Here goes nothing! First attempt!

What is your character's name?
Vade the Coyote

Species?
Coyote

Age?
16

Give us a couple paragraphs of general info about your character. For example, what's the character's personality like? What kind of things does he or she do? Why does he or she do it? (Please don't give us your character's point-by-point life history, though.)
Vade is an adventurous and reckless person. He tries to make things in some way more fun, and sometimes even goes as far as overcomplicating easy situations, just to make them into an enjoyable challenge. Although he is fairly sociable, he has a good tendency to try and handle things on his own, often resulting in him getting himself in trouble. If he gets an opportunity to either show off or to just enjoy himself, he won’t pass it up for anything.
Vade also has a bad habit of following the motto “Finders keepers”. If he comes across things he likes or he thinks he can use, don’t expect him to ask anyone for permission to take it. This altitude of his is even more noticeable when he is anywhere around extreme gear, seeing as he enjoys modifying gear to his own liking.
A good thing about Vade however is that his reckless behavior combined with his interest in extreme gear and other technological things have led him to making a couple of new and surprisingly useful contraptions, one of them being his spin-top with which he can travel across all sorts of surfaces easily.
You can also easily say that Vade doesn’t take a leaf in front of his mouth. If he has an opinion about something or someone, you can be sure he will spill it in most circumstances, with the appropriate consequences in many of those cases.
In his free time, when not messing about with gear, Vade enjoys just laying back and fiddling with all kinds of things. This has led him to proclaiming himself as the founder of a game he calls “Let a coin or ring balance on your nose”. Around other people, though, Vade can sometimes appear as a show-off, as well as sometimes being somewhat of the flirty type towards certain individuals of the opposite gender. He also won’t have a problem taking a nap during times that either he’s bored or there is nothing of interest to him going on, often both.
A signature thing of him is also to watch television while sitting upside down, meaning that his feet are up in the air, while his shoulders rest on the couch, and his head hangs down towards the floor, often accompanied by a bag of crisps.

Does your character have any skills or special abilities, a gimmick, or anything that makes it stand out as an athlete or fighter? If so, talk a little about it here. Be sure to include an explanation or origin story for anything unusual, extraordinary, or supernatural.
Vade himself doesn’t have many skills in specific, besides his technological skills. Those however help made an array of gadgets, though most are nothing more than handy things like automatic corkscrews. His only great success however, is his top-spin. During one of his personal scavenges, he found one of these top-spins in the Marble Garden, damaged and broken down. Intrigued by the design, Vade did the effort to drag it all the way to his little workshop near the edge of Spring City. That’s where he modified the top-spin into a new sort of extreme gear, utilizing it as a fast travelling mechanism, equipping it with the ability to soar at high enough speeds to cross water, as well as adding in spiked mechanisms to help it scale vertical surfaces. He constantly modifies and upgrades his top-spin in the hopes to make it perfect, dreaming of it to be able to soar at the same speed as Sonic.
Other than that, Vade will sometimes use a rod with the ability to let loose of electrical discharges to defend himself. The downside of the rod, however: It runs on batteries.

Does your character have any purpose? (It's okay if you don't have this fully figured out yet, but all the better if your character does have an agenda or some sort of driving force to it to make it interact with other characters.)
Vade doesn’t have a true purpose before him. He just wants to enjoy life to the fullest and take almost any challenge that comes his way. However, he does dream to make his top-spin a perfected piece of machinery that can keep up with Sonic at full speed.

Does your character have an image? You can post it here, if so (as long as you follow the rules mentioned in the character guidelines). If not, please write a description of your character's appearance.
Vade is a beige-colored coyote, standing at a decent 103 cm and weighing a little more than 37 kg. His general build is fairly athletic. His eyes are a light green color. His muzzle is a slightly lighter color, and his nose is a small doglike nose. When he grins, his canine fangs are always nicely visible. On his chest, he has some gray-colored hair, in a V-shape. His long and fuzzy tail also has some gray highlights, along with a red ribbon tied around it. His gloves have a metal wristband, with a metal plate attached to it to cover the back of his hands. His shoes are similar to them, having a metal band around his ankle, as well a metal plate on the top of his shoes. His shoes are further in two colors, yellow on the front and red in the back, with a lightning bolt shaped, black line separating the two colors about half-way his shoes. He also wears a pair of goggles on the top of his head, of which the glasses have somewhat of a shaded color, and the frame is coated in a metallic color, with the strap being plain black.

Will you be around to play your character regularly? (i.e. Keeping daily tabs on any threads you involve yourself in, and posting whenever it's your turn?)
I am active daily on the computer, and will always try to bring in a post of mine where necessary. I have a paranoid tendency to check forums I like about five to ten times per hour.

Do you live in or near the Americas, or elsewhere? (It may be difficult for you to participate in any of the fast-moving sessions if you're only online when the rest of the group is asleep, so we ask this just to be aware of any potential problems.)
I sadly enough live in Western Europe, Belgium to be more precise. Meaning that there will be quite a time difference. However, I am a nighthog at many points, but maybe not enough to participate in those fast-moving sessions.

