Updates Sonic Spindash RP is closed.Founded 05/25/2002 by three friends; ended 09/19/2012.
It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.
Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.
I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.
I love you guys. God bless.

Li Fang looked awfully nonplussed to have been given that yarn. Perhaps he believed it, or maybe it was one of those purported questions he already knew the answer to. Whatever the case, his expression did not shift, save for an ever-so-slight raise of his green-scaled brows.
"You failed," he echoed quietly, his voice smooth and not overly deep, but somehow perpetually, unmistakably serious as the grave. "The media would have me believe the empire is gone, and you succeeded. Why is that?"

Ace shook his head, looking almost dissapointed. Word was spreading fast. "Then the media is as wise as ever, and crediting the wrong people. Eggman is out of the picture. We failed fighting against another faction with the same goal, working undercover as Eggman agents. They're the ones in charge, now, and you can thank them for dumping us off here. And if you already know this much," he said gravely, "...Then I'm guessing you know what they're calling themselves." He tried to sound confident in what he was saying, because he was. It was hard not to be intimidated, though, given the half-dressed interrogation approach, surrounded with at least three different people who could probably snap his neck without even flinching if he so much as looked at them funny.

Li Fang didn't acknowledge Ace's statement about what they were calling themselves. He just tilted his head ever so and gave Ace a most appraising look. "You're doing well," he said. "I almost want to believe you've done this before."
The reptile slithered slowly around the other side of his desk, dragging his hand along its glass edge. He seated himself soundlessly.
"You say many things, and project yourself as one who cooperates well and willingly, while you omit details you know are important," he stated placidly. Though speaking with carefully measured pace and no verbal haste, he clearly had little patience for the interrogation. "I still need to be convinced, Mr. Crawford. I know about your working relationship with this one," he gestured to Tracer, "and I know it's too opportune that you would 'happen' to crash here — 'happen' to find yourself fighting to foil her work for me here, Chun-nan, my home, across the world from your home. So, as if your well-being depends on it — and it does — tell me quickly who is now in control, what your relation is to them, and why they would send you to me, here, now."
He seemed to find himself, the here, and the now particularly critical at the moment just by the way he said those words. Perhaps it had to do with the mirror, and the fact that Ace and the others had arrived just in time to very nearly stop its theft. It did almost seem as if they had been dispatched... even if that was so very, very far from the truth.

Ace's eyes followed Fang cautiously as he tip-toed around the desk. He hadn't let his guard down-- far from it, now he was starting to sweat. The moment he heard 'You're doing well', he cursed inwardly, knowing he'd just nudged up against a proverbial landmine. One wrong move, and it'd blow up in his face.
"Look," he said, feeling himself start to lose his composure. "If you know my working relationship with Tracer, you'd know we only had one mission together that lasted three minutes before she tried back-stabbing our crew, and it blew up in her face. I figured her spaced." He must've realized he was veering off the motif of Mr. Fang's choosing, because after saying that, he promptly switched topics... but not before an almost shamed glance at his shoulder. Even after all this Hell... he was still reluctant to just give out their names like that. He had nothing right now, and he knew it intimately. But it was still too much to lose...
All he wanted was to see her again. And with the flash of her image in mind, his iron walls came tumbling down.
"...Chimera is led by a man called Lazarus Lochert," he finally spat, immediately feeling a small black hole swirling in his chest upon saying it, even with him conveniently forgetting about Jam. "I followed his lead for a long time, but we lost contact when he joined the empire. I thought he'd... betrayed me. Betrayed all of us. But he was just playing it too close to the chest. Nobody trusted him after that, though. We were promised a ride back to our own island, but ended up here. He probably threw us out here so we wouldn't get in his way."
He felt ashamed, and humiliated, but too at risk to feel sorry for himself, let alone the people he'd just set Li Fang's personal cross-hairs on. "That's all I know," he said finally, a twinge of defeat staining his voice. His thumb rubbed against his knuckles in anger, and his teeth were grinding.
"I'd never even heard of you, personally," he added, possibly out of spite. "Your goons just ruined my ride back home."

"... Hm."
It took several long, uncomfortable moments before Li Fang visibly reacted, but when he did, it almost sounded like the smallest, barely-amused hum of a laugh, and it came with a slow nod of the cold, cold reptile's head.
He said something in Chunese to the thugs, discomfiting any efforts Ace may have been making to discern how his story had been received. They nodded; the one with the wrench chortled and said something Ace couldn't understand, but was unmistakably wry-sounding. They then seized Ace under the arms to pull him out of his chair and haul him back toward where they'd found him.
Li rested his elbows on his desk and obscured his mouth with loosely-folded hands as he slouched forward in thought.

