distracted with his exchange with Ace, but Hoji went so far out of his way to make sure he heard that, that the monkey distractedly (and dismissively) replied with a shooing motion: "Yeah, f*** you too, Doughnut Ranger."
Rock had already dismissed any notion that there was any formal group that he had any control over or command of, anyway, so he wasn't really bothered, so much as just tired of people with badges. ... Even the fake ones.

Sheffer threw the 'coon a glance, remembering his flashy costume from before. He had been somewhat impressive with his mid-air kicking-of-lava show, but he came off as the type to enjoy having his ego spoon-fed. Hopefully he wouldn't be expecting it right now...
"So, Superman..." he began, looking to him again. "What do you think of our 'captain' out there?"

"Please, call me Hoji." He said with a chuckle as he sat down at the table. He did enjoy having his ego spoon-fed, to be sure. But it wasn't something he ever begged for. His ego was plenty healthy without anyone's help.
"Captain?" he inquired with a confused blink, but then unsure enlightenment washed over him, "Oh. That 'Lochert' guy?" He continued, just repeating the name that Jack used. "Truth be told, I'm not sure why everyone's so reluctant to act without his say-so. He doesn't seem like he sees himself as the leader."

"I'd agree on that," he replied, growing a bit more relaxed and leaning back in his seat. "Don't see why he is so high and mighty in everyone else's eyes. Mind you, I haven't been around as long as the rest, but I haven't seen anything too spectacular yet."
The raccoon was already turning out different then he had suspected; maybe even the first he could connect with on the long "adventure" he'd been experiencing for the last day. Maybe if he could look past the whole superhero motif, Hoji wouldn't be too bad.
Just then, a waitress appeared, and Sheffer took his order; a good ol' burger with fries. Nothing fancy, really. He just needed to quiet his growling stomach.

OOC: I have taken the liberty of ... slightly time-arranging so that Rock did not have interaction with so many people simultaneously (Tails, Badge, etc.), so in this post I will now finally have rock actually reply to Tails. I know the delay is kind of jarring, but, it gets kind of hairy in these situations where everybody's got something to say, so bear with me.
---
Finally, between his discussion with Ace and the persistent berating from a couple of badges, Rock caught wind of a somewhat more meek voice actually saying something... relatively friendly. At least inviting.
He sighed. "I appreciate all your help today, and,... y'know, I'd be happy to do whatever I can to help you two find your emeralds," he added, sort of gesticulating a shrug, "but right now? I don't think I oughta stick around. Too many egos."
He nodded his head in the direction of the diner, and rolled his eyes.
"Feels like I could've captured Eggman, made world peace, and fed every homeless person on the planet, and I'd still have SSD agents snubbin' me, cops wantin'a arrest me, superheroes backtalkin' me, punks givin' me dirty looks... If everybody who tries to help people gets this kinda treatment, then..." His cheeks puffed out with another agitated sigh through his teeth. "It's really no wonder nobody's heard from your friend in so long."

Ace turned from the primate in question just in time to shoot the vigilante a half-lidded, "f**k you too, tights" sort of look before turning back again, (mostly because Rock had almost literally stolen the words straight from his mouth)... but then stopped for a moment. It seemed the cat had finally come to realize that the town sheriff had was actually bipolar, and suddenly became friendly enough to offer a free meal. Two words that echoed through the cat's mind like a choir through a church. Two sounds followed immediately after: A growl from Ace's stomach-- and a growl from Ace's throat.
"It's all new to me," he replied with a shrug. "Hell, maybe if you're lucky, you'll get to drag me down along with you." It was probably the friendliest thing Ace could say as he looked back to the diner, weighing his options and considering the circumstances. "...Hold up," he said, and stopped in his tracks, his eyes on the diner again with a bothered look on his face.
"...Listen, I'm gonna take the sheriff up on her diner offer. I'm hungry, and the guy with the emerald needs a pair of eyes on him. Your place has a phone you can use, right?" As Ace asked, he was already whipping out the cell phone front his pocket (lotta pockets, that was for sure), and flashing a screen displaying a number to call.

