Before fully reviewing this, I'd just like to ask for some sort of greater explanation about where the gauntlet comes from (if you have it figured out) and where you expect its dead-set limitations will be power-wise. In other words, how easily do you picture this thing overpowering characters who aren't toting halogen lights everywhere to defend themselves? How can one resist being outright thrown about by it without resorting to the bright-light weakness? While it does seem like it'll be pretty useless in broad daylight, what makes it fair when the midnight hour rolls around? Now, if you want to keep the device's history a secret (which is by all means encouraged around these parts since we hate it when character profiles blandly splay out all of a character's inner workings and secrets), you can click the PM button below this post to explain it privately. |

The gauntlet is the result of Michael Hastings Senior's research, which seems to specialize in/revolve around ghosts. I kept it vague because the character (in the App referred to as Jack but I'm going to be calling him Mike since there already is a Jack, sorry about the confusion) knows little about his father's research. Something in it came from Pumpkin Hill, Michael Sr. seems extremely proud of it. But it was built entirely by the character in question's father. I'll PM you with more details. The Gauntlet isn't exactly combat material, since using it requires him to stay in one place and concentrate and if his focus is broken, the arm weakens significantly in its grip, while moving him at all actually dissolves the arm, so even if someone didn't have a light source (and a light doesn't have to be bright enough to dissipate the shadow in order to be effective against it- its power IS connected to how dark it is, so lighting up the arm any amount weakens it) they could get free by either distracting Mike or attacking/making him move. Given his standard panic response is 'hit the ground running', he's not too keen to hold his ground when using the gauntlet. |

Then let's give it a shot. Mike You can use your forum username and password to log in. Let me know if there are any issues. In regards to the character and its star ratings (which you are surely at least a touch familiar with if you've looked at any other character profiles), the gauntlet should be taken into consideration. This is because it's basically permanently attached to him, from the looks of things. In other words, if it's strong enough under optimal conditions to pick up anything terribly heavy, then make sure the Strength star rating reflects that, and so on, and so forth. Have fun, and be sure to let somebody know when you're finished and satisfied with your editing so we can give it a look-see, stamp it, and get you on your way into the RP! |
