A sharp intake of air had been heard from the hedgehog once he followed in behind the others to the new room, only giving the rest of the bodies brief glances before solely focusing on the floor for a moment. Here he saw some of the scorch marks, and although still disturbing, it was better than the mummies that in the vicinity. Then the noise. One could visibly see his quills stiffen a bit at this, and upon reaction, his arms were suddenly covered in a layer of thick crystal as he eyed the door. The sound had startled him at first, but now his entire focus was on the door the others were beginning to investigate. Without a word, he inched after them, skirting up to the door from an angle, not really trusting being right before it. "...who's going to open it?" he said with a voice that was almost silent. |

Wild Badge entered the Crew Quarters area of the ship. What he found made him have to hold back a gag reflex. Throwing up in one's helmet is less than pleasent. "OoOh..." A hand came to rest on his stomach as he let the sick feeling pass. He shook his head. Then the mysterious noises came. Far be it from him to step in front of a big eagle with a grenade launcher. ..But then another noise came from the changing room. He continued to follow behind the others... The gems on his gloves starting to give off a dim glow as he clenched his fists. "I'll get the door." He said as he moved quickly but carefully around the two armed members of the group, and pressed his back against the wall on the side of the door opposite to Sheffer. "Ready?" He looked at Coop who had the biggest guns, it seemed. He reached out and opened the door, in the event that he got a positive response. |

In response, Coop brought the stock of the grenade launcher closer to his shoulder, and hunched over. There was a gentle 'click' as he removed the safety. |

The door went vssssssh, and opened. The room beyond was empty. An access grate had fallen down from the ceiling. Absolutely nothing happened. |

"...." There was a clatter as rock fell down from his arms to the metal floors, and if his partners looked over, they would find Sheffer just slowly shaking his head out of disbelief. The tension in his quills disappeared, and he seemed to relax just a bit. "Let's... let's just keep movin'." |

Coop breathed out heavily through his nose in something similar to an angry snort. He rested his grenade launcher at his side and engaged the safety again. "This is stupid," he muttered. He glanced behind them, nervously. |

Ace peeked through the door behind the eagle's back. When it had become apparent enough that... if nothing else, the noise was a false alarm, he could do little but blink in disbelief before grunting in irritation. A build up with no release-- for whatever situation, was never fun to go through. He seemed to, if not relax, at least wind-down for a moment. Although he did perhaps jump the gun a bit (and perhaps a bit too literally) come the next clattering noise in the form of the hedgehog's armor clinking and clanging to the metal floor. Long story short, he ended up whirling about, his gun's barrel abruptly pointed at Sheffer's chest, but lowered the sights as soon as he indeed recognized his would-be target as Sheffer himself. He turned around, half-growled and half-sighed, but didn't say a word of it beyond that. Maybe he felt he deserved it after his own little prank, but either way, the subject was dropped before it was brought up. "Shyeah..." the cat huffed in agreement with the other two, avoiding eye-contact in favor of the contents of the room they'd just discovered. "We oughta get this over with 'fore it gets any stupider. How much of this ship is left to see?" He asked nobody in particular. |

Rodolf's brows furrowed-- he was no doubt somewhat less than amused with the cheap jump-scare, but as usual, he expressed nothing about it in a too-obvious way. "Let's try not to kill one another, first," Rodolf said, mainly at Ace, before he paused. "Wild Badge was trying to find something like captain's quarters. I think that's as good a bet as anything, unless we want to search around for every damned corpse on this ship for clues." He paused and looked at the pistol he had procured from the crew member-- it had a couple shots left, which was good enough for him. "So unless anyone's got any better ideas, that's what I'm going to look for. Feel free to follow." He left the 'and feel free to split up if you feel like breaking the number-one rule of every horror movie you've ever seen' unsaid. And with that, he turned around and made for the hallway. |

When nothing happened, Wild Badge leaned into the doorway. He looked up at the ventillation shaft, whose grate had fallen over. Possibly due to disrepair, or maybe a stalking monster was in there, waiting to pounce. Badge wasn't exactly ready to rule out Xenomorphs, or whatever. But at the very least, there didn't seem to be any immediate danger. His shoulders loosened a bit as he looked at the others. "There doesn't appear to be a Captains Quarters here." He said as he looked around thoughtfully. He searched around for a control panel. It was likely that he could get a ship map off of a public kiosk if there was one around. |

...clank clank. clank clank clank. Something echoed in the ceiling, past the metal panels that comprised most of the surfaces in the ship. clank clank clank It moved behind the inscrutable panelling, apparently shifting position above the group. clank clank clank Something crashed through the ceiling. A tumbling mess of metal shapes, the debris hit he ground directly where wild badge was standing, giving the raccoon maybe a half of a second to get out of the way before the mass impacted the ground with an ear-splitting smashing noise. Part of the debris detached itself and stood up. Unfolding into a bizarre, bloodied, rusted contraption, a multi-armed, multi-appendaged robot stood before the group. Three arms gesticulated wildly. A fourth was a shredded stub. It tottered unstably on a damaged leg, and limped as it changed position. Three glowing eyes embedded in the thing's otherwise featureless face burned a bright, toxic green. "WERRK," it said. "wrr-r-r-r-r-rk. ARGHK. JSSSHfield federation." "Federation," it said, "we are, Federation. Ar—khhhhaaaa." Its voice changed into an agonized scream. Surrounded by the mummified corpses of the long-dead crew of the ship, the thing said something that sounded eerily similar to an echo of the past. "THEY'RE COMING THROUGH THE CEILING," it howled, "THEY'RE—IT—" It charged at Rodolf. |

