It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

If for only a second, a blue flash illuminated between the group, rendering them suddenly immobile.

Hitting the floor wasn't really a bad thing for Desmond, as he was partially immobile anyways. "Great," he thought to himself, quite angry at the collections of traps that apparently decorated the room. "Guessing that the guy couldn't pull of a meager round of one on one?" he called out to the dark void, carelessly as he didn't care if it was answered or not. To his dismay (or ironically), it seems that it was answered (though indirectly).

As though seconds passed by, Geoff ran straight at a concealed mine, causing an explosion that would have caused the ferret to at least black out. "That guy's pretty good if he's alright."

And then again, as if though timed, a light, as if powered by electricity, crackled in the air, illuminating the once dark room. Desmond's eyes strained a bit as his vision adjusted to the new and sudden lighting. Two new figures appeared, both whom he was unfamiliar with. "Friends of yours?" he inquired to his limp companion, "because honestly, I don't know if I can deal with anymore of this Seven guys buddies popping up right about now." He simply had it up to here with the boy, and quite honestly just wanted to plug one through his skull and call it done.

Yep... it was one of those days...

Mako, for his part, had done a rather impressive dive away from the bombs. Or, it may have been impressive if he hadn't landed entirely on his face. On his face, but mobile.... Better than the alternative.

The fish peered up from the floor as the electric light bathed the room. He blinked a few times, trying to adjust... and then he couldn't hold back just a bit of a toothy grin. If there was one person in the world he knew would have none of Seven's BS, and actually had proven she could do something about it, it was Jam, whether she was in partial Eggman uniform or not.

That by no means meant he was going to resign. "Never thought I'd be relieved to see an Eggman uniform," he said to nobody in particular as he pushed himself with some effort to his feet. He turned, then, watching as Geoff aimed at Seven.

... he'd wait to see what happened on that front, before he acted of his own accord. Even so, he felt his sharky body almost instinctively tensing. Just in case.
Despite the bleeding wounds that covered a good portion of his body at present, he felt surprisingly decent.

As the saying goes, no battle plan survives contact with the enemy. Seven's plans tended to work flawlessly until those critical moments — usually the moments when he had to fall back to fisticuffs with enemies, rather than baiting them into making mistakes and bumbling into hazards.

In this case, Seven, disrupted, irked, and maybe a little overly-resentful toward Jam, had wheeled out with a pair of machine pistols from inside his coat and let rip with fully automatic fire. He had only gotten a short blurt of gunfire out before he actually got clobbered from the side by Geoff. Yes, it was successful.

It seemed as though the strike went through some sort of previously-invisible field surrounding the boy, which pulsed and revealed its form as a sphere on impact. It was probably something that was intended to protect him from projectiles, but not, say, fast-moving stoney fists. He was still snapped sideways and sent skidding and tumbling across the metal floor. He failed to retain one of his guns, which clanked and slid toward the central stage (where the throne still lay toppled over).

Remarkably, he was upright again before he even stopped rolling. His steps stuttered in a stagger to bleed off the rest of his momentum, and he looked quite disheveled, but more angry than anything else as he tucked behind a counter-like bank of terminals.

"You idiots trusted these two enough to let them in on this? Are you really that petty?!" he yelled, incredulous.

"They didn't tell us anything," Rock replied in a yell that almost sounded like it had a laugh in it. Standing out in the middle of the open without cover like some sort of cowboy, pistol in hand, the white simian fired a few barely-aimed shots at Seven's cover just to try to rattle him. The streaking chaos-energy-powered blasts erupted in small, concussive bursts, denting and deforming the backside of the console he hid behind. "You think we don't hear things?"

"Yeah, pro tip, guys," concurred Jam in a brazen diversion of attention to the group of Eggman-dubbed nobodies. "The next time you steal someone's ride, make sure their killbot coworker idn't still sitting in the back seat, hearing everything you say."

Jam's bit of advice seemed to fall on deaf ears. At least on Geoff's part, that is. He was just too caught up in the fact he'd actually landed a proper smack on the kid, an achievement having only been held by a select few. But still, that shield seemed to have managed to take a good amount of the blunt force, and that certainly wasn't satisfactory for the green hedgehog.

Brimming with more confidence and less desperation, Geoff armored up (he'd seen those pistols, and he wasn't ready for a wound) and jogged towards the terminals. He fully intended to ruin Seven's attempt at staying within his cover, whether it was driving him out into the open or forcing some close quarters fighting. He at least had the defense necessary to counter whatever the kid had in store.

The minute he maneuvered around the console, he was ready with a pointed, rocky arm, prepared to go in for a swing when he found the kid.