Are you okay with having your character information and image on this website (such as on the wiki)?
I have no problem with that at all. I would almost be honored if people would steal my idea. Not saying I would like THAT, but still: Not a problem with having it on the website.

What is your name? (This question isn't optional. We need something to call you by that isn't your character's name. Don't post your last name, though! This forum isn't private.)
My real name is Gill, but like my username, Alpha and E1 are names I listen to as well.

Lastly, by submitting the above, you acknowledge your understanding of the following:

1. Even though we want things to be as friendly as possible here, this is a character review process. This involves critique, which is intended to highlight and iron out any possible problems in character profiles. (In other words, it doesn't mean we don't like you or your character if we point out issues, so chill, and don't get too worked up about imaginary cartoon characters on the internet.)

2. This is not a chat RP! This is a forum-based RP, as it says everywhere from the splash page, to the front page, to right under the logo of the page you're viewing now. Chat participation is still largely required to be a communicative and effective member of the community, however.

3. You have at least looked at the rules. You have at least looked at the main page and know that you are signing for an RP, and know what role-playing is. If you are unclear on anything, ask questions before you submit. Please. Please.

Don’t know if I have to write anything here, but just throwing it out there that I fully understand these three points.

There aren't really any problems here—the biggest one is the time zone thing, to be frank. But, what the heck, we'll give it a shot. I'm just sorry to say that if your involvement ends up slowing anything because of the time zone difference, however, you probably will be written out of threads.

So, anyway, consider this approved for the wiki stage. There are a couple of things that didn't sit well, though.

This random weapon is kind of out of the blue, given the rest of the character, and unclear in what it does. Is it a stun baton? Or do you intend it to actually fire lightning bolts like some sort of electrolaser? Since he's some sort of technophile, I guess it makes sense to have some sort of electric weapon, but you haven't yet described a character who has any reason to be a fighter, so it feels like an unrelated afterthought in light of the rest of the profile.

As long as you do not intend the chest tuft to look like Shadow's, the glove plate to look like Fang's, or the shoe plate to look like Knuckles', otherwise the character image (if your art panhandling in the chat last night actually worked) won't be allowed on the wiki.

Anyway, your character's wiki article has been started. (The part about the electro-rod thing has been omitted for now, but you can re-add it prior to approval if you flesh it out a bit more.)

You can use your forum username and password to log into the wiki and edit it. If you find anything confusing (especially regarding star ratings) don't hesitate to ask. Be sure to let someone know when you're done editing!

Have a good one.

Woops o.o
I had intended to remove the part about the rod! Completely forgot to do so ^^'

About the elements of his appearance, the fur is supposed to be much more a V-shape. If I have the right image in my head, Shadow had something more triangular. But in any case, I have no intention at all to steal their looks. If it turns out those elements bear too much resemblance to Knuckles, Fang and Shadow (or anyone else), I'll definatly change it up when desired!

Anyways. Let's see what we can do with this wiki page!

EDIT: I do have one question regarding the star ratings: Vade's top-spin increases his speed and such drastically. Do I need to use his skills with or without the top-spin for the star ratings?

Post subject:  Re: Vade the Coyote

Good question. I'd say the basic rule of thumb is that if it isn't a part of the character or isn't otherwise attached, it doesn't count toward the star ratings. So, let's go with the "without" option, but elsewhere in the profile (maybe the abilities section, or a trivia section about the spinning top, even, if you'd like) mention its speed.

Alright, got a quick question to finish this one up:

If my wiki page is checked and approved, I will still be able to edit it later to update it with a picture, if I alert the staff of this so they can give the picture their approval, correct?

If the answer to that is yes, then I would say my wiki page is about done, safe for the picture, and ready to be checked.

Post subject:  Re: Vade the Coyote

You can actually update your profile as often as you like without too much worry here. Lots of folks make continuous little tweaks and changes as time goes on. The restrictions are really only on changing star ratings, adding abilities, adding anything completely off the wall (like suddenly deciding your character is an experimental genetic offshoot of Project Shadow or something equally ridiculous), etc... Anything that may be unfair or break the rules. You get the idea. But just changing phrasing, adding images, and all that kind of stuff can be done pretty freely. If a picture is put up that doesn't jive, it'll just be taken down or turned into a link, but I wouldn't worry too much about that sort of stuff.

Anywho, one of us will take a look at your profile sometime tonight or tomorrow, most likely.

Stamped and approved. Welcome aboard. No changes were made (other than really minor and random stuff like typos and what have you, which were few).

Hopefully, the RP will soon get somewhere more open once we're done discussing how we want to start the next thread. Expect a new thread on South Island to pop up sometime over the next day or two.

Thank you ^^

I'll be waiting anxiously for a chance to join in on the RP.