When the climate so suddenly shifted to "everyone deny Rock before the griffin crows," so too did Jam's mellow minding of the group at large.
"What the hell is their problem!" she exclaimed in a roar that was clearly intended to carry. The decidedly pissed primate took a couple of lunging steps in the direction of the diner, but stopped short before she put herself in range of doing something that would justify incarceration.
"We didn' ask any of them to come along, an' we sure's s**t didn' ask them to stay!" she finally continued , whirling on her heel, and stomping back, yelling the last addendum over her shoulder quite loudly.
With a fire ablaze in her eyes that put the volcano they'd just escaped from to shame (which, they were only able to do because of Rock, everyone seemed to conveniently forget), the mad monkey turned her attention back to the suddenly appointed social pariah, rage-oblivious to whatever more important wrinkles he may have been trying iron out.
"A'right," fumed Jam, with her hands on her hips, and an indignant scowl etched into her maw. "Nobody gets t'follow us, anymore, I swear! Then they can blame their own damn selves fer not knowin' what t'do but sit on their asses when the s**t hits the fan. No more f**kin' party additions."
Then she noticed Tails. Again.
"...Er,... I meant 'freaking' and... 'poop,' and...uh."
"..."
"For what it's worth, I wadn' counting you."

Rock looked at the screen for a second, committed it to memory, then nodded.
"That's a good idea," he replied, reaching instinctively for his phone only to remember the tidal wave from earlier. "Ah, yeah, I don't really have a phone right now. I'll find a way to—..."
Jam was cussing up a storm next to him, and breaking his concentration. Not that he disagreed with anything she said, but, he was left blinking, and trying to get his train of thought back in place for a moment. He just... quietly put an arm around her shoulders and gave her a light, it's okay pat as he continued.
"...—a way to call you in the morning or somethin'. We'll meet up, have frosty milkshakes, some crap like that."

Ace kinda... stood there, blinding, and just a little bewildered in Jam's wake. "...Uh--yeah. Yeah, alright. You guys take care." And he started to take off, but not halfway to his destination, he stopped in his tracks and turned around. "Oh, and uh, Tails..." he said, drifting off a bit. "...Thanks a lot."
And with that, (and a quick wave goodbye), he was off... to the local diner, popping the bones in his neck and sighing as if he were to begin a massive workout. So, he walked through the door, shuffled through whatever crowd there already was, and plopped himself unceremoniously at whatever table his newest party was crowding around. He offered a stark utterance of "Hey'ow you doin'" that didn't imply he truly cared, and likewise ordered the biggest behemoth of a burger there was on the menu. F**k his diet, he had earned those calories.

The kangaroo rat wouldn't really get any reply. It seemed like all of a sudden their unofficial little crew was falling apart, and everything was coming down hard on Rock. He had the sheriff all up in his business, that green dude that still nobody seemed to really know jumping ship (seriously, who was that guy?), some literal costumed hero giving him grief, and Jam losing it over the whole ordeal. Totally not cool.
"Um... 'scuse me just a sec, I'll be right back. Watch my board for me!" Toby waved with his good arm at the capsule trooper as he trotted over to the two monkeys. There was no way he was letting them get away without at least saying thank you.
"Hey, uh... listen." His eyes drifted from Rock to Jam, and then back again. "Thanks for lettin' me tag along, guys. It was great meeting you both." He rocked back and forth as he spoke. "Don't... don't let this get to you, okay? We'd all be up s*** creek without a paddle right now if it wasn't for you. Here..." The boy reached into his pocket and pulled out what looked to be a business card. Toby jutted his hand towards Rock, holding out the card for him to take.
"This is the card for my folks' chao garden. My number's listed on the back. If you ever need me, you got me." If and when Rock took the card, he'd notice that it wasn't actually just one piece of paper Toby was handing over. Underneath, there were two other pieces shaped suspiciously like tickets.
"...And those are for you guys." A wide grin spread across the kangaroo rat's face.