Ace had, as it turned out, the misfortune of being caught... or partially caught in the 'blast' radius of the first stasis grenade that descended from behind him. Rather than diving out of the way, he instead wheeled around with his hands up in an aptly readied fighting stance that... proved utterly useless, and awkwardly backpedaled his way when he realized just what it was. In the end, his arm, and a good portion of his left leg (the limpy-injured one) was left completely numbed and paralyzed-- a really disorienting feeling, actually. And while it felt like those portions of his body were glued-in-space there, the other half of his body was free to gradually crawl his way out of there. If it sounded weird at all, that's only because it was, but he broke free of it eventually... just in time for Eggman's finest to drop (or phase) in.

"Well lookitchew two, makin' a big dramatic entrance," He was, actually, probably quite thankful Rock and Jam showed up when they did, even as he stomped the numbness out of his foot (Hey, it didn't hurt anymore! Bonus.), but if that was the case, it was hard to tell. He awkwardly marched his way in the direction of Seven with something... nasty in his eyes. "Not that I don't 'ppreciate it," (oh, there it was) "But this is a civilians-only beatdown." Again, there was some hypocrisy in his words, since he was relying on the other three, closer attackers acting as distractions if he wasn't going to get ventilated.

When Geoff came in and made his swing without the benefit of speed or the element of surprise, he undoubtedly found he was going to have a little harder time. Seven, the one unencumbered by stone armor and already quite agile by nature, sprang and flipped showily over the hedgehog's head before he could even so much as withdraw his arm from the punch, and maneuvered such that he could put the walking hunk of rock between himself and as many of the others as possible.

He was acting strangely, now, like he was up to something. He even holstered his weapon as soon as he landed, and reached for something else.

Given everything else that was going on, and the sporadic lighting conditions on top of that, it would've been very possible to miss the blip of a what the hell was that expression of distaste that Jam leveled at the feline before it segued into a much more universally recognizable shake of the head and roll of her eyes.

With one hand on her hip, and the other dangling at her side (seemingly limp, but clutching something actively sparking), the monkey's lax posturing looked just a little too at ease to be standing in a room with a psychopathic tween with an SMG. Despite all evidence that the pinker of the primates was more focused on chastising her allies than confronting her enemy, however, a sudden snap of the forearm lobbed the softball-sized, snarling ball of lightning she'd been nurturing straight at Seven's landing spot, regardless of what or who else might've shared the space.

"Not the time, Ace," she groaned, at last turning back towards the black-clad boy.

Seven took a leap straight up as Jam proved they were willing to attack him through Geoff, narrowly avoiding the spark-spitting burst of the ball-lightning. With his tremendous vertical jump, he managed to grab hold of a fluorescent light fixture, and with a crisp swing, twirl himself atop it. If anyone was able to see his face in those crazy lighting conditions (mostly powered by Jam's shield), they'd find that he looked somewhat unsettled.

From a pouch strapped to his thigh, he hastily pulled out a strange canister of metal, transparent plastic, and white polymer, from which came an intense yellow glow. The canister's top was wide, while it tapered down to a narrow, plug-like point. It was no time to take a break and fiddle with gadgets, for sure, but he must have hoped the ceiling clutter would at least make him hard to aim at for a second.

However, at that exact moment, the orbital launch the computer had been yapping about started. What had been rumbling and roaring became deafeningly worse, and everything rattled. Seven nearly dropped his container, and had to hang on for dear life as suddenly the whole ship groaned and thrust itself skyward.

The acceleration got worse. What felt like a light pressure atop those present amplified steadily until it was two times normal gravity, then three, then four, and still increasing.

Rock's posture went wide and his arms fanned out as he tried to keep his balance with the sudden lurch. His eyes darted; he seemed to think for a second. Then, just as suddenly as he had entered the fray, he abandoned it, making fast, but burdened and increasingly unstable steps toward the central platform, i.e. the "throne" platform, where the main controls of the command center seemed to be. Maybe it was to do something about the launch? Maybe not.

Lightning crackled right before Geoff as he turned to face the direction Seven had fled, finding the chaotic energy lapping over him for a brief moment. He didn't feel a spark of it in the slightest, but he still threw a glare Jam's way that seemed to only ask "really?" His focus was hasty to return to Seven, however, and in his unaffected state, he would have given chase to the acrobatic child, only to find him beyond his reach high above. Not like he was given many options once the ignition hit anyway.

