What is your character's name?> Toby Lamar Cotton
Species?> Kangaroo Rat
Age?> 16
What's your character's personality like? Write a paragraph or two of general info about your character.> Toby is a fire-cracker, plain and simple. His energy is something that never seems to fade, pushing him to wring the very last drop of joy out of what life throws him. His friends would describe him as the kind of guy that “would give you the shirt off his back,” and strangers would probably comment that he was unusually friendly. That said, the yellow rodent has definitely developed himself a case of middle-child syndrome, demonstrating attention seeking behavior frequently. Unfortunately, combined with Toby’s thrill-seeking nature, frequent disregard for danger and love of boarding, history shows the boy getting himself into precarious situations quite often. It’s worth noting, however, that Toby’s risk-taking occasionally pays off in a big way, leading him to take on a task that others would dismiss as impossible and succeed. He’s unflappable, optimistic, and out to catch your eye. Is it so wrong to want to be loved?
Oddly enough, when Toby actually finds himself in the occasional calm moment, he’s truthfully very introspective. If one were to examine the space deep underneath his bed, past the lost left socks and the three and a half month old spaghetti plate, they might just find a small book of poetry and musings on life, dreams and the deeper significance of boarding (People just don’t get it). His attention-grabbing behavior can sometimes make the boy seem self-centered, and at times, that’s certainly the case. At his core, however, there is a deeply empathetic soul that is eager to shoulder the burdens of others, even at the expense of himself. Unfortunately for him, that same empathy that produces a rare and valuable quality in Toby also fosters a great willingness to trust and understand others, which makes him gullible to a fault. Just like his recklessness, his trust is a double-edged sword, offering up both deep connections with others and an invitation to be used.
Does your character have any skills or special abilities, a gimmick, or anything that makes it stand out as an athlete or fighter? If so, talk a little about it here.> Given a hand-me-down board at an early age, Toby took to riding a gear like a duck to water. He may not be considered professional, but the boy has made some headway in amateur racing circuits around South Island, even to the point of taking home a few first place trophies. Toby’s attitude and fearlessness turn him into a bullet on a board, constantly pushing his limits until they break.
When they’re not fixed steadily on his board, Toby’s legs in and of themselves are pretty incredible. He may not be a speed demon, but Toby was born to jump, soaring into the sky with nothing more than the force of his own two feet. Built for jumping and strengthened by years of crouching and tight corners, Toby’s legs are truly a force to be reckoned with. Though he may not be trained in any form of traditional combat, getting caught by one of Toby’s kicks is far from fun for whoever’s on the receiving end. However, that certainly doesn’t make up for his complete lack of education on what to do in combat situations. Although boarding has made him perceptive, and his sense of hearing is great, his only real salvation in a fight of any kind is the element of surprise. Luckily, Toby doesn’t exactly seem to go around making enemies, so it usually isn’t too huge of a problem.
By no stretch of the imagination is Toby anything special as far as upper body strength goes, but what he has gets the job done. Most of what Toby is endowed with physically comes straight from his experience boarding and his family’s “work hard, play hard” lifestyle. When Toby isn’t working to help out with the chao garden his family oversees, checking out new boarding locales, or having one of those rare, contemplative moments, he’s usually out tackling his siblings to the ground in some rough-and-tumble game on his family’s huge plot of land. Toby is physically fit, and pretty hard to wear out, but just isn’t a brute.
Does your character have any goals, or a purpose?>Toby is out to better himself as a boarder constantly, causing him to seek out new, fresh locations to pit himself against. Aside from that, Toby is pretty much content to call wherever he is home for the night. Though he spends most of his time near to his home, his parents don’t seem to mind his frequent trips to who-knows-where. Content to sleep under the stars, Toby carries over-night essentials with him just in case he doesn’t feel like returning home at any given point. To keep him company, Toby always takes his chao, Kyle, along for the ride wherever he roams.

What is your character's name?> Kyle
Species?[b]
> Chao
[b]Age?> 4
What's your character's personality like? Write a paragraph or two of general info about your character.> Kyle loves three things: food, mischief, and Toby, with Toby taking the top spot by a wide, wide margin. Wherever Toby goes, Kyle is there tagging along at his heels, taking note of his every move. Just as Toby competes for the attention of his parents and others, Kyle fights for Toby’s attention like it’s an Olympic gold medal. He’s very affectionate to Toby and anyone in general who seems friendly. However, Kyle does have a pinch of prankster in him, pulling rudimentary jokes on unsuspecting victims. They’re usually harmless enough, and they generally stop with a little scolding or a simple development of relationship, but they can get old after time (They stopped
real quick for Toby’s father after one of his favorite ties ended up in the garbage disposal).
Does your character have any skills or special abilities, a gimmick, or anything that makes it stand out as an athlete or fighter? If so, talk a little about it here.> Kyle is a featherweight in the most extreme of senses, but does have one trick up his sleeve that occasionally makes itself useful in a pinch. Like most chao, with enough physical contact with a living thing, Kyle can temporarily copy an aspect of that thing to his own body, be it a limb, and attribute, or something else entirely. Unfortunately, it’s rare that this ability becomes useful, as it would take upwards of five seconds of direct physical contact with the subject to make a successful copy; more than enough time to rip the little jelly belly away. However, given the right subject and enough time, Kyle can become a short-lived glass cannon, offering up an unexpected advantage in a tricky spot.
Does your character have any goals, or a purpose?>To be like Toby, and to stay by his side.
Does your character have an image? Post it here, if so. If not, please write a description of your character's appearance.>
Will you be around to play your character regularly? (i.e. Keeping daily tabs on any threads you involve yourself in, and posting whenever it's your turn?)>I have a few large assignments as the school year finishes up, but after the next few weeks, I should be good as gold. I may still miss a day here and there, but they should be infrequent, and with excuse.
And last but not least, what is your name? (For privacy purposes, you shouldn't post your last name! This forum isn't private!)> David
