It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

A low growl drifted from the machine as it turned it's attention briefly towards each arm. "...Not one integrated weapon system functional..." Tau's focus shifted towards the weakening door for a few moments "...Bothersome..." What could be consider an audible sigh escaped the machine. "Alternate methods it is."

Without further hesitation Tau proceeded towards the door, though not before taking a hold of one of the multiple metallic worktables and began to drag it along with him. As he approached the door he'd tip the table on it's side lengthwise alongside the reason he'd choose to move towards the soon-to-be opened doorway of hostility, the computer terminal beside it. As he proceeded with one hand to position the table and implant one of the upper metal legs into the wall to reinforce his temporary 'shield,' his focus was fixed on the terminal as he mumbled to himself yet again.

"I've spent far too enough confined within one of your mainframes... "

As he spoke, a small length of cable snaked it's way from a port on the underside of his arm and slipped its way across the terminal, before connecting with an access port. It wasn't a long, at most a few moments or so before an voice crackled over the nearby speakers in the automated laboratory as automated defenses, previously inactive since the facility's recent power loss, quickly began to spark to life and reactivate, both within the room they were within in addition to the rest of the automated laboratory.

"Intruders de..tec..t..ed "

What would follow would be the defenses not assisting the GUN personal. Instead, they began to open fire on them. It wasn't much given the amount of enemies they faced, however, any distraction at this point could be considered an asset. Tau would linger at the console a moment more before disengaging from it.

A lot of metal-tinkling noises, crashing sounds, and even a couple small blasts came from the other side of the door as Hunters and Mono Beetles were raked down by sentry fire. It ultimately only served to make room for more to come in, it seemed, but the numbers were being thinned—at least until human intervention was made, and the pilot of the Hotshot turned his vulcan cannon toward them.

Game over for the robot's hijacked sentries; they at least added some spice to the fight.

Finally, the coup de grace was delivered to their door. (Literally, and not in the pizza delivery sense—it was the door receiving the finisher.) With a bright blue flash, the Hotshot mech dispatched what remained of the door with its beam cannon. There was a brief window of opportunity where an impenetrable haze of smoke and dust prevented him from getting a bead on anything inside, but once that was done with, there was going to be gunfire all over the place. In the meantime, plenty of Mono Beetles were hovering slowly in to get the fight started.

Sheffer wasted no time. The enemy had breached their only barrier, and he'd be a fool to be an immovable target in the center of the room. So, with rocky arms in pike form, he charged without fear, the pumping energy of the moment driving him forward.

On he went into the hazy cover of smoke, smashing into multiple Beetles along the way, parts flying as his hands simply smashed large dents into the robots or pierced them straight through. He was paving a narrow path through the oncoming offensive, and suddenly, he found himself through the smoke, and facing the boss of the crew. He stared blankly up at the mech through the sheet of crystal, still sprinting forward, having to act fast before the pilot of the Hotshot decided to actually do something about the small boulder running about.

He jumped. And it was decent jump at that, for one bogged down by rock. A fist flew forward, and even though it appeared to be a pathetic attempt to damage the machine that was easily ten times his size, he went through with it. Suddenly, since he could only leap so high and it just so happened to be the first target that could prove to be an advantage if taken down, his arm slammed right into the beam cannon situated beneath the cockpit, Sheffer lodging the limb as far as it could go into the mech's weapon. Without really knowing if the the new crystal-cork would actually suffice as a prohibiter of the cannon, the rock detached itself from his arm as the hedgehog fell to the floor... and then proceeded to run right between the machine's legs.

There were no weapons on the backside of the thing, providing a momentary safe zone from the mech, swiftly turning back while he fended off a few more Beetles .

Sheffer's attack actually did stop the beam cannon. Unlike something, say, Eggman would build, there didn't seem to be any catastrophic explosion as a result of crippling the contraption; it just ceased to function with a warning to the pilot about a weapons system malfunction.

With an array of missile pods and a durable, still-functioning vulcan cannon, it continued to march forward, its pilot unwilling to divert course to chase Sheffer. Why?

The room didn't just contain a few Mono Beetles. Behind the Hotshot was as many GUN Hunters as could physically fit into the room without shooting one another (much), and as many Mono Beetles as could hover in the air without running into each other (often). He basically emerged from beneath the mech into a waterfall of beam and cannon fire, the sheer volume of which could melt even his stony armor in scant few seconds' time, if allowed to proceed unhindered.

Shhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiii-

Long story short, Sheffer hit the brakes, the crystal on his soles making sparks fly as he promptly turned direction and made a completely understandable retreat. He did not escape unscathed, the gunfire slamming into his back, only adding to the momentum he was trying to gain as he flew past underneath the mech again, more projectiles straying between the legs, causing him to fly forward off his feet.

With the most ungraceful of landings, he skidded across the floor, crystal chipping off in chunks as he emerged back into the previous room. He took an opportunity to yell something to Ace as the rock cleared off his mouth, his voice filled with urgency and maybe even some pain.

"Throw the #%$&ing Drives!!"

"DUDE, whaddya doin'!?"

Ace looked genuinely startled by Sheffer's heroic (and equally suicidal) headfirst charge, but he used the opportunity (and moderate distraction) as best he could, peeking over his cover to deliver a handful or two of chaos cards at the mono beetles overhead, but for all the pandemonium, that was the best he could do. Too many bullets and lasers and painful projectile crap was flying around for him to even get anything close to a lock-on on the Hunter's guns, or a slapdash estimate on the Hotshot's weakspot, if it even had one. Before long, he was pinned down again, and ducked down behind the crate that he could feel wearing down already.

Ace breathed more than a sigh of relief when he saw the hedgehog fall back. And when he shouted his request for backup? No need to tell him twice. Slapping his back flat against steel cube with a grin under pressure, you could almost see his pink shades glimmer as he shoved his hands into the pile of drives, and shouted possibly to both his friends and enemies:

"Take notes!"

A fist-full of drives for each hand, a haphazard, balls-out barrage of energized chaos drives was suddenly strewn out at blinding speeds behind him. He didn't know where his targets would be, but he sure as hell had a general idea, so he dunked one hand in after another, left and right, scooping drives up and hurling them over his shoulder in rapid succession with his eyes focused primarily on the remaining stock. The resulting, laser-blue 'explosions' of each, be it tearing out chunks of robots or chunks of wall, were not terribly large, roughly the size of an ample watermelon, but they were remarkably strong.

Few could ever claim that they had seen a blue chaos drive before. That would change today.

While the others did their part to keep things under control, Rock finished up his project.

A lumpy mess of detcord had been wrapped in foam then surrounded by a very poor excuse for a makeshift stator winding, and inserted in the armored cylinder. What he did from that point was quick and fiddly, placing the detonator and trying to situate things, but then at the last minute, he started taking stuff back out, muttered something along the lines of "screw it," and closed the cylinder lid up with some electrical tape.

With that done he scooped everything up and sprinted back to... the freaky cooler box?

For whatever horrible reason, he dropped what he was carrying, pulled out his gun, flipped open the lid, and unceremoniously plugged the struggling test-tube-monstrosity within. He then holstered his weapon, carefully set the rigged Chaosol Emerald inside, closed and latched the box, and heaved it back into its position on the shelf.

It seemed the others had immensely diminished the opposing forces. Their new robo-buddy had thinned the aerial groups significantly with the sentries; Ace had taken out one of the Hotshot walker's legs out, leaving it toppled; Sheffer's previous actions meant that its movable gun was still useless, so, with its missiles long expended by door-destruction efforts, and its vulcan impossible to aim without moving the body of the vehicle, it was a non-threat. Ace's sustained drive-hurling furthermore left the majority of hunters scrapped or at least fallen, and the machines were not terribly agile.

That meant, besides the fire and smoke, the room ahead had largely emptied. There were still more reinforcements on the way, though, so they still had a fight.

With all of his loose ends tied up, Rock came skidding back in near the others, his back to the wall next to the busted door, weapon in hand.

"We've got six minutes!" shouted the primate over the noise of... well, not so much gunfire, but more burning-and-still-popping-and-crackling robot electronics outside. "Let's find a way up'n'out!"

"Charging headfirst didn't really work the first time!" Sheffer yelled back, wincing as he stood.

If one would glance at the hedgehog's left arm, there would be a notable spot where the crystal looked like it nearly melted, leaving a nasty, yet not too serious, scorch mark on his skin. Fortunately for him, the pain, nor the damage, was all too horrible, but it still left him quite irked. Robot heads would roll pretty soon, it would seem.

