Hi Im new to this site and i have a couple of questions and yes i did read most of the important information about character creation and other things related to it.

1. do i just copy and paste the whole character sheet that you have already? and i saw other peoples characters like their favorite color,food,friends, etc... i like to know about all that so i can make it easy for me so i can turn my sheet in.

2. how does the role play work on this site is it like a voice chat system or a typing one? and yes i do know how to role play ive been doing it for a long time such as D&D, WC3, and other games.

3. ive noticed that some people are putting thier character into the sonic series like saying i fought with sonic or something else, but my story is about what happen to his life kinda off from sonic series. is that ok or does it have to be somewhere in the series?

Those would actually be the wiki profiles. We don't ask people to worry with filling out an entire, hyper-detailed character profile until they've submitted a much simpler one from here: How to submit your first character.

It's basically to avoid wasting prospective members' time by making sure they have a workable concept before they go through all the trouble of making a much more complicated profile.

It's a forum-based RP, all text. It isn't really anything like tabletop role-playing or other traditional forms of RPG, as there are no dice, numerical stats, or randomized gameplay elements. It's really just collaborative storytelling (extremely writing intensive) with a lot of other people, each portraying their own characters.

I know you said you looked at the rules, so I don't mean to offend you, but I have a feeling you may have at least missed some basic things. Our rules actually say not to make it so your character was involved in any of the plots of the games or official characters' histories. See the original character guidelines.



Anyway, all that said: If you're coming from a D&D/WC3/etc. background and expecting anything even slightly, even remotely like those examples, you're going to be incredibly disappointed. I would suggest taking a glance around the forum index, and maybe looking at an RP thread to see what kind of stuff goes on. I wouldn't want to see anyone waste time if it's not what they're looking for. Just for example, here's a randomly picked thread from the end of our previous story arc: Here

There are some other Sonic RPs out there on the web that actually use dice, chat, and so on to RP, though. Let me know if you want a link.

well i did some of the reading that you told me to look at and yes it does look alot different from the games that i have done but i would love to give it a try since im really into role playing. umm my character that i want to make isnt related to any of the characters from the official characters list unless there needs some changes with my character which i dont mind doing. Also ive been looking at the forums and i see that it goes by day by day when doing a chapter? and is there a certain time to play? well i live on the western part of the U.S and im currently working at graveyard shift which i can play during the day time til 9pm. from what i read probly just the first two or three pages of that link you sent me its like telling a story of what the characters are thinking and saying correct? I also would like to check out that other link that you told me about the one that you can play with dice for the sonic RP? Just want to see whats that one is like too since i have alot of spare time during the day i can do almost anything. Plus how can i get my character approve if i wanted to play this?? since i have been joting things about my character. :D :D :D

If you're having trouble reading along already, though, it may not bode well for actually joining. Anyone is welcome to apply, but no one's going to repeat things for you much. I politely advise you read carefully, or check out someplace that involves less reading.

As far as the other groups go? Sure, here are some links. I just want you to know none of us really know anyone from any of the following groups, and we're not affiliated or anything like that. They're just places we're aware of that exist out there on the internet.

- Sonic the Hedgehog RPs - I don't know how active this place is, but I do know they use dice.
- MobiusRP.com - Chat-based RP. May or may not use dice, I dunno. Haven't investigated.
- Sonic Cyclone - Forum-based. Not sure about their combat rules, but they have low standards and are presumably very easy to join. They'll accept anything. (I kid you not, their group leader's character is a shapeshifting furry five-star general with a magical axe, pyrokinetic powers, Harry Potter-style bag-of-holding, and no fewer than five super forms.)

Again, we're not associated with any of the above, but hopefully the links will be of some help.
