What is your character's name?
> Mary the Lamb

Species?
> Lamb

Age?
> 17

What's your character's personality like? Write a paragraph or two of general info about your character.

> To her adoring fans Mary is the outgoing, eccentric news reporter of Channel 5 News: an upbeat, daring, and free-spirited personality who provides and partakes in the most dangerous of news coverage. Yet despite her cheery, seemingly carefree exterior, she by no means fits the stereotype of her species. A number of people have made the mistake in taking her for this, which, unfortunately for them, tends to lead to a lot of problems later down the road...

Because quite contrary to when the camera's are rolling, Mary is a scheming manipulator, with almost every aspect of her public persona in reality, amped to unhealthy extremes. Pathologically free-spirited, she's a girl with little sense of right and wrong, hardly caring for how or who those heels of hers walk over if it means getting what it is she wants. She's indeed as spunky, and energetic as she is on the news, though this unabashed, fun-loving nature of hers often extends itself to the point of disregard, or at worst, intentionally sadist and masochistic tendencies. Mary is willing to try almost anything for a good thrill -- even that means going as far to throw herself into danger, instigate or even fabricate a conflict just to watch the unfolding spectacle occur at someone else's expense.

Yet, odd as it sounds, the entirety of her character can't quite be summed up as just a self-centered bitch, either. Occasionally, there are hints towards a more sincere person deep down. Living through the rough streets of Westside prior to her career has subsequently lost her a lot of sensitivity towards others for survival's sake, though not all of it. It's not that she can't even see individuals for the people they are as opposed to walking tools for her own amusement so much the fact that often times, she just doesn't like to let herself. But despite this, and her constant rationalizing it for something more conciously acceptable, Mary is nonetheless able to display great lengths of compassion for people -- provided it not too inconvienient with her interests, of course. And in the rare events she lets her guard down enough to genuinely bond with a person, she can become a formidable ally, using that same, dangerous tenacity typically used against others to ironically do whatever it takes to protect the few she'd admittingly call a 'friend' -- even if for most of the time, her antics potray a careless, not-so-funny way of showing it.

Does your character have any skills or special abilities, a gimmick, or anything that makes it stand out as an athlete or fighter? If so, talk a little about it here.

> Though her species doesn't offer any substantial ability or inherent strengths, upon moving in with her estranged father, his wealth, added to Mary's own hobbies and prior time on the streets have peppered her into a seasoned brawler. She might not be the strongest of fighters, but at best, is an expert gymnast with more energy than a kid on a sugar high to sustain herself. Mary can effortlessly combine even the most difficult of dance moves with street fighting and acrobatic teqniques offering swift movements and and fluid attacks with added flexibility and evasiveness as a bonus. Perhaps unsurprisingly, given the reoccuring violence of her birthplace, she's also developed a mild interest in firearms and how to use them. Carrying with her a Chaos-powered energy gun for long-ranged defense on missions, she's actually a decent shot with it, though nothing close to an expert in terms of accuracy, or when compared to other characters due to lack of practice. The faster and agile her opponents, the harder it gets for her to actually hit them successfully, so she usually prefers to confront people under close-ranged combat unless out of necessity. Besides, according to her, where's the fun in shooting down a good fight too quick?

Does your character have any goals, or a purpose?

> Simply to make the world she lives in more interesting by any means necessary. People only get one life to live, and she'd rather do what she can to spicen up hers.

Does your character have an image? Post it here, if so. If not, please write a description of your character's appearance.

Will you be around to play your character regularly? (i.e. Keeping daily tabs on any threads you involve yourself in, and posting whenever it's your turn?)

> Don't see any reasons why not to be at the moment. Sure!

And last but not least, what is your name? (For privacy purposes, you shouldn't post your last name! This forum isn't private!)

> Though its not my real name, call me Maren. S'what I tend to go by a lot of the time anyway, nowadays.

As you already know, I always thought a slightly malicious reporter would make a great character. The concept is something I welcome, and I will oh-so-happily encourage you to feel free to make any for-fun articles (or fictional excerpts thereof) you like to spice up the story. The whole thing could add interesting depth to it. But in summary, I like the way you've done everything.

But this isn't a space for me to gush about the stuff I like. It's for me to be a critical jerk. SO! First off, she's a spunky... sadomasochist? Perhaps you didn't mean it quite so literally as I'm used to thinking of with that kind of terminology, but that has the potential to be some pretty dark stuff, bordering on squicky, depending on what we're talking about, here. Aaand, the SC5 references could be a little heavy-handed in execution, being that she fights by dancing, carries an energy pistol, wears orange, and works for Channel 5, but that may be a matter of opinion, and how much it's played up.

I would probably just say to be cautious with the unrelated things you're incorporating into her identity, being that she's a brand new character, and your first in the story. As it stands now, she's a two-faced pseudo-antagonistic reporter who also happens to be a back-alley-brawler action girl with Sonic-style high-flying acro-gymnastic-breakdance-kung-fu and energy blaster gunslinging. If it's not played up too much, it can be fine. Just remember to leave room for development in some way. You probably won't want to start out trying to push the upper limits of combat.

That all said, it's good. I like it. It will add to the story. I'm marking it as accepted, and I will put up a starter wiki page soon. The above is not any list of demands for the character, but maybe consider it when you're polishing off the finishing touches on her in wiki-mode.

AND SHAZAAM, IT IS DONE. You've finally joined. Took you dang long enough.