"Uff, its heavier then I thought..." The CT said as he now struggled to carry the gear, and the two first aid kits he had for Toby. He stummbeled a bit and looked up at Toby when he turend back towards the monkeys. "Yeah! Sure! Ok! I'll meet you inside Mr. Cotton!"
And so the excitable trooper hurried into the diner. The booth the group was sitting at was filling up, so he gingerly (as if it'd shatter) he laid it across the seat of the booth to their right side, setting the two first aid kit's down on the table.
Jack shook her head, taking her hat off a moment to run a hand threw her hair. She turned to look at the white primate and his pink counterpart, who had quite the unladylike outburst, Jacks mouth hung open a moment, starring at the monkey who, not only reminded her a great deal of her paler comrade, but had the outburst inches from Tails.
"Oh great, She's just like him..." She said putting her hat back on. She took a deep breath, she'd have to be more diplomatic with this group, they seemed quick to anger, to say the least. "I'll save you a seat Tails."
The sheriff finally headed towards the diner, she'd have rathered ordered pizza at the station and fed her deputy's too, but this would do for now. She walked through the door, the waitress smiled at the Sheirff.
"Hey Sheriff! Can I get you the usual?"
"Please. An' add all of them to my tab please," She said as she approached the booths and her deputy looking over the menu. She grabbed it from him, then hit him over the head with it. "Darn-it Target, you don't eat, don't order any food just ta waste it."
Jack sat herself in the booth on the side opposite of Target. So her and target sat in separate booths to either side of the one the hedgehog, raccoon, cat and fish had sat in.
"So, I don't mean ta pester ya'll, but can I get some names? I'm Sheriff Jack, but ya'll can call me Sheriff 'er Jack, That's my Deputy, Target." She said, sitting sideways in her booth, she looked over her shoulder at the party, pointing at Target as she introduced him. "This'un, Is Hoji. An' a nut job, in cause you haven't noticed." She added pointing to the raccoon.

By this point, having slipped away quietly from the conflict and now ever-so-comfortably seated in the diner (meant in sarcasm, as his large tail was proving an obstacle to sitting comfortably) Mako had become deeply, sorely confused and totally failing to order anything, his hunger forgotten in the wake of being rather impressively lost.
"Today is weird," he said decisively and with a curious sense of grammar, putting his forehead down on the table. "... has been weird," he corrected himself after a moment. What with the hedgehog storming off and the monkeys going apeshit, and...
"... you know I still don't know any of your names," he remarked after a moment as he lifted his head from the table looked at the assembled, blinking. He hadn't had a chance between all the hell that had broken loose. "'m Mako," he said after a short delay, rubbing his forehead where it had made contact.
Somewhere in the back of his head he reminded himself that he probably owed Rock for something or the next for getting him out of the tank, but now did not seem the time or place to be singing the simian's praises, whether vocally or internally.

Hoji scratched the inside of his ear as Sheffer went on about Rock, already getting bored of the subject when the waitress came along.
"I'll have a coffee, and the rodeo burger." He said, smiling up at the waitress.
It was around then that they were joined by Ace, just in time to catch the waitress with his own order. He gave the cat a two finger salute, "Yo," he said then did a double take, and smirked, "Nice shirt." Apparently he was a fan. After all, he had a shirt with Ham Jordan on it.
And then moments later, the almighty sheriff appeared (along some of the other portal dwellers) and took the liberty of introducing him. He rolled his eyes at being called a nut job. "I prefer the term, eccentric."

Ace paused for a moment as he finally took a moment to give the 'coon a good once over, and adopted a similar, if mellower kind of smirk himself. "Thanks," he said in a somehow genuine sounding deadpan. "You too." He settled himself in his chair and tried to relax, all the while having a hard time getting rid of his grin. "You must be eccentric to order coffee this late."
