Giving the floor a hard look as he plotted his next course of action, Desmond looked back up at the ceiling, a bit worried on what the mad doctor could do. "Is this going to cause any major problems?" That was a rhetorical question to ask. Wherever the doctor went, problems were sure to follow. Almost his whole career was based on fixing them, which was a problem because even as he was mad, the guy was frikin smart. Taking his attention back to the stairs, something he hadn't paid attention to in a good minute, he waited for the entourage to arrive, with either intentions on getting rid of him or helping him. Tensing up a bit at the thought of another brawl, he awaited his guest or an answer from the A.I. |

"Yes," replied the computer with certainty, its voice resonating coldly across the empty, metal deck. "Reactor control rods have been manually removed by the intruder. Reactor core temperature is rising and will soon reach critical levels; maintenance and supervision systems have been compromised by the intruder and cannot function. Reactor control rods should be replaced immediately to prevent a catastrophic core melt accident." |

Possible reactor meltdown? "Well great" the ferret bemoaned heavily. The doctor just cannot simply lay down in one place for a moment. "Is there anything we can do to solve this dilema?" he asked as he got out of his seat, lightly beggining to pace in his own small circle in front of the throne as his arm folded stiffly in front of him. "And could we close off any escape routes for the intruder?" One finger lightly tapping his arm, he began to wonder why on earth he was trying to save this, ship thing, and not just get out of the place and leave, ecspecially since it was going to melt down anyways. The answer was vague, but the white simian from before spiked his curiosity. "Why fight so hard, and so outnumbered for a simple space station thing?" he mumbled to himself as if the answer was going to just appear in front of him miraculously. His own resolution followed that there must be some secret to this place that he didn't know about (obviously) and was going to try to find out later. "Computer?" he spoke aloud as if he resolved the problem already, "Send some Egg Pawns and other possible robots to the reactor place. They should be able to fix this as well as anyone else could if you place the objective in." He had no idea if the problem could be solved as easily as he rationalized (which it probably won't) but he would at least give it a try. |

Once Desmond was done speaking and making orders, the computer finally replied, bullet-point by bullet-point as only a computer would. "The intruder has already escaped using escape pod #117 from reactor core corridor 4," reiterated the computer. "However, once the escape pod is nearer to Earth and its trajectory can be reliably calculated, planet-side forces will be sortied to intercept the intruder at his landing site." Abruptly, it stated the next response. "'Egg Pawns' are not designed or programmed for specialized repair and maintenance. Barring even that limitation, there are no remaining adequately-functional units able to access the reactor core at this time." More security camera footage popped up to reinforce its message, showing a trail of carnage that went down the corridors, with shells of bombed-out-looking robots littering the floors everywhere. Doors leading to the core had robots tearing and blasting at them, but looked to have been welded shut, and in some cases simply obstructed by debris, leaving repair robots from other areas standing idly by, waiting for access while the core temperature continued to skyrocket. |

Dropping his hands down to his sides, the words hit him like the bullets Seven was firing before. "Gone?" he asked aloud, unsure if he was talking more to the monotone A.I or himself. The thought of him getting away again tore a hole in his heart, like he failed at another task even though he didn't have much control over it. "Yeah" he answered in a defeated and slight careless tone to the A.I's option, "set the land forces closest to him on full alert" the ferret commanded while lazily flicking his hands in a "shoo" motion. The possibility of killing the man jolted into his mind temporarily, it was easy enough, he had the power at the beaconing of his call. Maybe it was his rationalization that the doctor would be more valuable alive, or maybe it was simply the slight thought that killing the doctor would be morally wrong in some way, whatever stopped him from placing a hit on the man continued with the disarming directive he placed on Seven. "Place him in some type of custody" he finished. Walking over to the stairs he went back to asking his previous question, "Computer" he called with a firm tone almost close to angrily yelling as he felt the A.I had ignored his question, "Do you have any means on how I could fix the reactor rods?" Maybe the A.I didn't quite comprehend his question, so he guessed a few tools that the doctor could have. "Maybe another one of those escape pods can be used to break open the sealed doors" going for something simpler, "Maybe a jackhammer or a drill?" Mid sentence, an idea hit him, well more of a short picture of that white primate furiously typing on the keyboard a thousand or so floors below. "He knows something alright" as though he had caught someone red handed. Not looking behind him, he called for him as well as someone who was unbeknownst to a complete stranger. "Uh, white haired mohawk man, I need a hand here." |

The computer took a long time to respond. "You did not design your escape pods to launch inwardly," it replied, heavily confused. "They are intended to launch free of the ship and travel to Earth." Suddenly, all the camera feeds went out at once in a flash, the lights flickered and dimmed, and red emergency lights came on all over the place. A second or two later, the lightest of shudders shook the floor under Desmond's seat simultaneous to a very distant boom. "... The reactor core has suffered critical damage," said the computer. "Now operating on emergency power. Evacuation is strongly advised." |

Head hanging low, he could only mutter in disbelief as the whole ship seemed to be falling apart. "Fine" he answered in acceptance to the fact that he could no longer try and hold the ship together on his own. "Launch escape vessels and pick up all organic beings on the ship" he commanded, making sure the simple A.I. wouldn't attempt on bringing all of the machines with them. Looking out to the stars, he could only sigh heavily and wait for either the escape pods to arrive, or for the unknown future. "Single handingly fixing a ship without knowledge on how to work this thing?" he scoffed, "Yeah right." |