Shake, rattle, and roll went the floor, and the hedgehog soon found himself fighting to just keep standing as the gravity decided to skyrocket. His stance slowly widened the more it increased, but soon he was struggling, his crystal-covered body starting to slump. As if in slow motion, he gradually fell to one knee, a clenched fist pressed against the metal floor. Soon, he just allowed the growths of crystal all around him to materialize at his joints, locking his limbs in place as he now remained motionless, waiting for the release of pressure.

Now, Geoff was no scientist, but with the Gs like they were, it felt like they had enough momentum to rocket straight to the moon and then some. Of course, this was exaggerated guessing, but all of this was turning out to be one hazardous process of quick escape. One would think Eggman would prefer a more comfortable status than this crushing liftoff.

Shadow lied only mere feet away from the central platform, flat on his back, his eyes still managing to glare up at the far off ceiling. Yet, there was palpable concentration in those red irises as the hedgehog remained motionless.

One finger twitched. Then another.

This gradual return of movement continued on even through the launching sequence, a frustrated glower forming as he went through the painstakingly slow process.

Ace moved with a slow, deliberate trudge; something that might've been scary to see in the wrong end of an alleyway, but it wasn't very useful in the middle of a brawl. As it was, he was far too eager for Seven to simply lay down and take his medicine. This was actually for the better in his case, since he hadn't covered nearly the distance necessary to feel the effects of Jam's lightning ball-- or at least, the physical effects. The message was still sent, and Jam got her's in return: a sunken-browed, lightning-fast, piercing sort of glare, that lasted for all of a second before their target leaped to the ceiling. Immediately, his seemingly empty hands were loaded with a trio of cards that were discarded (sorry) in a single swing almost as quickly as they were gathered.

But hit, or miss, or deflected, or whatever, there wasn't much a chance to add to that before everything suddenly felt much... much heavier than it did moments before. Within seconds, he was on his hands and knees, and growling appropriately. To fall was to submit... and he was far from the right place in his mind for that.

So he struggled, stubbornly, and perhaps pointlessly, using every ounce of strength in his bone and sinew to keep his chest off the ground. It was a splendid, if useless display, between his gnashing teeth and popping knuckles and even dripping sweat. He even managed to slip a foot under his stomach, but seemed to stop there...

As the acceleration came to create conditions nearing nine times Earth's normal gravity, the light fixture Seven gripped, further assailed by Ace, gave way under what amounted to be approximately 800 lb of extra weight, and swung free at one end, causing the fluorescent light bar to shoot sparks, swing, and dangle.

Pow. Seven hit the floor like a sandbag, no bounce, no tumble, just smashed into the floor and held there.

... Not that anyone could get at him in those conditions, anyway, though. And the device he had been messing with? It rolled away from him, out of reach.

Though Rock struggled even to stand under the increasing weight, much less walk, he managed to stagger up to the main console (and nearly collapse all over it in the process). There, bracing himself with his palms on the surface, he saw that several of the screens had the same thing on display: a red screen with bright yellow, heavily-emphasized text, reading out a long list of errors.

A1 INT. SENSOR FAULT :: NO RESPONSE - ACKNOWLEDGE FAULT
A2 INT. SENSOR FAULT :: NO RESPONSE - ACKNOWLEDGE FAULT
A3 INT. SENSOR FAULT :: NO RESPONSE - ACKNOWLEDGE FAULT
A4 INT. SENSOR FAULT :: NO RESPONSE - ACKNOWLEDGE FAULT

...

The list scrolled nearly off the screen. At the bottom, though, was what Rock seemed to find important.

LIFE SUPPORT - GRAV :: NO SENSOR INPUT - ACKNOWLEDGE FAULT
LIFE SUPPORT - ATMO :: NO SENSOR INPUT - ACKNOWLEDGE FAULT
LIFE SUPPORT - CLMT :: NO SENSOR INPUT - ACKNOWLEDGE FAULT

Straining to even keep an arm up (not to mention stay upright enough to still reach the console), Rock heavily pressed several keys, then began rapidly tapping one key in particular. Tack-tack-tack-tack-tack ... The yellow, bold messages one by one turned white and plain, and the "acknowledge fault" disappeared from beside them as each was cleared. With every press, he sank a little lower; in seconds, owing to G-forces, his perceived body weight was going to reach a thousand pounds, and there wouldn't be any way he'd stay upright.

But that didn't happen. The instant "LIFE SUPPORT - GRAV" was acknowledged, a low hum turned to a high whine until out of the audible range, and, all at once, all sensation of motion vanished, and normal Earth gravity was simulated again. Rock jerked bolt upright and stumbled aside as a result of the sudden change, but looked relieved all the same.