Tracers eyes narrowed on the back of the Ace's head as he went on. She turned on them?! She seethed inwardly at the injustice, regardless of her intentions it was an outright lie. One that wasn't worth correcting but that didn't seem to quell her rage. The truth, was that some joke in a costume showed up, started a fight with her, and the others jumped in. Tracer hadn't started a fight but she brought about its end.
Tracers anger took a back seat when Ace went on spilling his proverbial guts. Tracer was honestly shocked, she even took a moment to consider Ace wasn't being truthful, but ultimately came to the conclusion Ace enjoyed breathing too much to lie to Li Fang's face. Rock of all people was really leading Chimera. Of course this raised more then a few new questions. But time and place was everything, so she did what she was good at: looked dangerous and remained quiet.
She watched them drag out the cat, as she hadn't been dismissed she waited for Li Fang to do so before she'd go.

"Hey, where're you--"
Ace objected, but stopped himself. He knew he wouldn't get any answers. All he could do right now was play along until he knew what game they were playing. And if he didn't like it, then damned if he wasn't gonna change the rules. If one listened carefully, one could almost hear something like a sigh hissing out from the bottom of his throat. And if one listened very carefully, one might find that it was more like a subdued growl. He'd left just angry enough to plan for something drastic in the darker corners of his mind.

Some seconds after Ace had been removed from the room, Li Fang was still sitting statuesque in place. Without shifting or moving at all, he addressed Tracer and Archer, quietly stating, "That will be all."
Probably as they were about to depart and leave behind them the easiest job they'd likely ever done (stand and stare intimidatingly in case the hostage tries anything), the lizard lowered his hands to the desk, raised his head, and cast his gaze more directly on Tracer.
"Before you go—"
He drew a breath and squinted.
"Do you think he told the truth?"

She had turned to go, but paused when he addressed her again, She glanced back over his shoulder and met the crime bosses gaze. Unflinching. "It's possible."
That was the best answer she could give. Tracer knew of Chimera but nothing more then a name and a vague idea of what they'd been up to publicly, largely their disagreements with GUN. The Llama didn't have enough information to say for sure, so possibility was all she could offer. After giving her answer she turned and left, following her antlered companion out of the brightly lit room.

Ace found himself hauled down a different corridor than before, and the trip was longer. His captors seemed busier talking, now, rather than actively tormenting him. Clearly, they were having some sort of very funny and witty conversation, but not in any language Ace could understand. Right. Witty. These guys. One of them laughed so hard at something the other said that he lost a little snot. He didn't seem overly concerned with wiping it off. Even the armed guards they were passing seemed irritated by their presence. The walls through this new area looked of polished tile, shades of bone white and brown, with the occasional small skylight. Ace may have found it distantly familiar from when he was originally hauled in, half-conscious; a little closer observation would finally reveal the fact that they were in some kind of abandoned subway. It was the kind of place that, under any other circumstances, would have been kind of charming, even pretty in its own way. Nothing was pretty with the escort Ace had, though. The three canines soon dragged him through another, uglier utility corridor, past some circuit boxes and annoyingly-buzzing electrical equipment, and to another bland, metal door. The one with the wrench and gaudy jacket opened the door, and the others hurled Ace in. He would find that he landed on something that wasn't quite as hard as the concrete floor. One could only hope it wasn't a body.

It was like being in a dream. You knew you were alive, yet at the same time, you felt dead.
That was the current state of Wyatt. Having used almost all of his energy in a previous escape attempt, he only had enough to where he could still just [i]barely[i] function.
He was dimly aware of the bright light that washed over him, and the creak of the door as it was pulled open. However, he was in no way prepared for the massive weight of Ace as the other cat was thrown on top of him. The sudden impact jolted him, knocking what little air was in his lungs out. It took him a couple minutes, but he managed to regain his breath. He tried to respond in some way, but it only came out as a weak and tired groan.

"Aoh-- the %$*#!?"
Ace wheeled around as best he could without the use of his arms, just in time to shoot a soul-piercing glare at the big metal door slammed in his face. He seethed, clenching his fists behind his back. He was feeling just petty enough to memorize their faces and gaudy jackets, and personally place them on the top of his 'to-do list'. But for now, it seemed, that would have to wait. He had a roommate to greet. What other poor schmuck was unlucky as he was to be found here?
"...'Ey," he called simply. "You alive?"

Wyatt blinked a couple of times. Every single limb felt like a spaghetti noodle, and now there was another guy in the room asking how he was. He drew in a deep breath and forced out:
"Barely..."

Wyatt's eyes narrowed dangerously. The echoe of Ace's voice in his ears, coupled with the fact that he was weak, hungry, and cold, were causing his temper to flare. He dragged himself over to the nearest wall and pulled himself up against it. He growled in an annoyed fashion.
"How the f*ck would I know?" he shot back irritably. He'd been in here for the past two weeks, and had never been given the opportunity to figure out at least what COUNTRY he was in. Though, judging by the dialect spoken by the thugs, he guessed that he was in or near Chun-nan. He looked back to Ace, and forced his anger to go away. "I'm... I'm sorry... Wait, do you have any sort of electronic on you? Hell, even a AAA battery would do. Anything that holds electricity inside of it?" he asked hopefully.