Despite his words, Sheffer was already gearing up in another layer of crystal, rolling his neck once. Six minutes till KABOOM, so haste was needed, and with a small nod to the monkey, he repeated the action that had not been successful not even a minute before, charging right back through the smoke enshrouded doorway.

With precision, he smashed through some of the surviving Hunters in the room, leaping over the carcasses of others, and proceeded to continue onward. More gunfire flew at him, but he quickly dispatched any of the aggressors, satisfying crunches of rock against metal filling the room.

Tau had moved away from the console no shorter then a few moments before the door was breached and had remained on the sidelines until the battle began to settle. Having only recently acquired his new found body shortly before meeting the group he hadn't yet had the chance to acquire a weapon and there wasn't much of a reason for him to be in the line of fire. With the hostile forces mostly dispatched for the time being Tau took the opportunity to fix the issue of being unarmed by collecting a weapon from one of the fallen hunters. (Well, at least one that wasn't shredded or otherwise blown to hell along with it's owner in the fight )

Weapon in hand Tau took a brief moment to give the new found item a quick visual once over before the announcement of the countdown. Now on a countdown for Get-the-hell-out time running down Tau would proceed towards the white simian (Whom he'd since determined to to be the leader of the others ).

" Multiple escape routes have been made available... They may not remain secure for too long. "

"Six min..." the cat huffed, turning his appalled expression to the team's unofficial leader. "You kiddin'...!? As it was, he seemed a little worn out by that last assault delivered. Whereas energizing a paper thin playing card could be considered no big deal, a chaos drive was bigger, thicker, but most importantly played some kind of inherent havoc with his charging powers. Combined with the fact that he just tossed out a whole box full, and the end result was one weary kitty. Regardless, he breathed in through his nose, out through his mouth, and stood himself up. Stuffing his pockets with as many drives as he could fit, he followed behind Rock.

"God damn... That thing coming with us?" he asked with a motion to their robotic companion.

"Knows the way out, seems to be able to crack the security—I think we're keepin'im," replied the primate, tongue in cheek, before moving out.

Rock maneuvered his way through the wreckage and assisted with gunning down strays on the way back to the corridor. Once in that hall (the one where they had exited the railway tunnel), a flurry of gunfire came streaking at him, prompting him to duck (see: nearly fall to the ground and scurry low and nearly on all fours to another crate to avoid the upwardly-angled barrage of projectiles). The tram tunnel doors, source of the barrage, were still ajar and damaged, but not yet blown open. Through the gap in them, he could see... well, suffice to say a lot more than he wanted to see. A sea of red GUN robotic optics filled the dark tunnel beyond. The military installation they had just escaped through the tunnel was sending virtually everything through at them.

"We ain't goin' back that way, so take point and get us outta here," Rock finally replied to Tau, then raised the cylindrical device for emphasis. "You'll wanna get a little distance for this, anyway!"

Without further explanation, he tossed the device to the exhausted yellow cat, and made a gesture toward the doors.

"One more time."

It was all Jam could do to keep up with the rest of the pack, and scramble out of the way quickly enough when opposition was found, and although she was well past ready for the mission at large to be over and done with, six minutes might have been wrapping things up just a smidgen earlier than she was comfortable with. As complaints/exasperations/ declarations of imminent destruction had already been made, the smallest, pinkest member of the group chose to still her tongue, and skittered out from cover and into Tau's shadow once the leadership baton was passed.

"So," blurted Jam, partially just to let the potentially trigger happy robot know she was so close on his six. Her was tone laden with stress as she cleared her throat, and asked, "So, you know a really fast way out of here, right? Like, less-than-five-minutes fast? Maybe?"

Similarly pinned down by the incoming fire, Ace caught the strange, haphazard looking device in his gloved palm. He couldn't make heads or tails out of what it was, but it made sense to figure that if Rock was giving it to him, it was for one reason. He looked down at the thing with a curious glance and a puffed-out exhalation, and secretly wondered if Rock was getting some kind of a kick handing him all these mysterious new substances and watching them charged and exploded.

"Goddamn if I'm not gonna make one!" he growled to the other monkey, sparing her a glance teeth bared. He was tired, and it showed, but he still had enough fight in him to press on. Rock's contraption slowly growing bluer and brighter, he stood up, slammed his foot on top of the cover, and through the thing like a speedball through the gap in the door.
