What is your character's name?
>Wyatt Evans

Species?
>Cat

Age?
>14

Give us a couple paragraphs of general info about your character. For example, what's the character's personality like? What kind of things does he or she do? Why does he or she do it? (Please don't give us your character's point-by-point life history, though.)

>Wyatt is a very sarcastic and teasing feline. He is self-centered, cocky, and more of a smart@$$ in most situations. Most would say that he has an over-inflated opinion of himself, to which most would be inclined to agree. He is a hopeless flirt, and can't help but become distracted by the pretty little woman that walked past, which can be dangerous if he has a job to do. He's left his home, out to face the world with his newly aquired powers as a sort of vigilante.

>Growing up in the heart of Spring City, Wyatt became an avent Conquistadors fan, and thus spent many of his days playing baseball with his friends in the many parks of the city. It is probably from being the best player on his street that he gained his "air-head" nature. He often speculates that someday he'll be the one to bring the Conquistadors from their terrible record.

Does your character have any skills or special abilities, a gimmick, or anything that makes it stand out as an athlete or fighter? If so, talk a little about it here. Be sure to include an explanation or origin story for anything unusual, extraordinary, or supernatural.

>About a year ago, Wyatt and his friends were playing baseball as usual at the park, when dark clouds began to form overhead. Despite his protests, his friends decided to call it a day and head inside while he stayed out. As expected, it began to rain. Armed with his prized possession, an autographed Rodriguez the Jaguar bat, Wyatt picked up a ball and attempted to recreate an amazing grand slam he'd seen a month earlier at a Conquistador game. He tossed his ball in the air and raised his bat to swing. Raising his bat was a terrible idea, as he became the tallest thing around, and was subsequently struck by lightning. He was found unconcious and rushed to a hospital. At first, doctors didn't believe he'd pull through, at least until they found that his vital signs had returned faster than normal. They began to rise past the normal rate. They also saw that the bolt was somehow rearranging his genetic code! Wyatt awoke as if he'd fallen asleep, and simply hopped out of the bed. That's when he realized that his speed, strength, and all around dexterity had been drastically increased by the bolt. Also, he found that he was able to gather energy from surrounding electronics and form it into a baseball-like weapon in his hands. Once thrown, these "heaters", as he named them, would explode into a shock blast on impact. He eventually recaimed his bat, which he discovered could be used to hit his heaters for extra range and power.

>He must use this power sparringly, for if he runs out of energy, he will slip into a coma until he recieves more. The more powerful of a heater he throws, the more energy that is drained from him. The lower on energy he is, the weaker and more sluggish he becomes. If all else fails, he isn't afraid to knock someone sensless with his bat.

Does your character have any purpose? (It's okay if you don't have this fully figured out yet, but all the better if your character does have an agenda or some sort of driving force to it to make it interact with other characters.)

>To travel the world in search of good deeds (but mostly fame) to perform in service of others.

Does your character have an image? You can post it here, if so (as long as you follow the rules mentioned in the character guidelines). If not, please write a description of your character's appearance.

>Red fur, save for his stomach, muzzle, and hands, which are burnt orange. He wears no clothing save for cleats and white batting gloves. His hair is messy and unkempt, with brown eyes and a seemingly ceaseless arrogant smirk.

Will you be around to play your character regularly? (i.e. Keeping daily tabs on any threads you involve yourself in, and posting whenever it's your turn?)
>Yes

Do you live in or near the Americas, or elsewhere? (It may be difficult for you to participate in any of the fast-moving sessions if you're only online when the rest of the group is asleep, so we ask this just to be aware of any potential problems.)
>Southern US

Are you okay with having your character information and image on this website (such as on the wiki)?
>Perfectly fine with it

What is your name? (Don't post your last name! This forum isn't private!)

I see you were perusing the wiki with our little fanon lore tie-ins here. That's pretty cool. I'm sure Rusty (the member who wrote the Conquistadors stuff and played Velo in the past) will be flattered.

Anyway, here's the dirty low-down.

Concept's clear, thematic, focused, agrees with itself, etc.; that says a lot in a fandom where the average fancharacter is a sword-swinging ki-blasting demonhogchidna. The consensus is that there's really no problem except for two things:

1. We already have a very longstanding, prominent original character here who wields electricity and is even capable of using this exact means of attack (that is, forming plasma/ball-lightning and hurling it like a ball). It's pretty much agreed that it's okay for there to be another person capable of doing this, but in the future as your character develops, you're gonna have to choose a different course of progression if your character builds on his powers any. That is to say, maybe you'll be looking at different kinds of ball attacks or something rather than becoming a more powerful electro-adept dude. This is just one possibility. The idea is just to stay clearly differentiated from Jam.

2. The somewhat-campy origin story is a tough pill to swallow even for our very soft-grade scifi, but I think we can all agree to gel with it as long as we aren't saying it's some kind of magical lightning bolt from a supernatural cloud that changed his DNA, but instead the trauma of getting blasted that somehow unearthed and triggered something already latently, inexplicably present in his DNA. Call it nitpicking, but it just rubs a little better on the ol' scifi-fantasy noggin.

If you're alright with these conditions, give it the nod here and we'll go ahead and start a wiki page for you to play with, a'right?

You didn't have to actually resubmit it here or anything. I was just asking if you were okay with the conditions laid out above (regarding progression, not becoming mini-Jam, and the real reason behind the power and all that good stuff), but I suppose a resubmission is another way of saying "yes," so we'll just go ahead and start the article.

Wyatt

In a few minutes (as soon as we get you in the correct usergroup) you'll be able to use your forum username and password to log into the wiki. Be sure to let somebody know when you're finished tinkering with your profile! Then you can hop into the RP at first opportunity.

That being said, the best way to learn how to get involved is to talk to and get to know folks, and the only real way to do that is the chat, so feel free to swing on by the IRC sometime.

Happy RPing.

Player turned out to be... not quite what was expected, and into some styles of RP we do not endorse on this forum. Furthermore, he turned out to be a member who had already gotten himself kicked out once prior. Also, he is suspected of being under our 15 year old age requirement, anyway. Removed.