Luckily, Wild Badge was already in motion and the steadily louder clanking noises overhead gave him a pretty good heads up. So much for the danger not being immediate. As soon as the ceiling gave way, he made a forward dive out of the way, throwing his shoulder out into a roll and coming to a knee a few feet away from the debris -- still a dangerously close proximity to the emerging mechanical beast. He stood up, fists held over his face and chest. The gems on his knuckles glowing as he focused on defense -- but then the scrap golem charged at Rodolf. "Watch out!" He shouted toward Rodolf and then launched himself forward without thinking. Chaos Energy engulfed his fists as he attempted to jump on the robot's back. Should he get that far, he'd clasp both hands together over his head, and swing a Chaos Powered hammer fist down on the thing's head from behind, with force that Wild Badge figured would at least break off some rusted chunks if the blow was unhindered. And no flashy attack name? No, in the heat of the moment, he didn't have time to think of one. Besides... A mindless foe such as this wouldn't be able to appreciate it, anyways. |

"Shi--!" Rodolf didn't even get past that, as he almost bounced to the side and back (he'd never admit that it was at least partially due to surprise!). It only took him a second or two to regain his composure, in which time Wild Badge had struck out at whatever it was that had decided to crash the party. It was a mystery if he had even heard the hero's warning-- he seemed, the second the thing had hit the ground, wholly focused on it. Before the raccoon even landed thereupon, and hoping that Wild Badge would hinder the metal beast at least a little with his attack from behind, Rodolf wasted no time in launching himself straight at it. Clutching the firearm he had found tightly in one hand (he was sure he'd think of a use at some point, and didn't want to abandon it, but now was not the time), the unicorn muttered something akin to a prayer, and... Dropped to the floor, skidding like a baseball player diving into a base, while striking out with one foot at the thing's seemingly unstable legs. |

Propelled by Badge's punch, the robot tumbled forward into Rodolf's slide, and pitched into something that was only one inch shy of becoming a complete faceplant. It stopped, suspended off the ground by it's three working arms, and then sprung like a spider, launching itself farther away from the two and landing in a quinta-legged crouch about three meters away. It did a complicated reposition and was standing upright again almost instantly. "WRRK," it screamed, and then, "Muffet, look out. Look. Look. Look." It delivered a sharp kick towards the foot of one of the bedframes, snapping the metal frame just above where it was bolted to the ground. It reached out, and with a tremendous wrench, twisted the rest of the bedframe free, and sent it tumbling over the room at them. "Look. LOOK OUT." |

The serval's out-loud cry of "What the Hell!" sounded decidedly genuine, even over the bedlam of action and falling metal. And what cause would there be to doubt it? He'd just been given one of the better 'boo' scares of his entire existence. But as clearly shaken as his composure was by the sudden ordeal, he knew better than to put himself within kissing range of whatever mechanical abomination got the literal drop on them. It would've been great if he could say he leapt backwards and immediately assumed a firing position, but the moment he tried, his heel caught itself over a stray piece of the ceiling-debris, and he fell square on his keester in the middle of the mess. Thankfully, the back of his head absorbed a fair degree of the fall's blow as well. Ace spent the next agonizingly long three seconds cringing in pain. By the time that spell was over and he had raised his noggin for a better view, he barely had enough time to recognize their enemy's next attack, let alone react to it. But by some miracle, he did-- and he saw the bottom of the bedframe nearly peel his nose off as he planted the back of his head back to the ground. And before he could even thank his lucky stars, he rose up once again, still seated as if he was doing a sit-up, pointed his gun at whatever looked the most like a head on their robotic foe, and let loose. Three burst fire rounds. Nine bullets. Followed by a terrifying click click click. |

"Today is starting to suck," Rodolf muttered to himself sardonically, almost getting back up from his slide... before he caught sight of a bedframe send tumbling towards his person with the metallic, distorted sound-clips behind it. Almost as soon as he got to his feet, he tumbled back to them-- or, rather, was about to hit the floor of his own volition, when he got hit pretty solidly in the face, and was knocked back a good foot or two. Not for the first time that day, a fresh fountain of blood started flowing from his nose and into the mane-like hair around his neck. He shook his head with a flurry of hair and muttered something indistinct. Hard head or not, he still was pretty solidly dazed for a good couple seconds. (Perhaps the unicorn wasn't quite so used to taking hits directly to the face.) Stumbling into a kneeling position with one knee on the ground, he kept his own stolen gun trained on their enemy as soon as his eyes re-focused. He held his fire, waiting to see if Ace's bullets had any effect at all-- the few bullets would be better-off saved if it they didn't. "If anyone's got any bright ideas, now might be a good time!" Rodolf barked out to anyone who could hear him. |
